nicotene testing

After reading post here about nicotene testing for insurance, looked up and read they could detect it any where from 48 hours to 1 month, anyone know of a more precise length of time it can be detected in a blood test? Wondering if an insurance company would test for nicotene when you go to your doctor and ask for a "what is wrong with me? I'm sick" blood test, it did not list nicotene on the results.I had smoked about 48 hours before the test but have thru out life always ommited the smoking fact for insurance charging purposes.Now vaping only I don't even feel guilty not disclosing any nicotene use, as insurance companies think of nicotene as agent orange or that I work in an asbestos plant.

A regular doctor is not going to test for nicotine at your yearly checkup. That's only done for insurance checkups. It's a specialized test and sent to one of the big reference labs. Most hospital labs that local hospitals use don't even run that test.

And although it could be tested from blood, it's usually done with a urine test. I'm guessing the blood test would be more expensive, and everyone knows insurance companies like to go the cheap way.

Thanks for the insight Bhedge and Voltaire,knew I was a little paranoid and have never had a urine test so in the clean on that front.
