Hey guys, I'm just kind of introducing myself, since I have to gain post count to get into other areas of the forums.

I've tried vaping a couple times in the past, with those prefilled brands (blu, Njoy, and metro) I liked blu flavors decently, but went back to analog smokes after I ran out of cartridges. Njoy and metro both seemed to not be flavorful or smoky enough for me I guess, I couldn't really stick with those.

As for what I'm currently looking for, I want a small-ish e-cig (similiar in size to the 3 I've tried) I've basically narrowed my search down to buying the first 501 or 808 kit (something with 2 batteries, and a pcc is what matters) I know that bigger setups produce better / last longer etc. but I need something to replace the *feel* of an analog smoke. I'm okay with slightly thicker, or longer, just not anything that visibly doesn't look like an analog will throw me off.

The main reason I came to this forum, was to ask around to see if anyone knew where I could buy a pcc like this one I saw. It has plenty of storage for cartos (6 I think) and can charge two batteries, but everywhere I look its out of stock (except china and I prefer USA shipping) I would post a link to the ones I've found out of stock, but not allowed by the forums :(

Feel free to reply with your opinions on what I should try, use, how the 808/501 "analog-sized" will work, or just reply to say hey :) I'm very open to new ideas and opinions, would love some nice store links, advice on best menthol liquid suppliers whatever you have to offer!

For a cigalike look for one that uses the 510 thread; or if you're getting an 808 or one of those system, consider picking up along with it the adapter to screw it onto the now common 510 threaded eGo batteries

Finding adapters ain't so easy; you find one, then it turns out it's the opposite one to what you want.

Ty cleo and angel for the tips :)
Was wandering if I bought a 808 kit, would I be able to use the 501 (blu) charger with the 808 to 501 adapter?
Also, if I could use 501 (or 808 with adapter) cartomizers or clearomizers with the blu battery?

I have the blu pcc if I look hard enough (lost somewhere in my closet) along with the batteries, and wouldn't mind "salvaging" the parts I spent 50$ on a long time ago.

This is the type of charging case I was looking for if anyone knows where to get one. If I could get one of these, with two batteries, and a couple carts for 50$ I'd be set :) but everywhere is sold out that I find the pcc

One of the biggest problems with this stuff is hardware incompatibility.
Standard rule of thumb: use the correct charger for the battery; do not assume if the thing physically screws in that it should work; you might see some smoke coming out of it instead; maybe even get a bang. or a bzzzzzzzzzzztz.

Looks for a 510 threaded cigalike.

If you want to go a little bigger; pen size; get standard eGo batteries and a couple miniprotank2's; or for cheaper you can get the plastic evods- they use the same common replaceable atomizer heads and the protanks and a few other tanks so you can upgrade later, and the evods might be pretty common easy to find and cheap.

The standard eGo batteries come with both eGo thread and 510 thread, so if you have 510 threaded cigalike cartridges/cartomizers, they will work on the eGo battery.

This is a shame to hear about blus, does this mean that I would have to buy blu cartomizers to refill? or can I still use standard 510 carts? I did look there :) they have a pcc but it holds only one bat and a couple carts, maybe I'm being too picky though :p I didn't know about the sale though

I have a family member who uses halo :) and it is very nice, it is definitely on the maybe list.

So, I just pulled my blus out of the closet, and was surprised to see how old it is xD it says 2009 on the box, and uses a 3 piece (atomizer with punchthrough cartridges) I just plugged up the pcc and batteries to charge, hopefully since they didn't get used long they will be in decent shape :)

If the lithium batteries drop below 2 volts they won't recharge.

Mods that we use to run our pv's have an auto cutoff around 3.3 volts to keep the lithium battery from dropping too low and therefore preserve battery life.

Newb4:

You CAN use the Blu cartomizers on any 510 threaded device. This is good to know in case you run out of juice, or are on the road without juice. As far as the Blu batteries, you can THEORETICALLY use any 510 threaded device on top, but it may not work. The Blu battery is relatively weak and may not work well with something that needs more power. I know what you mean by trying to salvage that Blu kit, but sometimes you just have to accept defeat.

