To all the newbies out there please don't be overwhelmed by all this info here. I been cig free for 4 months and this is my setup ego twist with a kanger protank mini. Granted I have 2. They have worked flawlessly with just some basic coil maintenance and good juice And i am very happy. Just to let you know u can get off really cheap and vape like a pro...In have those tanks filled with Hawksauce and Grape both from mount baker Vapor and got the Protank minis and ego's off ebay. Dont see any reason to upgrade at this time...

fasttech was a god sent for me else i'd not be able to afford to vape :)
I know it's slow shipping but really highly recommend for new vapers to check them out as you can get things dirt cheap and experiment to find out what it is that you like and don't like without going broke and then once you find what works for you, if you want spend more money at other places if you really are against shopping from china or can't stand the wait
(just always read the reviews/discussions and ask questions here in the forums before placing an order :D )

but yes I think everyone's first gear should be a variable voltage ego with a metal vivi nova (top coil tank, warmer vape) and a glass protank type tank (bottom coil tank, cooler vape) to see which you prefer.

I'm just now trying out a cartotank it's on it's way....

You are right about it being a bit overwhelming to new vapers. When I started vaping 2 years ago there wasn't as much available so in some ways it was simpler. It is nice to have a lot more to choose from but you don't need a lot of equipment, or the latest and greatest thing, to have a good satisfying vape. I think that some new people feel like they are missing out on something better if they don't have more advanced equipment which just adds to the confusion when they are starting out. You made a good point and I hope a lot of new people read your post.

I did a lot of research when I decided to make the switch to vaping, and yeah, it was very overwhelming. I read this forum and many others for a couple weeks or so, and decided not to go with the SVD and a Protank 3 to supplement the iclear 30's that came with it. I think I caught the gear bug though and have on order several aero bases(difficult to find in stock by the way) a Fogger RDA, a Kayfun 3.1 clone, and some stuff to start rebuilding. I figure I'll start rebuilding before I do any DIY juice, so I've got about 30 sampler bottles in the mail as well. I really hope my wife doesn't find out how much I've spent

I started with an eGo vv2 and an EVOD tank. It still works and I use it every day at work. There is a lot of superb equipment out there that wont put you in the poor house. I spent extra money on a SVD but it wasn't because I felt the need to. It was just a want for me and I just got my tax refund. Had been off the smokes longer than anyone in my family thought it would last and felt like spoiling myself. Don't even care if I spent too much for it. Made me happy, haven't smoked and the juices are great! What else is there?

Thanks to you for this post. I have a simple ego system, with evod clearomizers and they work very well. I did just recently get a couple of Vision Spinners, and will now have my original egos for my back ups.

I think it's important for newcomers to understand that you don't have to have the "latest and greatest" to get started on vaping, and stopping smoking!

I have been using the same twist and pro tank mini set up since October and I love it. I have been doing my research into mods and and rba's looking to take the next step though. There is just so much out there to uncover and understand. That's why I have joined this site to try and learn some more before I invest in a new set up.

I'm not sure if I felt overwhelmed or not, but was worried I would buy the wrong thing and vaping would not work for me. What I discovered was that everyone's vape journey is different. There are still times when I wonder if there is something wrong with me because I am very satisfied with using fairly simple gear, Vision Spinners and Kanger MT3S clearos. But they seem to be working for me. The desire to get "new and shiney" hasn't hit me (yet). Where the bug has really hit me is with regard to juices. Am building a juice supply that will last about 6 months (in case the sky falls). I love what I have, but still keep ordering different flavors. The other place the bug has hit is that I never want to run out of anything, so I have tons of extra clearos and coils.

I read about the mods, rebuilding and DIY and am open that those things may be in my future, but my vaping world is the perfect size for me at this point in time. My primary goal was to quit cigarettes. Being analog free is the most important part of this deal for me. What helps me accomplish that goal is to have a vape experience that satisfies me and gives me some pleasure. What I am using and the path I am on satisfies me, gives me a great deal of pleasure and encourages better health by remaining cigarette and tobacco free.

I love that the folks in ECF support one another with regard to individuality of our vaping styles, equipment and experience. I am more grateful than I can put into words.

Keep the vape and namaste.

Excellent point! I started with the basic Ego-c kit, and now have an Ego Twist, Vision Spinner, with Kanger T3's and Evod's. I'm pretty sure I may upgrade, sometime later, but for now I'll just slow down and try to learn what I can, first. Meanwhile, I'm keeping all my old coils. I'd like to learn how to rebuild them, and that's probably what I'll try next. There's so much info here that it's sometimes hard not to become overwhelmed. Thanks for the reassurance!
