Serious though, man - like $100+ for the setup and it seems like no one is satisfied and needs to keep buying more and more!
How is this going to be cheaper than cigs!?

You don't HAVE TO spend over 100 bucks for a set up,,,,,,,with the sale, I got TWO set ups (one for my DD and one for me) with extra chargers (including car charger) for a total of 88.00 with free shipping,,,,,,,,I spent more than that in one week of smoking,,,,,,,,

I need a few more E-juices (cheap) and I am set for at least a month.

If you are going to go with smokeless image I would just get the standard kit. It works surprisingly well. I bought my wife the standard kit when her Echo-E batteries crapped out as she wanted something smaller when she was in the car, and she loves it. At the same time I bought her a Kgo kit for at home, she uses both devices and is very satisfied.

Initial start up costs can be high. But once you find the right equipment, things mellow out. If you look at my .sig, you'll see that I'm close to the 2 month mark, and *very* close to the break even mark. I have 3 eGo Twist batteries, and still use the -C tanks (I don't mind them, and don't get leaks). I have plenty of juice now, most all flavors I enjoy. I don't need to buy anything else now (I *want* Twist batteries in Red and Green, but am resisting temptation at the moment). So I will easily break even in probably 2 weeks. If not less.

As many have often said on here, in the end, can you really put a price on feeling better? Smoked for 22 years, 1 - 2 PAD depending on what I was doing. Haven't had a single one in 7 weeks now. I wake up feeling so much better every day. That's priceless really. (And forever thing else, there's Mastercard.)

OK, I am still thinking on this, and I really appreciate all of the help and advice. Of course, I've come up with more questions as I go through the decision-making process :)

I think sticking with Smokeless Image because of the sale is probably going to be my best bet, but I am reconsidering whether to get the standard volt or the X2 batteries. In the end performance is going to matter a lot more than appearance when it comes to whether I will stick with it or not. So, is the message I am getting here that the X2 will give me a significant boost in the thickness of the vapor? One of the biggest issues I'm having with my current e-cig is that there's inconsistency in the vapor thickness between some of the different cartridge flavors, and if a larger, more powerful battery is going to make the vapor more consistent overall, then that's probably the way I want to go.
The X2 will not give you a significant boost in the thickness of the vapor. One X2 battery will last 3-4 times longer than the standard or "mega" battery in their regular kits. The voltage is virtually the same, so if you use the same clearomizer or cartomizer on each unit, the vapor will be the same.

That said, there will likely be an improvement over what you're using now, no matter what Volt model you get. The Volts are regulated, meaning their power doesn't decline as the battery runs low. The last puff will be like the first puff, so the consistency will be there. But realize that some flavors will be more consistent than others. Some will have better vapor than others. That's the nature of the beast and it'll take awhile for you to find your favorites.

But on the flipside, I kind of always figured I'd stick with the cigarette-sized e-cigs because I'm a fairly small person. Small mouth, short fingers, etc., and I'm worried that if I go with something on the larger side it will be uncomfortable for me to use.
That's what everyone thinks at first. Trust me. It ceases to be a factor much sooner than you think.

Also, the standard volt was an easy choice because it comes in a starter kit, whereas if I buy the X2 I have to get the parts separately, which opens me up for confusion. I know I want two batteries so I don't have to worry about not be able to vape while I'm charging. So if I were to buy 2 X2 batteries, 2 clearomizers and 2 bottles of e-liquid would that cover my needs and get me off to a good start? The X2 battery page says it comes with a "Mini USB charging / passthrough cable," so will that be a decent charging method?
With a passthrough, your battery charges as you are using it. If you spend a lot of time around a computer, you can get away with one battery. You will get approx 1 hour per 100 mah of battery capacity while you are NOT plugged into the passthrough. So, a 1300mah X2 battery will give you about 13 hours of vaping even if you are not near a computer USB port. While you are plugged in, you can vape and charge indefinitely. Two X2's, 2 clearo's and 2 bottles will get you off to a good start, but you should consider extra clearomizers. Clearomizers don't last forever, and you want to have spares. At least get a box of blank cartomizers. It's a little risky to depend on 2 clearomizers.

