Newbie looking for a cigarette replacement

As an ex-American Spirit Menthol pack-a-day smoker, I was already taking in a large amount of nicotine each day (approx. 46 mg or something), so naturally I needed to go with 24 mg liquids. At first, I was using PG/VG mixes (80/20 and 60/40 I believe). I was hurting and bothering me, but I still laid of the smokes completely. I was vaping a lot and was reading about it and am guessing I have a PG allergy. I decided to try DIY 100% VG. After that, it was much better. No bothering, not scratchy throat, no more annoyance. I was vaping 2ml at the 24 mg for about 2 months and am now down to 2 ml of 18 mg and it was an easy switch.

I actually just found a shop that is about 20 minutes from me which I am very excited about. I am going to go and see if I can try some stuff out. I am relieved that I found a place that is local. Sigh of relief!

How far are you from Worcester?
There's a Mad Vapes shop on Grafton Street in the Stop & Shop plaza.
The owner is good people and so are his minions.
Fair prices and good gear. Juiced mixed on site.
We (New England Vapers) had a mini vape meet there yesterday.

I'm up by Leominster near 495 & Rt. 2 so know the Northern Mass Southern NH area's shops better.
I tried Safer Vapers in Webster and it's ok but just in case of emergency for me.
I don't know what's available in RI.

For MBV - since you smoked menthols:
Hawk Sauce is a berry mix with light menthol and Thug Juice is a heavy mentholated fruit mix.

I am prolly about an hour and a half away from Worcester and I very rarely head that way but thanks for the info. I think I may look into diluting my juice a little and take advantage of the high nicotine as the cost is the same. My throat is not as bad today as it was yesterday which is good.

Yes this thread and the wonderful members of ECF was a life saver for me when I started my vaping journey. Now I have a better grasp on how everything works and I am still learning. Glad this was helpful for you as well!

Was wondering how you were doing StiZzle2010?? This thread was very helpful for me when I started out. The recommendations from Legionvr6 on Vapor Stores near me was really helpful. I didn't even know Vapor only stores existed. I had been going to regular analog stores and as you can guess purchased cheap non effective expensive vape equipment that just wasted my money. It been about 3 weeks since I started vaping and not only have I not touched an analog, I haven't had a desire for one! I would say I am doing fantastic and only wished I did this sooner. I just order 2 Kanger Protank II minis and can't wait till they come in. I tried a ton of different juices and have even got a few friends and family on board as well.

I appreciate all of the help and support from ECF cause without y'all, I wouldn't have been able to do it! Happy vaping!

Ahhhh that is great I feel the same. I am just 10 days beyond you and wish I had found this years ago. Quitting the analogs was really easy for me. I am now set up with good Joye battery and Kanger Evod and thinking about getting the Kanger Protanks too. I worry about the glass part. I have dropped my vape a couple of times I may just take the chance though. Now i just need to find some good juice. I tried a bunch of flavors and didn't really like any of them. I am just using straight menthol and one that one of Vape stores gave me for free that is Watermelon/Spearmint. I was a light less than a PAD Misty Menthol 120 smoker for 44 years. I started out with 6mg and went to zero mg on the 8th day. No withdrawal, no nothing. Me thinks I am an ex smoker . I hardly vape at all now. Congrats to you. So glad it has worked for you too

I'm new to all the ecigs etc, and just wanted something that works to get me started. The starter kit is like $60. It isn't a little cigarette looking thing like the Blu, but I don't think you will get anything in that size, and also get a good vape, throat hit etc.

Actually you can: Joyetech eRoll.

It works with eGo C type A atomizers and a tank system so you do get the real thing in cigarette form factor without any of the stupid disposable expensive cartridge bs.
I paid some 75 bucks for mine including 30ml liquid and two atomizers. Couldn't be happier.

If you're looking for a cigalike give the eRoll a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Wow congrats! I can't believe you hardly vape at all now and that you are able to use 0mg! I'm a bit jealous lol.

