If someone wants to be treated with respect, then they should show some respect. I've seen people come in here and say that the products taste like a double ess, call them disgusting and multiple other downright nasty things. That is not simply a negative comment that is just plain flat out disrespectful no matter where it is posted and I have no idea what they think anyone is supposed to say to something like that. For the most part, even these kinds of posts are answered respectfully by members here.

When I see this, it tends to shut down the niceness in me. I seldom see anyone fall through the cracks here unless they insist on falling through them with their own behavior. After all, those trying to help them are not paid employees of V4L, V4L is the business end of this forum, we're simply users and posters. Whatever time we invest here is voluntary.

There's not much we can do for anyone that doesn't like the taste of the juice, I've had plenty I didn't like, too, from many vendors, but I didn't come in here or go over to their forum and slam them for it, either. You take your chances anytime you order ejuice on whether you are going to like it or if you are not, it is not a returnable product. Anyone want to see my collection that I deem unvapable?

Perhaps the expectations from posters who are simply trying to help others here are set a bit too high. All we are able to do is relate our experiences to others as they've happened to us. And since we are here because we like the product for the most part and like this company, it is tough to see some of this stuff go on.

This place runs pretty smooth for the most part, but I've been here a few months and we've defiitely had some people in here trolling, this tends to set regular's teeth on edge at times. And no, I do not mean that anyone complaining about something is a troll. If you are new, stick around for awhile, you will know them when they come.

So this knife cuts both ways and I just thought I'd point that out.

Hey Pugz

2 points, besides the fact that I agree.

Some of those "people" the rabble rousers, are (a) jealous and (b) jealous. The first is that we generally enjoy the support and each other and the second is that we love simplicity and the product A LOT, (they wish they did too but can't help themselves).

It;s easy for them to be upset with what they perceive to be fanboys (and girls), cause we are. Some people find that difficult to accept.

New folks (in particular) will post as they post, I have no problems if they seem upset and confused, we're here to help them figure it out, and end up smiling.

I think it's more the responsibility of "non-noobs" to reply calmly, maturely and in a constructive fashion to folks who post when disappointed for whatever reason.

Sure, it'd be nice if newbies did a little research first, but then they wouldn't really be newbies, would they?

Agree 100% Someone new to vaping already has been OVERWHELMED with new info just trying to figure out what device, flavor, mg, battery, charger, adapter, pass through etc to choose.

Experienced vapers should be willing to help out new users. If not, they don't have to even open the thread, or read it.

but also if one wants to gripe let them ,maybe they are asking for help in a different way than we would like . sometimes pride can be a MF .

That was an insightful statement, rain! It makes me think that there are a few with problems with social skills. I will be more mindful of this from now on. Thank you.:)

Yes, I can't deny that we do get some posters who seem to post here only to diss the products, which I notice they often haven't even tried. I don't know what their problem is, but they're pretty easy to spot. Some people just need to find a life...sooner rather than later.

I *hated* smoking when I started, yet I kept at it. I have no idea why.

I *loved* vaping from the get-go.

This is my favorite part of the ECF forum, but it has to be said: there is a culture here that is a bit...unprofessional. V4L is a BUSINESS, not a fan club. This may be the V4L sub-forum, but it is part of a greater whole: the e-cig forum and the growing vaping community. It's great that we're all so enthusiastic about the product - which I do firmly believe is the best one out there - but we need to remember that there are many, many lurkers out there who are watching what happens when someone is literally attacked for posting a negative comment. It's very bad PR; it is very bad for business.

Both negative and positive comments should be welcome and encouraged. If everything is always happy-happy, the business owners won't know when something needs to be tweaked or fixed. If customers are taken to task because they make a negative comment - and yes, it happens here - they will be turned off of the product altogether.

I think that some posters have just lost sight of the fact that some of V4L's products are going to be bad. It's an emerging technology; a relatively new product; new flavors that are untested by large numbers of people. They're not going to get everything 100% out of the gate. V4L can't properly grow and improve if everyone feels obligated to (or bullied into) praising products if they don't deserve it. If a batch of cartos taste like perfume, it does not do V4L any good if posters pretend otherwise. Leaford needs to know the truth so he can do his job.

Please have tolerance for the newbies and the disgruntled. They're paying customers, too.

I agree 100%.

This board (ECF) is about 4 years old! We are all new! I have always objected to the newbie..newbee whatever title. There was a time on here where it was very derogatory. Post count aside (so I am a chatty cathy)
I have lots to learn about my new obsession. I think questions and even some complaints are great..it clears the air and gives everyone a chance to discuss/improve the products. Most vendors have big shoulders and can take a complaint or six.
But I have to say, the people who come into a supplier forum and start acting defensive and complaining before they even have thier first dead battery or spent cartomizer need to get a grip! Take the comments intended to stir the pot to the general e-cig discussion section.
If you have a real problem..then take it up by P.M to Mark or Steve. If you have a question about how it works or what's the best flavor..ask us!
We function as a support group, a friendship group and an advice and suggestion group.
And BTW, Skinny, I am NOT referring to you! I am talking about a few trolls who were working my last nerve!

Very well put MaryKay:)

I think we all have to remember, and keep in perspective, that this business is one of the few that has actual representatives answer concerns. You can buy a television, a cell phone, a couch, or an ipod, and while you can vent preferences on a forum, you can not and proably will not ever speak with the owner of the company directly. This does not absolve V4L from any warranted criticism, and certainly opposing opinions should be embraced, not silenced.

At the same time, a certain etiquette exists, or should exist, where the company (any company) is given the opportunity to right an error prior to being vilified in an open forum. Mark and Steve are doing everyone a tremendous service by being here to field questions and concerns. They throw contests, give away free items with every order, and work night and day to satisfy. Personally, after 7 months, I have had my share of issues, but they were quickly and cordially corrected.

Someday, V4L might be too big to exist in its current business model. So while I do agree that it is a company and is subject to its share of criticism, we all need to remember that this "company" goes above and beyond the services of nearly every other company on the planet. Let's not lose sight of the tremendous relationship we have established....

i've been running a forum, unrelated to vaping, for years--and this is so true, and so true of human nature. some people are more... prickly, or downright rude... than others. however, assuming they aren't trolls, such people can often be assisted and helped. very well said, rain.

In every forum there are bottom dwellers that thrive on negative attention. If they can upset some one they feel that gives them power over that person. Vapor4Life gets alot of their attention for two reasons. One is one of the most active sub forums around. Look at how many are viewing at a time. Sometimes its almost a 1/4 in all the forums by my estimates. So you if you attact vapor4life right off the bat you have the biggest audience. Second is V4L has a passionate fan base. Good chance of getting some one upset

Normally those folks are easy to tell. If the products not for you, then hey its not for you. Talk of customer service woes.......and never any details just vague I had problems, all my friends had problems. Equipment break down...again no real details because if there was details it could be fixed. The anti populist attitude is common too. Oh those V4L folks are a cult they dont care about the facts ect. For some reason alot of people like V4L some how that in itself makes it a flawed product.

As far a equipment. Man a battery , rechargeable lithium no less with a microprocessors for $15. Its crazy to think theres not going to be issues at times. To have a great guarantee really makes it no risk for you.
