I am still using mine daily and loving it! I have since purchased one of those better known high end APVs we all know about, but I still find myself using the Apollo Stainless VTube as I prefer how certain hardware (DCTs) perform on it over the other.

Hey Jeepster,

How are you enjoying your SS unit?

You know what just occurred to me the other day? Ok, so all of us with stainless tubes, clearly they're limited edition, and there aren't supposed to be any more made after this initial 'run', correct? Well what happens if in the course of the year one of them needs to be replaced, completely? What will Apollo replace them with, or are they holding a few back (ie: not quite selling ALL of the stainless tubes) just in case? Reason I'm asking is I know a few people who've ordered the stainless tubes did so because of a copper or nickel allergy, so a chrome tube would never work for them.

It only makes sense that spare/replacement top caps, bottom caps and the silicone boot/diaphragm should be offered for sale.

The opening for the center post is not completely sealed and juice can and will get into the top cap. The silicone diaphragm does a great job keeping the juice from getting into the electronics. (Great engineering) The diaphragm should be checked and cleaned periodically. Some juices may degrade the silicone. I flooded the top cap taking off a tank that came apart in the process, oops. Liquid flooded the inside of the top cap but the diaphragm prevented any damage to the electronics. I unscrewed the top cap and cleaned it up. A piece of cake. Replacing the diaphragm periodically is good insurance to prevent the electronics from being fried. These diaphragms are incredibly cheap to produce and very easy to replace.

And the notion that basic and/or preventative maintenance on a PV could lead to failures, injury and liability is ludicrous. I routinely order parts for and maintain my SCUBA regulators. (Life support equipment)

+1

Hi panto911, can you send a picture to support@apolloecigs.com to show the problem? We will see if we can get some parts from the factory.

Hey Sunny, thanks for the great customer service! I already talked to someone from your site. They said you guys already tried getting these replacement gaskets and the manufacture is not cooperating? Well this puzzles me, as I want to maintain and keep the circuitry of my two SS Apollo VV Tubes in good condition. I only took the top caps off a couple times to clean them really good to get all the juice off the rubber. These rubber gaskets are very thin and will rip or wear down over time, even if they're not taken off to clean. Here is some pictures of what I'm talking about, dont mind my dirty hands, I work on cars. lol

We always keep spare parts, the ss is very durable, so it is very rare for this to happen and if it does we have a one year warranty!

Oh no, I have no doubt you guys will make it right, I just wondered what you would replace them WITH during the warranty if all the steel tubes are gone. lol But then someone mentioned you're holding a few back just in case, and quite sure very few would have to be replaced fully, anyway. ;) Awesome contest thread, btw!!!

I get that B, this is more like I have to be sitting and concentrate to get it started, even then it wobbles and goes from easy to tight when turning. It is a pain to put on any tanks without flanged cartos. I thought it would work itself out by now but it hasn't (I keep forgetting it is SS). One I do get something on it is fine. Just can't change my liquid delivery hardware when I am driving, walking, or moving at all. Didn't mind at first, but has been annoying me lately for some reason.

I'm having the same thing on my ss. I saw that your new one had shipped, so if you would let me know if the tight turning is gone on the new one. I'm not really sure if this is a fault, or just how the threading is, cuz like you said, once I get it on there, it works fine with my ce3's, just takes some doing to get it on, and the turning gets tight, so at first I wondered if I should even keep turning it. But other than that this thing is amazing!

I also need to get some sort of adapters to use my vivi nova 2.5 (airholes on the stem) and ce4's apparently though. Rachel's been helping me with that on the noob thread which I really appreciate.

Deb, the new one threads just like every other 510 device I own. So much better.

I haven't tried a vivi on it yet. Never thought there would be an issue. Rachel will lead you in the right direction for sure though.

Anyway, if it is difficult I would recommend sending it in. Apollo is great about getting it in and a new one out quickly. Great customer service.
