Hi everyone! I'm a smoker of 34 years, who after watching my wife hospitalized over Christmas for asthma & pneumonia, and watching her walk down the hall toting an oxygen tank to be able to breathe at the age of 45, decided that something needed to change, AND FAST!! She's doing fine now, but I can't get that vision out of my head. We are both smokers, but she has not had a cigarette since going into the hospital on Dec. 21, and I have not had one since Dec. 31.
We both started out using disposable e-cigs, but the cost was more than smoking regular cigarettes. They stated that the e-cig was comparable to "up to 2 packs of cigarettes," but I guess they could say "up to" whatever they want. In reality, a disposable e-cig would last me about 9-10 hours, and what I usually smoked was between 1 & 1 1/2 packs per day. It didn't take long to realize that we were blowing through money like there was no tomorrow, but we rationalized that at least we weren't smoking anymore.
I ended up purchasing the eGo system from Apollo, and the drop in the amount of money I'm spending has been substantial. I'm very happy with the system, and I like the tobacco flavored juice from the same company.
I guess what I'd like to know is, am I going about this the right way? Is there anything I should know, like are there better systems to use? I intend to shop around & try various other juices & vendors, but any input from you "veterans" would be greatly appreciated.
As of now, I'm just glad to be off the cigarettes, and happy that my wife is doing so much better. She doesn't even use her inhaler on a daily basis anymore! vaping has truly saved my wife's life, and put a lot of health concerns to rest.
Thank you in advance for any/all input you can give me, as I really am flying blind, and have NO experience in this area.
