I'm sick of smoking cigs.. My girlfriend hates it, my family hates it, and now... I HATE IT! I've tried to quit smoking many of times but just can not seem to quit. I'm addicted to the process of smoking!

So now I'm here to try and get as much good information as I can and find the best deal in the ecig business.

I'm not sure how this forum work and if anybody actually reads the newbie posts but I have a few questions if anyone wants to answer them that would be great, if not that is fine too!

1) Who sells the best priced ecig? I just want something to try.. It doesn't need to be the very best..

2) Is there a ecig out there that has the same flavor as Marlboro Reds?

More personal question to each person...

3) How long did you smoke cigarettes for and did the ecig work for you?

Thanks for any responses.. I probably sound like a dumbass but oh well :)

Hi and welcome to ECF. Yes, quite a few people read the posts in the New Members section. In answer to your questions,

1) You may be able to find disposables at tobacco shops, convenience stores, or even Walgreens and Walmart. They're usually arouns $10 to $15. But they really aren't very good so don't let them turn you off to e-cigs in general if you get one and don't like it.

2) No. There's no e-liquid made that tastes exactly like your favorite smoke. But that's not to say you can't find something you like anyway. Try some of the tobacco flavors and you may find one that'll be ok for now. Once your taste buds have recovered from years of smoking you probably won't want to vape tobacco flavors all that much anyway. Some still do, most don't.

3) I smoked for over 30 years. I got an e-cig about 2 years ago and have only smoked tobacco 2 times since that day, and they tasted nasty. I'll never go back, I think I'd just give up nicotine first.

Check out the ego C, vaporgod.com has great prices. As far as Marlboro flavers go, I'm not too sure about that. I can say that "RY4 Tobacco" flavor from vaporgod satisfied my tobacco flavor cravings for a long time, though it is rather sweet and caramel like in flavor. And I smoked for about 7 years, about a pack a day and the ecig worked for me the as soon as I got one. haven't had a puff since October 3rd 2011

The best priced quality ecigarette I've seen is the Volt from Smokeless Image. Many people move on from the small types of batteries that they sell, but the quality is good and some people stick with them and are satisfied with it. If you look at the reviews on this forum, they are pretty positive. You can get a basic kit, with one battery for $16.76 if you use a discount code (not including shipping). They also have an ongoing promotion on this forum where you take a picture of yourself with your Volt, and get a free battery, so you could get everything you need to start out for under $20. I have a volt, and I haven't smoked a cigarette in over a month. I smoked 1-2 packs a day for almost 20 years.

I want to second kooky's recommendation of the volt. You don't have to pay that much for the best, but it'll make a big difference in your chances of making this work. The Volt is a great company and their e-cig is the best of the mini-ecigs.

I hate mini-ecigs, but I still recommend the Volt, so that should tell you something.

I quit a 40 year, 3 pack a day habit instantly. As soon as my first e-cig was charged up, I never smoked again. That's not everyone's experience, but it's not that unusual either. Whatever you get, if you don't care for it, be aware that there's always something else out there that you will like, and it's worth it to hunt it down.

Meanwhile, check out the Volt at SmokelessImage.com

Hi Chasedyson,
I also started on the Volt cig-a-like. Like almost all noobs, I was adamant I need something that looked and felt like I still had a malboro in my hand. Within weeks I had bought a Volt X2 (bigger, not like HUGE, but more cigar in size. I have not looked back since. Nor have I touched my little cig-a-like.

1 Friends have quit with V1P. I quit with Volt.
2 You can buy e-liquids that resemble brands, but I agree with cskent. If you try a Volt, perhaps buy a sampler pack of cartridges so you get to taste the different flavours, including RY4, tobacco with hints of caramel and vanilla.
3 I smoked for almost 20 years, and was on a pack a day until my Volt arrived. I've not touched one since.

Good luck, happy researching. Half the fun is learning and trying.

I've smoked almost 30 years straight and I'm not having any problem not wanting them anymore and I think Taste has a lot to do with it. Not one of the sample tobacco flavors I bought even came close to my regular brand but the flavors!! Wow! Now those were something special! Especially the minty ones. Get powerful flavors to start with. I understand that as time goes on my taste buds will recuperate and I may appreciate the more subtle flavors.

