So, weird things are happening to my ss vtube. The led turne itself on and resets to 3.0, as though I had just changed batteries...anyone heard of this?

I am having the same problem with mine. One of my batteries makes it happen constantly, the other it gets worse as it drains... Battery or VTube? I asked for new batteries 2 weeks ago and never for a response so I asked again today. I hope It is the battery.

Had a similar issue with mine when I first got it. Turned out to be a bit of gunk on the + battery contact inside and a somewhat weak - spring. I stretched the spring a bit, cleaned the contacts and now it works fine. I always set mine down upright. Every time I did, it bounced the battery just enough to separate the battery from the + contact. Since I stretched the spring, the battery sits against the contact much stronger. It makes putting the bottom cap on a tad more difficult but it's a good trade off IMO.

Not saying it's the problem with yours, but it may be worth a shot.

Hi, just reading your posts about batteries ...

"i thought the same, but both my batts are doing it. what are the odd..."

i've both the regular and the mini apollo ... and i can tell you: Some batteries are NOT DOING IT WELL!

Just look on this diagram with IMR 18350 and the discharge rate at 2 Ampere:ohmy:
f55t52316p826341n2.png

Low performer are the Thrustfire protected 1200 (orange line)

Only the AW IMR 18350-700 (red line), the vmax IMR 750mAh (purple line) and NoName XBOMB ICR 18350 (olive line) are out performing.

So for an owner of the apollo mini it is recommended to take only IMR batteries with "safe chemistry". This would either be the AW IMR 18350-700 but he better choice is the vmax IMR 18350 750mAh. That's because it also has no "nipple" at the plus pole like these ones apollo delivered with and these batts were "especially constructed" for the Vmax batteries stacking.

I have now testeded 4 of these Vmax over the last 2 month and i only can tell they not even performing much better than the "original" (red / blue) ones from apollo and they last almost the double time bevor the are going down. Only negative thing is (here in germany) you pay almost the double price for the Vmax batts and they are only available as a pair. But for "heavy chain vapers" or people who are not willing to spend there time as a "battery changer" i would recommend them.

... hope i could help ...

vape on

p.s. If there is interest ... i also can post a diagram for 18650 batts

i understand what you're saying that some batteries perform better for others, but would a battery cause this strange behavior when it begins to poop out?

I have some AW batteries that will fully charge, hold a charge and seem fine. But when I place them in my mod they drop voltage rapidly after just one use. So it very well could be a battery issue. Have you tried getting the Vtube to give you a battery voltage reading when the problem arises?

Just to chime in on this topic...My AW 18350 batteries are showing serious signs if wear after only about 2 months. I rotate PV's so the VTube itself is not used daily. The one of my batts came with the unit, one from Super T. I'm sure the one from Super T is genuine, Not sure about the "supplied" one.

I do notice a "warm" tube after using for a little bit, I would highly recommend getting another set of batteries just to eliminate that as being the source.

they are out of stock now (not the short) when the SS going to be available?

My understanding and the reason I purchased one (the SS) is that it was to be a one time only run, and limited to about 1000, and would not be made again. So to answer your question, my guess would be never.
