I found that the blue foam was more consistent, 'forgiving' temperature wise and much easier to clean.

I gave up on carts and eGo tanks when I tried eGo Mega dual coil cartomizers on my eGo batts! Low resistance and dual coil cartos should be used on fat batts (>450 mAh). I've had no issues with my eGo batts and the eMDCC.

Thank you! What kind of battery do you use with the dual coils? That does matter correct?

Dual coils won't work on what you have. You need a better battery, the higher the mAh rating the better. 1100 mAh will work well with dual coils. Higher is even better. Using dual coils on a 5 volt or variable volt model is really nice.

Thanks for the info! Is it possible to use the blue foam with the 808 model at all? Meaning...are there cartomizers (not sure if that is what the blue foam goes in ((so confused)) that fit the 808 that I can use the blue foam with?

It's possible in a three piece set up. For 808 batteries, you'd use 901 atomizers and 901 cartridges stuffed with blue foam and drip juice into the foam.

In my opinion, you'd be better off using 808 cartomizers, 2.5 to 3.0 ohms, with your 808 batteries. Kanger horizontal coil cartos have gotten rave reviews.

I've used the blue foam and it works fine, but I finally discovered that polyfill works really well as long as you keep it clean and the cart is packed properly. Polyfill (fluval) should be not too tight and not too loose, just enough to fill the cart and prevent leaks. When you add the juice, it expands slightly.

Boge cartos use the poly filler and work great. The main reason for blue foam was that you could use a small piece along with a drink stirrer section to make a "blue dart". That left the rest of the cart clear to hold more juice. With the larger carts available today, that's not necessary.

(sorry - redundant)

Why would you ever switch from cartomizers to cartridges?

Blue foam is for the cartridges that stick on an atomizer. Atomizer+cartridge is probably the least favorite way to vape. Holds less liquid, needs liquid more often, can suddenly dump most of it's liquid so you get a mouthful. Blue foam makes it better but not so much that I would want to go back to using cartridges.

On 808 you have been using cartomizers. You cannot restuff cartomizers.

If you really want to use 510 atomizer+cartridge, strictlyejuice.com has precut blue foam for 510 cartridges for under $1 for 10. Or you can soend 8x as much and buy the bulk blue foam as Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve in the aquarium dept of Petsmart.

Oh, I knew you couldn't restuff cartomizers; I just didn't know until now that the atmoizer/cartrige method was a step down. I was thinking of switching and asked about the blue foam because I ran across it when I was looking at alternatives to the cartomizer. After all the useful info though, sticking with cartomizers seems to be the thing to do :)

Well it would be a step up for someone who had no money to buy cartomizers. But cartomizers hold more, keep your flavors separate, no attys to fail or keep clean, won't suddenly dump 1/2 their juice in your mouth, etc.

Many of the 510 MODELS are a step up because most big battery models (650mah+) and mods are 510-threaded or available in 510-threading. And those can also use the hotter LR cartomizers and atomizers, the bulk of which are 510-threaded. But even though the big battery 50 models are sold with atomizer + cartridges, most people don't use them that way.

The whole point about 510 threading, however, is really unimportant since there are adapters for ever atty/carto on the market. There is more variety, however in the 510 category although the 801 is starting to catchup as there are now LR and dual coil attys/cartos in the 801 size.