I’m sure someone knows what nicotine level you should start with coming from Marlboro Reds.

That’s my two cents and my Third Post! Woo Hoo!

Oh, and the people here are Awesome!!

I tried a few e cigs whilst still smoking and did not actually quit smoking regulars until I found the Titan 510 Mega Manual. Some of the other e cigs I had were hit and miss, but the Titan I got a consistent throat hit, which as a smoker who had tried various NRT methods that left me craving a cig so bad, I realised was what I really wanted.

I was a 40 a day smoker, also for 30 years actually, since I was 12 (not a cute kid). I actually use quite a low strength now, 8mg and less only, although I started off at 24mg high strength and get e liquid that is just PG and nicotine ( I am not keen on the VG or PEG, but I guess thats personal preference, I find PG is a better thorat hit and less clouds of vapour).

I like the Titan 510 because as long as I keep connections clean, I rarely require new atomisers or batteries. The mega version has long battries so last longer. They also have some good accessories like car chargers and multi chargers. I am never without mine.

Hi chase, welcome to ECF! We were all total noobs at some point. :)

I smoked for 37 years, about 50 handrolled no-filter smokes a day, and nothing worked to get me to quit. I've vaped for about 2 1/2 months now....spent a week fooling around with disposable e-cigs, then got a KGO, loved it so much I bought a second one, like this:
Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

I also read very good things about the Volt.

I've ordered a ton of different types of juices in various categories (fruit, candy, drinks, bakery, tobacco, complex, etc) to find what worked for me. I'm finding I don't care for straight tobacco flavors, don't like mint or menthol, adore most coffee and bakery blends...it's quite an adventure finding what works! Since flavor is such a subjective thing, you really do need to experiment. I'm mostly doing 24 mg nic level, ordered a few in 30 nic level which works well for when I REALLY crave, like first thing in the morning with my coffee, or after a meal.

Try to find a bric-and-mortar shop close to you and go, ask questions, handle the merchandise, support the local economy!

cskent offered a great, brief and concise reply and the rest of you have made great suggestions already

to the OP, many people who start out want something that looks like a real cigarette, if thats you and you are hell bent on doing it, go with smokeless image, vapor for life or cig easy......all three of those are very reliable vendors and the cost is very minimal, you can get set up for less than the price of a carton...if you go with vapor for life be sure to check for an online coupon as their stuff is usually marked down 25% or so

if you think you'd like to jump right in to a device that provides long battery life, durability and has more options go ahead and get an eGo or one of its knockoffs and give it a shot...i'd stay away from anything marked "advanced" or "mod" right now with the possible exception of the e-power (which some consider a mod)...you need some time to learn...once you are familiar with how it all works, you can jump up and try some of the more advanced stuff

try to keep it simple at first is what I tell most newbs

Hi chasedyson, congrats on your decision and welcome to ECF. If you are concerned about cost you may want to purchase the E-Power. True 3.7 Volts, long battery life and many of my friends are very happy with it. It's generally cheaper thatn most other PVs because the batteries are separate from the actual unit. Normally extra or replacement batts will cost $15+ but the E-Power batts can be bought 2 for under $9.00.
Crystal Clear Vaping
The Volt and Kgo are also good PVs.
Good Luck.

I got lucky in a flavor (something mixed by a local guy for me that was supposed to resemble camel menthol ... close but not quite there but good) I liked right off. I sat down at home after I got my kit and had one more traditional cigarette and while smoking it I basically told myself this will be the last one because I have found a better solution. And low and behold, almost 3 weeks later I still haven't gone back. Haven't even had the urge to be honest. Everyone is different of course, but once you find your right flavor/strength, that's where it helps. I got off the idea of tobacco flavors pretty quick. My sit at home chain vaping flavor is High Caliber Cherry in 12mg (Lower strength since I'm kind of chaining it) and HC's Killa Vanilla in 24mg for when I am on break at work. The extra nic helps get me from break to break, since I doubt I will ever be able to vape on the job.
