Smaller sheets 6x6 for $2.41 and I think that equals 6¢ a square inch, so your deal is probably the cheapest.
Stainless Mesh small sheet - Wicks / Wire / Mesh - Mods & RBAs - MyFreedomSmokes
Thanks for that link. I have some points I can use at MFS to knock the cost down to about 5 cents per sq. in. (for 325, including shipping), so that's a go! I went ahead and got the 400 mesh off eBay so if 325 or 400 mesh doesn't get it done, I'll try adding rayon!! lol

Well a friend on a different group picked up an In'Ax MK IIR Authentic of course. Myself not being as flush with coin went looking for the clone on fasttech. I just might have to get one of these...

Anyhow this is basically the exact same build type as the NG, so I found a video linked in the Discussions on how to wick this with mesh and a little Ekowool sock. This eliminates any possibility of hot spots and should work quite easily.

If my shipment from SV ever gets here I'll give this a try.
The video is not english but quite easy to understand, the Ekowool bit starts at the 11:00 mark which should already be set.

You are most welcome!
I thought about Rayon or a skin piece that we peel off of Japanese cotton wrapped on the inside first. Unfortunately that would get rid of all possibilities to dry burn for cleaning. :)

One of the guys in the Origen FB group wraps his mesh wick top to bottom with that Fiber Freaks Gourmet Rayon. Sort of defeats the purpose of the mesh to me, but what ever works for him. :thumb:

May want to give "JUNE40COIL" a shot as well, should be good for everything in that section of MFS shop, including the mesh, 40% off.

I've been enjoying my MK IIr for a while now, though I do prefer a straight mesh build on it.

Again I hate to sound like a broken record but TC mod and Ribbon nickel wire is the way to go with this mod. The set up will take one minute and the vape is out of this world good. Honestly it is the best vape I have ever had and with the easiest set up.

Now if you want to set up with kanthal....the way I did it was make perfect coil using 26g wire and a jig. Wrap some mesh around the spare post that they supplied. Take the post out. Fit the mesh inside the coil where the mesh is making good contact with the coils. Take the coil/mesh combo and fit it on positive post of the atomizer. First attach the wire at the top with nut on top and then trap the wire at the bottom with negative screw at the base. Basically this like doing a Petar k set up. I used a 3mm jig, 26g wire, 325mesh (18mm x 60mm). I have used the method above to do 10-12 wraps of kanthal. It would be impossible to do that by free handing it. You need to make the coil first using a jig. Hope this helps people out.

Anytime. Try to find the original Petar K video if you can. The concept is to make perfect coils first. Then wrap a flexible perfectly round wick. Then fit the wick inside the coil so that it makes contact with coils but not too much contact ( this can only achieved by trial and error). If done correctly it is the best way to set up a genny IMHO.

But going the TC route really is the way to go. Here is a budget TC mod that is super well made and works unbelievably well:

$59.81 ZERO Modz Styled VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod - 1-60W / 1*18650 / w/ temperature control function / SS at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You can see reviews of it if you search out Geeco Zero mod (even though it is made by SXK/Infinity).

Yes nickel wire is basically non resistance wire. All the shorting problems etc that happens with Kanthal and mesh doesn't happen with nickel. Imagine if suddenly mesh didn't conduct electricity. That is what is like when using nickel wire and mesh....the resistance of the nickel wire is so low that there are no shorts with mesh. Ribbon wire works better with gennies than regular round wire. You can get nickel ribbon wire from StealthVape.

I'm really enjoying this atty, but I have an air leak somewhere and it's ticking me off. Even after replacing all the o-rings. Guess I'll submerge it later, blow, and see where the bubbles come from.

Would you more experienced users recommend opening up the juice holes for max vg? If so, how much? I'm getting some dry hits, and I'm hoping once I solve the air leak issue they will go away...but if they don't I'm planning on drilling the juice holes out.
