I thought the chemnovatic was tobacco, but it's not, it's the same as it smells like, which is, I wanna say, shoe-polish??? Doesn't any of you either chemnovatic or VT people get that in some of your batches vaped unflavoured. It's "clean" otherwise and not a dirty ashtray peppery nic by any means. and flavoring in low amounts would likely overcome this. I personally don't like this taste myself.

Edit: It's imho important when looking at different nics to rotate them, because it's when you change nic and in the beginning that you notice the change in palete. For instance, I vaped this chemnovatic nic now all day and now I can't really taste what I wrote above. This is also why many sticking to one brand stating "my nic is fully tasteless". Well, that, and because of a combination of either, low nic, non-unflavored and non-optimal-palete... I remember reading such also by others here previously...

Edit2: It's there again, lol Just much more unpronounced than before... I was just woken up from a long nap when writing the above edit and only had a couple puffs making me wanna make the edit. Not that it's wrong by any means, but just a little overexagerated maybe...

I have tried the nic salts, I liked them but after doing some research, there's a lot of unknown chemicals in there, including some antidepressants and whatnot.

Add to that the way that I understand it, how these things are being used in vaping isn't something you'd ever get from cigarettes, Idk if I'll use it again, last thing I need is to become dependent on more chemicals.

I did try some of the really spendy artificial stuff, (it wasn't mine, a freind who I mix a few batches a month got some) but I found it to be weaker than what I'm used to, i didn't notice any kind of weird taste though.

I guess you're referring to nicotines studied antidepressant effects, but a little strange wording though, since not an impurity or salt-nic-related either. If I have missed something then I apologize in advance though

Edit: I haven't researched it myself and don't know anything about salt-nic, so I possibly could be wrong and really shouldn't have posted anything then, sorry.

Same here, I'm a believer in scientific research into vaping as long as it's valid testing with no agenda bias

Random thought, - many state a peppery nic is low quality nic. The CXTC also states this pepper taste is impurities from extraction-solvent(hexane/kerosene etc).

I have also gotten a special black pepper taste from a chinese nic which I believe is from above reason. However, nic is an irritant and even if fully pure will be a little "tingly" on tongue. Isn't it possible that nic is supposed to be peppery tasting all by itself? I say this because at 6mg and up, all my 3 quality nics have a spicy kinda taste to them right at the tip of the tongue tip. I kinda like that "bite" personally. I also read one write this:

Everyone says that the peppery feeling from nicotine is from bad nicotine but that's simply untrue. The above was just from a reddit posting and nothing else, but it seems to make sence to me...

Btw, to me, then nicselect tastes slightly spicy with an added element clearly detectable both in smell and taste; I don't know how to describe but very slight glue/deoderant/paint-thinner. Chemnovatic, the same spicyness with a slight shoe-polish note and nicobrand(totally-wicked/lubrisolve etc) is just that spicyness and nothing else to detect really. I previously had a batch with slight other element, like maybe chlorine or something(though not a bad taste at all), but not now.

It annoys me to not be able to know if this spicyness also is in e.g. NN and CXTC...

What does that even mean? Antidepressants are "unknown chemicals"? If they're unknown how would you know what they are?

Perhaps the poster, who seems to have drawn more ire that I would think worthwhile, was making casual reference to other than nicotine alkaloids.
