When I first started I found the 12 mg too strong so I did 6 mg for a week or so , problem was that I started to chain-vape
so I got vaper mouth...

Due to Vaper Mouth I wasn't getting too much satisfaction out of 6 mg so I crank it us to 9-12 mg , better throat hit and taste buds start coming back because I vape like a smoker now roughly for the duration of one analog and then stop , go out for another vape after 30 minutes to one hour and so on.

I am concerned about the fact that I started to feel less throat hit at 9 mg so now I'm only getting real satisfaction at 12-18 mg.

My goal is/was to quit smoking which was achieved but I am concerned about this trend on steadily increasing my nic in the juice.
Is this a common occurrence or is just me getting hooked on nic ?

BTW this is my 50'th post

I can't vape without nicotine. I also can't drink decaf coffee or nonalcoholic beer. It's a mental thing.

I started at 18 mg then dropped down to 6 (as I was trying to reduce my nicotine dependence), then got hooked on 36 mg from a free sample from a vender. I've stayed at 36 for quite a while and I don't see any problem with it. Nicotine isn't any more of a problem than caffeine.

That being said, the first few hits of the day are usually the strongest, throat hit wise. Constant use will reduce the hit, but it'll return if you abstain for a period of time.

I smoked cigarettes for almost 30 years. I don't care if I keep vaping for the next 30, or not ;) Don't push yourself.

I quit smoking by chain vaping 36mg and got sick after a day and half of that. Dropped down to 24mg, which is probably the best level for me for now but because I'm between jobs and home a lot AND I like vaping I cut it further to 18mg. I vape more than I do on 24mg, some of that is because the nicotine level is a bit low, some of that is because I like to vape. :)

I also recently got into super low resistance vaping and sub-ohm, which I *cannot* tolerate at even 18mg so I cut it back further to 9mg for that but I'm also inhaling more vapor so...

24mg is still what I would take if I am going out or had a job where I couldn't vape any time I felt like it.

Congrats on 50 posts
1 1//2 yrs ago I started at 36 mg and vaped 50-60+ ml per week. Now down to 2 mg X 15- 20 ml per week. I also have some 6 mg in times of stress. I found NO TH in 2 mg until I upped my PG/ VG ratio to 85% PG- PG is s throat irritant. Also have added menthol and I can actually feel TH. Having VV/ VW is a must for me and that's the one and only reason I got into VV/ VW...to increase my TH. I was supposed to quit vaping last New Years...didn't happen and I'm not bothered in the least.
Just my own personal program but I chose to lower my nic very slowly thereby taking the stress factor out. My GP believes nic is no more worse than caffeine.

Best of Luck and, most importantly, Enjoy The Ride

I started at 24mg (I used to be a 3 pad chain smoker). After 2-3 months, my body said that was too high, so I dropped to 15-18mg. Over the course of 8 months, I've dropped (because my body told me to) down to 9-10mg. I agree that the lower nic does not give really enough TH, but I get a little more by using more PG, like 80/20. Also some flavors (cinnamon for example) helps give more TH. Some equipment (if the draw is airy, or low voltage) also lower TH. So to keep the TH at lower nic levels takes some experimenting with PG/VG ratios, different equipment, and different flavors.

Summary for more TH at lower nic.
1. Stronger flavors.
2. More PG.
3. I use regular cartos for less airy draw.
4. Low resistant cartos, higher voltage bats.

Just my experience, YMMV

I started 3 years ago at 24mg and today I am all the way down to 3mg. Funny thing, you can still make yourself kind of sick vaping 3mg if you vape too much of it (found this out the hard way when I got my first hh357 and couldn't stop blowing huge clouds of vapor all over my house.) I may try and go to zero nic one day but considering my huge stash of juice it probably won't be for a while.

personally I didn't start vaping to quit smoking.....my kids and the smell etc...I wanted to minimize it because I felt like a terrible mother and person and human. The nasty looks and attitude (even when they didn't know I had kids) and the irritation at needing nicotine when out and about with the kids....
so I started with 36mg cigalike, ordered a few juices at 24mg and didn't like any and only liked the 12mg freebie juice.
Got some more 24mg and I felt all jittery and VERY mild hangover type thing. that added bonus from a night of chain smoking (usually along with drinking. ha!) type deal.
I'm doing ok now with my 24mg samples, but I went ahead and ordered a bunch more juice to try out and dropped it down to 18mg.

I'm actually finding despite smoking pretty hardcore cigs that i'm not only a supertaster but i'm getting pretty heavy throat hits off 24mg....

hoping 18 is my sweet spot!

But i'm not going to stress, I didn't start vaping to quit....I didn't WANT to quit smoking, I just wanted to quit all the bad junk :)
and now I have :)

I have never been a fan of TH or Hot smoke while still a smoker. I used to smoke those 120 cigs and only smoke about 2/3 of them to avoid the TH and heat at the last 1/3. LOL

I am at 6-8 MG now and all new juices (bought or DIY) are 6 mg. I plan to be nic free by fall. I will probably keep vaping after that because I just enjoy it but I want to be off the nic before the FDA nails us if possible.

I vape 2-3 ML a day which I don't think is all that horrible.

I must say a day not spent chain vaping sounds ... scary   :D

2 yrs ago started at 18mg
~9 months into it, started over-niccing at night so dropped to 12mg
about 6-8 months later was over-niccing again so dropped to 6mg

That's what I'm vaping at today. I'd say just vape at what your body lets you know you need.