I actually enjoy it and vape quite often. I started at 24mg and I am now down to 18mg. I like a lot of fruity flavors. I tried menthol as I was a Newport smoker, but didn't like it. As long as we are off the analogs that is all that matters right.

I love menthol juice being I just quit Newport's.
My local shores carry juices called nuport lol...I did okay with any tobacco menthol juice... In now a month without a cigarette and I'm stoked at how easy this has been. I quit smoking by accident.. To be honest. I'm tired if the money I waste on cigarettes when I can vape and than I discovered... I can smell.. Now I'm going up and down the stairs without being out of breath!!!
I started with a small regular ego...double hit n inhale and it got my nicotine in me..and smoked here and there...Than I got the MVP w new I clear 30 I quit smoking completely.I'm 60 days Vaping on January 18th!!!
I now added to the selection w an SID BY smok,a protank 3...and now getting into trying different ejuice.I also started and still am at 18mgs.
You can get away with stealth Vaping...in bathroom etc..nobody will smell a thing... Its not smoke
Good luck..sounds like this may be a pain that they don't allow smoking but it may have an upside for you if you give up cigarettes .that said..there are some who do both..BUT they figure every vape break is a cigarette less they smoked.
I found it hardest the first week and half. But not cause I needed a cigarette but because I felt like something was missing lol... going in my purse for cigs and lighters and coming up empty lol my vape was on my hand!!
I no longer do this.
Good luck!! I just wanted to recommend menthol juice for menthol smokers..or you'll crave still that menthol.

BTW the mvp2 is perfect..I palm it..nice boxed mod.u can use any tank on top..fit it in your pocket..it's not LONG like my SID(which I do love too lol)...its a reliable battery..you'll never have to worry about the battery dying at work.for me that's HUGE..I can't be out and about and worry about that...and than have a nicotine fit lol
I nicely recommend an mvp2..I charge every night regardless..sometimes I skip and it works two days...but will die halfway through second day.its an ego on steroids..I swear lol
It also has variable volts and wattage..go on you tube and check it out

I know crazy huh. I swear I really was a smoker for 44 years . Zero mg in 8 days seems unreal from all my reading. I had already been off the analogs for 5 days when I found and joined the group and found this thread. The starting at 24 mg and tapering down didn't fit me as I had been on the 6mg for the 5 days already and was doing fine. I just decided to get some zero mg and see what happened. I was worried that I was setting myself up for failure but not now. I have no desire to smoke analogs I easily go hours and hours without vaping. What I miss is the ritual part like after a meal, etc.... and the normal way of holding an analog which I can't get with my Joye/Evod setup. I found a good deal on an Joye Eroll and bought it. $48.00 for the start kit, free shipping and no tax I figured with as little as I vape it just might work for me. I should have it tomorrow. Now if I could just find a juice I liked. Really not into the fruity, bakery, alcohol flavors. Bleak I did find a juice that was supposed to be like a Misty Menthol from myfreedeomsmokes but had been hesitating on ordering it. Seemed crazy to pay $4.99 for a 10ml bottle and $5.95 to ship it. I decided today to order the Slim Liquid (15ml) and a Mini Protank. They just came out with a 10 percent off coupon. It wasn't much of a savings but made me feel better. I got it today . I have been puffing on it for the last hour or 2 on and off. It's okay. Definitely feels more like a real analog. The little tank is teeny weenie and hard to tell how much juice is in there Thank goodness I also ordered the little filler bottles. It would be near impossible to fill without the needle. It doesn't have a huge puff of vape but it is fine for me. I ordered my Slim juice. Can't wait to try it with that. My watermelon/spearmint with a little added Menthol is just so so. The flavor does come thru just fine though. I gotta be the pickest e-juice person on the planet. Me no likey nothin, so far anyway Oh my goodness. My ticker says it has been a month since my last and hopefully final analog. Whoop Whoop. Lets do the banana dance