I'd also consider buying juice from other places before you spend a bunch of money on big bottles of juice you might not even like. Smokless image has great hardware, but their juice isn't likely to be your all-time favorite. You want to get a lot of small bottles at first. Then, get larger bottles of the flavors you like.

If you decide against the X2 batteries, get the "mega" batteries, not the standard sized ones. The "mega" have 50% more capacity than the standard sized ones and only cost $1 more. It's a no-brainer.

I found my perfect setup in about 1 week.
First I red a lot about vaping to make an informed decision but, of course, it is only when you try it for yourself that you know what is best for you.
For me, I bought an eGo-C starter kit and started vaping with that (2x 650mAh batteries), leaving analogs alltogether. Then, after some more researching, I bought some Boge 2.0 ohms cartos and a drip tip. Best vaping ever for me ;) Lots of flavour, lots of vapor (warm vapour) and good duration. One full cartomizer lasts me more than 1 day before refilling.
One of the best things is the ease of use. It is easy to fill up the cartos, easy to change flavours without any pre-flavour creeping, and the battery last me about 3/4 days.
My wife went for one of those mini e-cigs with a pcc and she is getting tired with the batteries dying after 2 hours or less and having to constantly change and charge batteries on the pcc...also the vapour is not as thick and as warm as on my eGo with Boge cartos (though her cartos are also 2.0 ohms).
But, still she is happy with it, because as you know women, looks are everything ;P

This forum moves fast!

After reading, thinking, weighing opinions and watching every volt video I could find on YouTube, I decided to go with the Volt Standard starter kit. I maybe willing to move into something bigger eventually, but this way I can get familiar with the company and more comfortable with e-cigs in general, and then when I'm ready I can just order an x2 battery and try it without having to worry about all of the other starter kit details.

Got my kit ordered last night during the sale (which was awesome, and thanks for the tip on that), so now I just wait for it to arrive. Got one of each of the samplers to see about some favorite smokeless image flavors, but I'm also browsing around the forum to find some of people's favorite juice vendors, so I can play a bit.

Overall very psyched that my volt is on the way, and very appreciative of everyone sharing their experiences and opinions with me so I could make an informed decision. This community just seems fantastic!

Check out vapedudes for juice, I have not had a bad juice from them yet and I have tried about 15 of them. The have a coupon for a free bottle "fbfree" they accept 15 a day, so if it doesn't work, try the next day.

They also have a 40% off coupon that can be used on the same order as the free one

Went with a Volt Standard Kit this weekend too! :kudos:

You will be happy. They have good products and great customer service. I placed 2 orders on Saturday in the midst of the sale madness and both have been shipped and USPS reports I will have it on Tuesday. That's Ohio to south Florida.

I have several videos on YouTube talking about smokeless image products, feel free to check them out

I tried Key Lime Pie from them with the fb code. Best way to use it is to be awake at "date roll." Don't remember what time zone they're in, but once it's a new day, the code works. Key Lime was very yummy. Gonna make sure I get some more before I visit Key West next month.

Dug out this thread because my Volt kit came today! I am very, very satisfied and really feel like I made a good choice, and just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who helped me make the decision.

Loving the Smokeless Image flavors (the grape is just so fantastic), and I already have a long list of vapor suppliers I want to try, and I vapedudes is definitely on it, so thanks for the recommendation, Mroutlaw. I think the biggest problem there will be deciding which flavors to try first.

Oh, and I had hit a plateau of 3 analogs a day before the Volt came. Well, last night I noticed I had one cigarette left. Knowing that my new e-cig would be here today, I smoked my last analog before I went to bed, did not go out for more, and did not buy any this morning. I'm sure I'll have some rough spots, but so far today is looking to be my first completely smoke free day, with hopefully many, many more to come :)

Don't forget to goto the faces of volt thread, or whatever it's called. Post a pic of you with your Volt and the logo and face well visible and they'll give you a freebie. :)

Don't forget, withdrawals don't really last that long, so just weather through them...and you can vape all you want! Have fun with flavors too!

Congrats, and welcome!
