Delite, that was my thought exactly. The video shows the nicotine product next to some breath mints, instead of behind the counter!
Obviously they wont be sold next to the candy. I do wish they would stop using the "you're marketing to children" tactic.
I believe ORBS are the worst idea ever. Easy to OD on, easy for "small" children to mistake for candy. While they are not marketed to kids, I think teenagers would be all over them
Isn't the biggest danger of nicotine addiction connected to the burning tobacco associated with cigarettes?? There are tons of studies available showing that nicotine is relatively safe if taken in NRT products like gums, patches, etc. These "candies" don't seem any more harmful than nicotine gum. It seems like another case of anti tobacco zealots who can't separate nicotine from cigarettes. They are so locked into thier anti smoking rhetoric and fear tactics, that when a safer alternative comes along, they have to dis that, too.
I doubt any store would place these next to the tic tacs like we see in this video, that's clearly to add shock value to the story.

I think the concept of the product shows us how big tobacco will make their own e-juice though. The Orbs are made from finely ground flavored tobacco. If that finely ground tobacco were mixed with flavored glycerin, it would vape quite nicely in an herbal vaporizer, or perhaps a cartomizer. Having tobacco leaves in the mixture would keep them from being drugs to the FDA.
In any event, for some odd reason I can't imagine seeing such products on a low shelf between the freaking Hershey bars.

During the debate over the FDA bill, one Senator showed a similar video and noted the video producer had moved the Orbs from behind the counter to the candy section to deliberately mislead viewers into believing it would be available in the candy section. This looks like the same type of set-up video.
I also believe the Orb was introduced after the Feb 07 deadline for new products, which means the new FDA bill might well ban them (an objective of Phillip Morris - to remove competitor's products from the shelves).

This is an RJR ripoff of a process and product created by Star Scientific and marketed beginning in 2002 as Ariva, then in 2004 as Stonewall. I am a steady and faithful devotee of Stonewall. It is the main weapon in my arsenal to keep off cigarettes. These are not candy and that's just fear propaganda.
These differ from e-cigs in that dissolvables are pure tobacco, with sweetener added. E-liquid is extracted nicotine from tobacco mixed with carriers and flavorings. One is a tobacco product; one is a drug. The FDA has made that distinction.
And, yes, these might be in danger after passage of the Waxman/Kennedy bill giving the FDA control over tobacco. Thankfully, the Stonewalls I rely on came to market well before the 2007 cutoff date for grandfathered products.

The FDA is nothing more than e-cig Nazis. Not to mention that the FDA and other similar government agency's are unconstitutional. If they dont approve e-cigs i wont hesitate to make my own nic juice. If stoners can extract THC oil from marijuana then how hard can it be to buy a can of roll your own tobacco and extract the nicotine?
They probably taste like crap if they have nicotine in them. Like sucking on a patch.

You are WRONG on the taste of these. They are far better tasting than any harm reduction alternative. Far better. I use Stonewall first thing in the morning, after every meal, and throughout the day.
