Hello, all-

I have an internship that I go to for 6-8 hours. I will have the Reo in my pocket, but my spare e-juice (in my eGo twist) will be in the car. I live in Ohio so it gets pretty cold. Can I vape my NT juice cold? Will the cold drain my eGo twist battery (or any battery for that matter)?

Sorry for the silly question, I'm just not sure of the answer.

Thanks,
Dani

Hey Dani, the cold won't affect your juice, it's heat that you really have to worry about. As for the battery, the cold won't drain it, they actually hold their charge longer in cold weather as it slows down the speed of the chemical reaction that produces the current, but it reduces the current so it will take a little bit more time to heat up the coils. If you have an ability to warm it up a bit, like using your hands something, then you'll be fine.

TL;DR The cold won't break anything, it just takes a bit longer to warm up the coils to vape.

Batteries definitely don't like the cold. Shouldn't bother the juice, though.

I would definitely try to avoid leaving the battery in the car. Can't you take it with you?
It's too long to fit into my pockets and I don't bring in bags because I work with teenage boys with criminal histories and drug and alcohol issues. Sometimes they have "sticky fingers."

Great, thank you. I'll put it in my bra to heat up.

And for those that don't like clicking...
BU-702: How to Store Batteries

Learn about storage temperatures and state-of-charge conditions.

The recommended storage temperature for most batteries is 15°C (59°F); the extreme allowable temperature is –40°C to 50°C (–40°C to 122°F) for most chemistries. While lead acid must always be kept at full-charge during storage, nickel- and lithium-based chemistries should be stored at around a 40 percent state-of-charge (SoC). This minimizes age-related capacity loss while keeping the battery operational and allowing for some self-discharge.

Do not recharge lithium-ion if a cell has stayed at or below 1.5V for more than a week. Copper shunts may have formed inside the cells that can lead to a partial or total electrical short. If recharged, the cells might become unstable, causing excessive heat or showing other anomalies. Li-ion packs that have been under stress are more sensitive to mechanical abuse, such as vibration, dropping and exposure to heat. [BU-409, Charging Lithium-ion]

I work outside all day and my biggest issue is my coils gunking up very quickly. I guess the cold thickens the juice and when firing the atty, parts of the juice burn while other parts are still in solid form. I keep my "unit" in my front breast pocket underneath a sweater and jacket. Not sure why but it's been happening almost everyday to me. Burnt coil by 1:00 or so with only 2-3mls vaped.

One option you could always consider is this:

It even says style on it!

Oh, the teenage boys I work with would LOVE that one!!! LOL. I am sure I would lose a lot of respect, haha.
