I'm no expert but I have the very same problem but only with the 50/50 juice I get from my local B&M. I've since tried several different brands I've gotten online (thanks way too much lurking here) and I'm fine now. That said drink plenty of water, that may help a bit. It helped me before I gave up the B&M juice.

I think we need to hear more about your Atmos to help you. I don't know anything about the Atmos, but when I Google it, the most commonly occurring reference is for a dry herb or waxy oil atomizer. You might not be using the correct set-up for e-liquids. That is quite possibly why it is spitting and sputtering. And I know when my clearos spit even a little bit of juice on my tongue, it hurts for days!

I've been vaping for only 1 month and been back to the store 4 times.
My tongue burns so badly that I can't eat or drink anything - it's amazingly painful.
I'm using an Atmos with .6 and 0 juice combined. Am I allergic to something?
I went back to cigarettes until I find a solution.
Please help!

Which Atmos model are you using? If it has variable voltage or wattage, what is it set on. What is the resistance of the atomizer, the part that has the juice in it? What juices are you using? Links are good, URLs are fine too :)

In my opinion you are better off smoking for a little while. What you are experiencing is definitely not a normal reaction to vaping and could be from a number of different things. Give us more information and let's see what we can come up with.

Put a "spark arrestor" inside the mouthpiece/drip tip. Nothing to it, just bend a small piece of stiff wire into a V, and slip it inside the tip ... no more spatter. (just make sure it has enough 'spring tension' to hold it in place)
I used the bridge from an old atomizer

If you have to install a spark arrestor something is very wrong with the device! My suggestion is to find a cheap ego battery and a bottom coil clearomizer with changable coils (the cheapest you can find will do) use this for your eliquid vapeing for a few days and see if you recover from your discomfort. Going back to smoking is a bad option. You could also mix some VG (Veg Glycerin) from Walmart or Drug store ( USDA certified) with your juices to see if the PG ( Prop. Glychol) is the problem. with less PG in the juice the irritation will decrease if it is the PG. It does sound like you have either a Chemical burn or electrical type burn and may need to have it checked out by your Dr. Be smart and take care of yourself, and go back to smoking as a last resort.

Unfortunately there are numerous types of toppers that are notorious for their snap-crackle-spit-and spatter. CE-5s (like I see advertised with the Atmos) being one of them.

This is a CE-5 type atomizer

    Thanks everyone for your responses.
I bought it from unovapor - a local store.
    It is not variable wattage/voltage.
I was very happy vaping until the sputter. The store fixed it for me by inserting a new wick. That lasted for a few days until the sputter again.
I guess what I want to know if this is just a bad brand of vaporizer for me, should I try a different brand.
If so, does anyone have any recommendations for me?

I was extremely happy vaping away until this happened again. I can't be trying to fix it every day especially since I'm mechanically challenged.

It looks most like 510 Optimus Kit.
Slightly different. I believe they sold me a discontinued version - has no measurement lines.
Back the store again and they fixed AGAIN but it still sputters.
Finally gave in and got a BLU until I can find the right setup for me.
My tongue is still on fire, but if I go to the doctor he will only tell me not to vape.

Does your local vape shop carry ego batteries? That is what I would recommend, preferably with variable voltage. An ego C twist or Vision Spinner would be good. With the variable voltage, you can turn the heat up or down to your taste. You can pair it with something like a Kanger Evod. It's coil and wicks sit on the bottom and might reduce the sputtering.

I started with ce4 clearomizers and once in a while it would sputter and spit juice in my mouth. Most of the times I could fix this by removing the tank from the battery and blowing in the mouthpiece.

As someone else mentioned you should try a juice with 70%vg to see if you have a sensitivity to pg. I found high pg juices really irritate the inside of my lips and doesn't really feel good inhaling. Tried a higher vg juice and it seems to have fixed it.

Hi everyone. I just want to thank all of you for your concerns and suggestions.
The BLU didn't work out all all - there's no vapor and it burns hot.
So after a lot of research, I got the ego-t. It's perfect for what I wanted - easy to use, fill, recharge, no sputter, and no burning tongue.
I'll be getting a larger battery that I can adjust wattage/voltage.
    I am happily vaping again.
    Thanks to all.

    Hello Everyone!
Interesting read as I have had a similar issue - not the burning part just the sputtering and popping. I am using a Kanger Protank 2 Mini atomizer and an Aspire VV (3.3-4.8V) 1000mah Battery - if I turn it all the way up, It will sputter and crackle, popping hot liquid into my mouth on almost very draw, however if I lower the voltage setting even a small degree problem solved - just a little bit of info Sherlock13 for when you get your VV/VW system. Good luck Sherlock13!

And 'Thank You' to all who wrote in on this post and the others. It is a great place to search for info and assistance. We are still new to vaping, there is lots to learn and it is much better to get advice from experienced people.
