They all look pretty industrial... Sigh.

I dunno, maybe the slanted slashes would look better. OK, I'll tell them. I'm sure they'll listen to me!

Actually, the knurling is done by a standardized machining tool to provide better grip on the threaded parts so it’s more functional than decorative. There are different patterns available, but they’re all rather industrial. Here’s a link to Travers – maybe you can pick a pattern you like better! 'course then we need to convince them to retool the factory... We'll just tell them Briar wants it that way.

Don't give up, Briar! I'd also prefer a smooth finish to the knurling. Maybe the factory could do a short run of smooth-finish bases for those of us who want them?

I could see myself dumping a lot of juice without the knurling...lol. That is what reminds me that I have to be careful taking it off....without it, I'd probably unscrew the tank.

The double seal provides a lot of resistance to unscrewing the base from the tube, and even when it's fully unscrewed, you still have to pull the tube past the seals. But that said, I'd rather see different options to match what we all want than a total replacement. :)

Knurling or not, the design and build quality of these things are amazing. I got all 3 ohm values and not sure yet which I like best, but the 1.8 seems to be leading at the moment.

I just dumped the bit of juice that was left....rinsed everything out and set out to dry. Will try it again tomorrow with a different juice. I didn't think I overfilled it...but will be conservative when I refill it. I'll fiddle with the silicone cap before filling as suggested above.

Ok...cleaned the Stardust this morning, and reloaded with a different juice....it seems to be working fine so far. I took the silicone cap off, did a quick dry burn, and reseated it. So far....no leaking, no smokey condensation. Juice I had in it yesterday was Craveloupe (Alien Visions) which is a bit thick. Loaded with a RAWR Serum...which is definitely thinner. My hypothesis at this point, is that the silicone cap was pushed down, thereby blocking juice/airflow in the tube. I also noticed when I took it apart that the metal tube was moving up and down when I messed with it...pushed it down.

I'm having problems with one of my Stardusts. It dumped about half a tank of juice today...laying on its side. Bottom is tight....drip tip is tight. Everytime I try to put juice in it, it floods (it is hard to get juice into, as the head is taking up the space). It is also really "smokey" with condensation. Any ideas????? It totally may be some type of user error..I just can't figure out what it is.

Got my order today and having same issue as far as condensation - really "smokey", although I have no leaking. I was also wondering if this was normal. Also been getting a lot of burnt hits. Mine has the dedicated 2.4 stardust coil head - short wick.

Laura

I'm curious if either of you had any success with the suggestions that were given? It would be nice to know for other users that may also experience this issue.

lauragal... in addition, you mentioned burnt hits... I'm assuming you actually meant dry hits... If you are not already aware, CE2 style clearo's like the Stardust require that you keep them tilted enough to keep the wicks wet so they can wick the juice to the coils... Thick juices, such as all VG and similar thick mixes, are more likely to have wicking issues in all types of vaporizers in including a CE2 type... sometimes it is as simple as adding a drop or several drops of distilled water ( depends on the juice as to how much may be needed ) in order to thin it down a little bit.

Edit... I see that harleydiva posted before I finished my post

I was just looking at my Stardust and it looked off. The center tube is crooked. It works great but it is crooked. Can I try and straighten it or will I break it?Oh boy here we go again with the tinkerer, fiddler, and modder which I am non of the above lol. I think I need to back to work lol

A fiddler's answer - if it's working great then leave it alone.

I'm sure a tinkerer will be along soon.

+1 with what the other's said... don't mess with it right now...

When you've vaped it empty, just take it apart and clean it up, make certain that tube it tightened down good, straighten it slightly if needed and reassemble...