The reason people are suggesting an Ego type battery is that they last a LOT longer than the typical cig-alike, and are generally compatible with 90% of the toppers available. Have you tried an e-roll?? You can see it here, with PCC: Joye eRoll Electronic Cigarettes, Starter Kits & Accessories by Joyetech

ty guys for all the tips and info :) I can see that the eGo is the general consensus on the best beginners vaporizer.
and I understand that the blu equipment will be hardly useful for my future vaping :p was just trying to understand what I can and can't do with my leftover pcc and batteries. I saw a website that said if you send in an ecig you don't like they'll replace it with theirs, anyone happen to remember where this is? xD

In other news, it came time to buy a new pack of smokes a bit ago. I went to the store, and on impulse bought a blu disposable menthol stick to try and see if I can get used to vaping again. I remember the blu menthol being nice and "cool" on the throat, along with yummy menthol taste. I know its been a long time since I've had them, but boy is this thing nasty. I can hardly even tell its menthol by taste, and its incredibly harsh on my throat. I remember vaping feeling "cleaner" than analogs, but right now I can't believe I'm saying that the cheap analogs I smoke are smoother and tastier than this blu disposable. Its not a *huge* deal in the long run, because I wasn't planning on using blu as my choice, and I suspect that its just crappy flavoring or w/e. I just bought this thing to "hold me over" and I'm glad that I bought a pack of analogs in case it sucked lol.

what milligram strength is it? It's probably too high a strength for you.

24mg it was the only strength they had. I didn't realize the nictoine strength actually made a difference on how smooth it was. But I've also never tried different strengths :) I just figured the flavorings had most to do with it.

The hard part about vaping is gonna be finding that perfect go-to flavor that I can use daily. I'm already pretty picky about the kind of menthol analogs I smoke. So hopefully I don't go through 250ml of ejuice before I find the one xD

That's right; that's actually what the very first major hurdle is: finding a good flavor you can hang with; once you get that, you can stay off the smokecigs for a few weeks; once you stay off cigs for a few weeks, and can continue, you're pretty much home free.

It's like changing brands.

So I've noticed that some places have plain menthol ejuice, and then menthol tobacco. anyone know if the ones without tobacco flavoring are any smoother or different? Or just any tips on some super-smooth fresh tasty menthol juice would be fine :)

EDIT: ty tyler for the link :) I'll definitely have to give them a look. definitely a good enough price to be able to sample several flavors at once. Thought that'd be hard paying 10-15$ per 30ml on most sites :)

Hey just wanted to let you know about a new liquid site that sells 30ml bottles for $5 and 10ml for $2. Save yourself some money, same stuff as the vape stores, maybe even more flavorful. I got the Sugar Cookies and Apple Jacks and they are Awesome! They also have fruit flavors as well as desserts and tobacco.

Good Luck and Keep on Vapin

Two diff accounts posting same exact messages 0_o I feel like I've been spammed now.
EDIT: wow it seems by recent activity that its definitely a spam bot. The fact that this supplier is using spam makes me not want to purchase from them, whether or not I can get 30ml for half as much as the rest of the world lol.

:) latest update on my search for a starters setup
I just ordered one of these. The mailman better be ready to get stalked until it gets here lol.
Next step I'm going to pick up a couple manual 808 XL batteries from madvapes. Now I just need to find a great supply of ejuice :)

I had a question though, if anyone can answer, what resistance cartos are best for a normal (slim) 808 XL battery? (350mAh)
From what I gathered, the 2.5-3.0 ohm are fine, but the lower ones can be bad? I'm not sure just a bit confused for being so new :)

Lower resistance cartos on a 350 mah battery will suck the battery dry really fast. Not recommended. Did you see the kit at madvapes for 12.00 ?? run quick before they sell out!! It's in the Sale section.

In the cartomizer section, they have smoktech 808 cartos for $0.95 each too!

There's a good chart here: Madvapes Blog - Recommended Resistances

recommended resistances for batteries

2 ohms are good for smaller batteries.

Sent from my bird in a moist little package :p

Ty guys for the quick reply :) and yes cleo that is what I'm planning on getting it also comes with 12 cartos and a sampler! Just wish I could get black, but can't argue with a such a great deal. Will hopefully be ordering in the morning, was just a few bucks shy after I picked up that pcc (had to act fast on the pcc it was about to sell out)

Edit: forgot to add, so I'd be safe using a 2.2ohm clearomizer based on that chart? (also does it matter if I get the small 0.9ml ones compared to the larger 1.3ml+ ones that are slightly thicker?)

Nope, here's where size doesn't matter ;p As long as they are 808 thread!
