hi :)

i've been using my Blu e-cig for about a month now. it works ok (once i found out about taking the foil off the atty), but from what i've seen on this site, i could have a better e-cig experience. i'm looking at maybe a 510? also, i'm pretty sure these premade cartridges are to blame for my somewhat lackluster experience, but i have no clue how to go about the alternative routes, or even what they might be. halp!

I don't know how the Blu works, but if the cartridge has an exposed (or exposable) fluffy material with liquid in it, you can buy liquid and put it in yourself (even in a cartridge that's already been holding "factory approved" liquid).

I just got a 510, and I love it. I probably overpaid for mine a bit, but you can get them at Cignot for around 35 bucks. I was smart enough to order liquid at the same time as the starter kit, so I started putting juice in the carts the same day after deciding I didn't much like the pre-filled "Marlboro" juice very much.

Welcome to the forum, tardcore.

The 510 and 901 models are the most recommended for newbies. I started with the 901.

I suggest you visit the Suppliers subforum and just see which supplier has the happiest customers:

Supporting Suppliers - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

I've been very happy with the 901 for excellent flavor and decent throat hit. But I'm tired of the constant filling, topping, dripping, etc., so I have an order in for a Vapor King (2-piece model with battery and cartomizer) from Vapor4Life. It was all the posts raving about the flavors of the cartomizers in the V4L subforum that convinced me. But I'm not trying to persuade you, because choosing a PV is really a personal choice based on what's most important to you. And like I said, the 901 got me off the analogs really fast. I'm still using it and it will remain my backup even after I get my latest order.

You can also try visiting the specific models forum here:

Model Specific Discussion - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

There are lots of posts here on the forum about the Blu model. Maybe if you could post exactly what it is you don't like, someone could guide you in the right direction. Most of us want 3 basic things from a PV: decent vapor (for the visual experience), decent throat hit (to feel most like a real cig), and good flavor. Plus you might have other considerations like battery and atty life, aesthetics (does it look nice), accessories, etc. And yes, there are some really nasty pre-filled cartridges and cartomizers out there. The ones that came with my 901 starter kit were pretty disgusting, so I ordered my own liquid really fast.

Congrats for getting off the analogs, no matter how you do it. :)

get a 510 from rocky mountain vapor. my atty for my 510 is still going strong at 7 weeks, vapor is fantastic. rmv ships CRAZY fast (i placed an order last saturday and got it on monday, free shipping, i don't even know how that works) and they have great customer service. plus they're in the usa but always seem to be on par with bestecig's prices (maybe a dollar more on everything but no shipping charges instead of bestecig's $19 buck ems mail)

i'm very happy i switched to a 510, fantastic device

Same here...I also got the 510 from Rocky Mountain Vapor and I'm still on the same atty for about 7 weeks as well. Even though the kit comes with two...my wife has the other one. I bought a spare atty a week ago just in case.

You will pretty much learn all there is to know about vaping with the 510, and reading here.

i've been looking at the vaporking too. there seem to be some pros and cons with the vaporking for me. the cartomizers sound pretty nice (all those flavors!), but the battery looks a bit...flashy? it's got the VK logo all over it, like a Louis Vuitton bag or something, and that's just not my style. i think i'm sticking with my choice of a 510 and i'll look more into flavored liquids.

You can get a plain version of the Vappor King at nhaler.com. Just order the KR808D model. Basically the same thing. He'll have controllable batteries in soon, too. And his liquid is the BEST for refilling!

i've encountered a new problem with vaping, of a different sort. my girlfriend hated when i smoked. i didn't do it around her, out of respect for that. i can TOTALLY understand someone not liking smoking. it's terrible for you, it smells bad, etc. she seems to also take issue with vaping, somehow. i've explained to her that it's water vapor, not smoke. there's no carcinogens in it. i get the benefits of smoking (mainly, it's calming effects), with none of the harmful side effects. she still insists that i don't do it around her. am i completely off-base here? there's nothing for her to not like about it, but she literally cried the last time she saw me vaping.

help:confused:
