PVA is a good trustworthy organization run and staffed by paralyzed veterans. The big problem is that the military has many ways to keep from deeming someone service connected. Yes the service connected disabled vets are very well taken care of, but those not lucky enough to be deemed service connected get the shaft big time. I'm sure a lot has changed in recent years since the ability to sue the military became an option, at the time my hubby was injured that was not an option.

That's what I can't figure out about some of those. What in the world do they do with the money because "wounded warriors" are pretty well taken care if. Heck, I wasn't hardly wounded and I get a check every month. Never even had heard of those organizations back when I was in until it became a fad and everyone was jumping on board.

I'm in the process of getting rid of my clones - after going through the stress of being cloned myself, I gotta be done with em... nothing personal against the folks who buy/sell/trade them... but all my clones will be gone, soon.

Cloned? None taste anything like Nicoticket if that's what you're still eluding too.

Its still messed up I'm sure. The one thing I assume would be a dead giveaway that I'd assume I'd get disability for, I don't. Instead I get a little here and there for a couple others.

On the other side of it, I personally know and have met veterans who have never seen combat and had pretty low key mos's (the one at the top of my mind was air force so whatever its called there) that are 100% disabled for mental problems? Baffles me. I saw a year of combat and have 10% adjustment disorder lol..

I can't remember when I last cleaned mine out.

I think I'm just really leery of those things. Even local ones. We have one that was a huge "fad" in town for a couple years. I'm not sure what it ever accomplished other than put the girl who started it in the limelight for a while.

But man, you sure were part of the cool club if you had the T-shirt and bumper sticker and participated in the run ;)

Oh and especially if you were a business owner that openly supported it (that was when I was one).

My husband never saw combat, BUT he completely deserved everything he got. He was 101st airborne and part of the first true paramedic unit, he was scheduled to go to Nam the next day but first they had to do a parade jump for the big brass. Only problem was that the wind was blowing way to hard to jump safely, but they were ordered to jump anyway because you can't disappoint the big brass from DC, so they jumped. over 100 soldiers were either injured or killed that day when the wind caused their chutes to streamer and wrap around them making reserve chutes useless.

Those who were not part of the parade jump were shipped out the next day as planned to jump into the middle of battles to tend the wounded, none of them returned home alive. He always felt guilty for being alive even though he spent the rest of his live in a wheelchair, until cancer took him one week before his 49th birthday. He was 19 at the time of his injury and spent that entire year in the hospital.

He never saw battle but I think he more than earned his service connected status.

The only thing she better be cracking open is a bottle of Virus!!!!!! Don't offer that girl beer! She's been sober for like 20 years! lol

Lo, I am about to crack open a bottle, a bottle of Radioactive! Not to worry, it will be 30 years on June 'teenth this year and I don't think I will ruin that anniversary! I do love me some iced tea and Diet Mtn Dew so I will gladly tip a few with anyone who wants! Alcohol just doesn't interest me much anymore, but thanks for having my back, sweetie!

I do like the Bourbon tobacco I got from Vapor Leaf. Never liked the taste of bourbon but I really like this vape. Reminds me of Hawk's grog but in a 12mg. It is perfect for stinkie cravings or just stressful days in general. Since I loved Scotch, I wonder if there is a scotch tobacco out there?

That's different than what I'm talking about. These guys went through basic training, advanced training, did their little 3 year stint of "refrigeration repair" (not exactly but similar low key), got out, 10-15 years down the road started having all sorts of affairs with their wife, wife leaves, they go crazy on her and get arrested, get advised by their attorney to check into the VA mental house whatever it is claim service connected mental disability.. boom scapegoat and 100% service connected paycheck. That's basically how this guys' story goes but I've met a few others around this area with similar.

I've known this guy for 10 years so I have a pretty good idea of what went down and how and it drives me crazy.

Me too. Ever since I quit drinking soda 5 yrs ago I found an appreciation for unsweetened iced tea and green tea.

My favorite tea company is Adagio tea which has THE BEST jasmine green teas bought directly from the growers in China. And the price isn't bad either. I can get 4 steeps from one pot, it's what I drink all day!

I think you're going to like Radioactive.
You just reminded me that I got 25 years on the 9th. The only alcohol that piques my interest is the wine that my golf gang drinks. They sip some "good" stuff and the "nose" on them is outstanding. I don't want to drink it, just smell it. LOL

I'm soooo glad this came up. My wife has been looking for a good tea that won't break the bank like that stuff we sampled at a tea store in a mall a while back. I'm going to look into this stuff for sure!
