Have you or anyone else tested the impact of repeateded freeze-thaw that might be experienced when someone frequently removes a freezer-kept supply to mix their DIY recipes?
Not that I'm aware of, but my gut says it's not a great idea, particularly with a bottle that's repeatedly opened.

My personal mixing technique obviates the need to have a "working bottle" of high-test nic, but if I did mix that way, I believe I would keep that bottle in the fridge, not the freezer.

I keep my working bottle in the fridge. No problems I can detect to this point.

Guess I'd better pull my working bottle out of the freezer.

Oy... Have I been doing it wrong all this time? I never really "defrost" my nic. Mine is all NN Armor ( a couple of old V2s and the rest V1, sealed with Argon). I take the V2 bottles out, give them a good shake and then insert a luer slip syringe into the opening, turn the bottle upside down, and draw what I need into the syringe! Then I dilute it and store the working bottle in the fridge. The mother bottle goes back into the freezer.

Not good?

I just cracked open another from 2016 (yesterday), and did a quick test today. It was fine (as the past ones have been).

My liter (glass) bottles go straight into the freezer upon receipt. When I'm ready for "next", I let it thaw for a day, then pour it out into eight 125 ml amber/glass bottles. One of the eight remains out, the rest go back into the freezer.

So far, I've yet to experience anything negative (touch wood).

I think You are Doing Fine.

And I Wouldn't Worry about something that Carolina Xtract says that No One here has seen. Or can even Figure Out.

Thanks Zoid. I just wasn't sure about this whole defrosting business.

Carolina Xtract is full of it, if you ask me. Whatever, I never got their nic and now I probably never will anyway. I'm stuck with what's in my freezer. ;)

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you've probably got enough. :D

...

Not good?

BTW - I'm thinking about putting together a Test.

Where I put 30ml or so of 100mg/ml PG Nicotine Base in the Freezer. Then take it out after 12 Hours and let it "thaw". Then Pop it back in the Freezer and Repeat like a Dozen Times.

Then I'll vape it and See if I go Blind.

The Freeze/Thaw a Dozen Times would Simulate a WCS (Worst Case Scenario) for transferring Long Term Stored Nicotine Base to Working amounts.

Agreed.

I'm Not Say'n that they Don't have Quality Nicotine. They Probably do. But I Think they painted themselves into a corner with that Original FAQ say'n Don't Freeze.

Remember that whole Fiasco that Dr. F. got into with the Coil Dry Burning thing? He Didn't mean to Mislead anyone. Just maybe Spoke too Quick. And should have Phrased things Differently.

I kinda Think this is what is going on with Carolina Xtract.

Well, actually, I'm really not sure. I have a bunch of premade eliquids that I need to go through before they go stale. After that, I have about 10+ years' worth of nic (at 12 mg/ml). I've been mixing a bit lower nowadays as the devices have greatly improved since our early days, so maybe 12+ years. And I really don't want to vape 12-year-old nic. So there. We'll figure something out--even if I have to drive to San Diego to fetch more nic in person.

I agree with zoid. I’m not even sure what they are talking about and who they’re talking to. They have all sorts of different customers using nic in different ways. So who knows where they are coming from.

That's my plan A. I am going to keep contact info of nicotine vendors in case they take their websites down at some point. Maybe in 10 years or so I will find reason to drive 10+ hours to get nicotine in person.

Plan B is to use 20-40 year old nicotine from the freezer. If it works just as fine as day 1 then no need to drive anywhere.

My concern with plan A is that nicotine might not be available to consumers at a later date or it might be taxed at such a level as to not be affordable.

I don't know, I think Carolina Xtract is onto something. One time I let a bottle of nicotine freeze and thaw repeatedly, then I accidentally opened it one night past midnight. This is what came out:
