If the nic is slightly pink it is just slightly oxidized. The pink color happens in some liquids depending on the chemicals used in processing. I wouldn't think it's taste or potency has changed by more than a few percentage points. You may notice some flavor change if you use higher nic in your liquids, say 12+ percent, but unless you use little to no flavoring, it shouldn't be noticeable.

Flavor and potency changes will be greater the darker the color gets, but it's still vapable until the flavor is bothersome.

Thank you all for your replies. I panicked (a bit) about 18 months ago and bought 3 liters of 100mg/ml nic. I split this up into 240ml Boston rounds. I wrapped each bottle in newspaper and put them in the deep freeze. I pull out one bottle at a time. This bottle had maybe 60ml of nic left in it that was affected.

When I first started with the cig-a-likes in '09 I was vaping 36mg/ml! Of course the devices have gotten much more efficient and trying to vape this strength using a sub-ohm tank would be nasty I bet. We are down to 6mg/ml now.

I have a feeling it might be harsh or peppery but I am only hypothesizing because I never had this happen with any of my nicotine.

It's just a bit, maybe 60ml. Not to worried about it. I did mix a 15ml test with a new flavor. that's when I noticed the change. I also can't detect a difference in the smell of this pink nic. Thank you.

My two liters of MFS nic have taken on a very slight yellow tint in the year since I bought it. It's at room temp in a low light area. When I mix up a bottle of unflavored it's still completely clear. If I look down into the liter bottle it's slightly tinted. I can see a very slight yellow color in a dropper when I draw it out of the bottle.

Since I've gone from 24mg strength to 3mg strength in my juices it's not an issue. I don't care for high throat hit and I'm not seeing a change at my low mix strength. If I had to rate throat hit compared to my old smoking habit I'd liken it to a Light or Ultra Light cigarette.

The best way to judge throat hit is with an unflavored mix. Some flavorings enhance the throat hit factor.

I've procrastinated in dividing my nic into freezer bottles. I have all the glass bottles and the implements to transfer it. I'll do it "real soon now".

I have all the containers and implements to get mine broken down into 8oz bottles. This summer I've been either out of town or working around the house most of the time. I need to devote a couple of hours to getting it ready to freeze. I'm a natural born procrastinator, but when the urge hits me I can go for days and get things done. Then, I sit for a while!

This week I spent pressure washing the siding on our house. I've been cutting low limbs on our 2+ acre wooded lot, cutting grass, repairing lawn furniture, and other assorted hand man jobs. During June and July we had our elementary school nephews almost every day during Summer vacation.

(Now,I feel better about not getting my nic bottled up. I've been too busy. Yeah, that's the ticket.)

I just made this months 1L unflavored mix using some older nic this time which had stored for 6 month in plastic in dark cool area and with lots of airy headspace in bottle(250ml bottle only under 1/4'th full and with 20% water added from manufacturer). The nic is very good quality(nicobrand UK made nic) and had taken a slightly yellow color. Granted I only vape 3mg, but unflavored and I have a pretty picky palete. Result - I cannot taste a difference whatsoever ;)

If nic is very oxidized, or not really god nic from the start or using higher nic levels, then it of course can be an issue, but seriously, the notion that nic that are turning slightly in color is of bad quality or not good tasting is imho been blown way out of proportion :)

Just my 2 cents of course.

My pale orange MFS nic has mild to non-existent throat hit, mixed at 3mg/ml unflavored. If I were still doing 24mg/ml it would probably be way strong, but it's fine at my low percentages.

My nic was actually 10 months old and not 6, after looking up the date of my order-mail, though it wasen't very oxidized to be fair...

I still vape it right now and it's still fine... However, sometimes when I just refill my tank, and the chamber gets a little flooded(OBS engine, slightly too fluffed wick-tails only dipping into top of wick-holes), then I can actually taste it alittle bit(the oxidation), but only for a few puffs and not bad(and unflavored)... That is also always the time I e.g. used to be able to taste the off-taste of nicselect at just 3mg, though not bad at all either and very slight, but not present in my new batch. This was the same back when I used drippers solely and overdripped which I often did...
