I looked at the numbers and it tells you why you're not getting your morning nicotine buzz.

If you smoked a pack a day of regular strength cigarettes you where getting about 1 mg of absorbed nicotine per/cigarette. About 20 mg a day.

E-cigs have an absorption rate of about 10%. You would have to use about 8mm of 24 mg juice to get the same amount of nicotine that you used to have with cigarettes. That's a lot of juice. That's why you can vape all day.

I'm VERY curious about those numbers...

I have been told that 1mg of juice will equal the nic level it is. My understanding was that vaping 1mg of 18mg juice would be like getting 18mg of nicotine.

I'm down to 11mg now and sometimes a mix of 18mg and 11mg at a 1:2 ratio just because JC TC mixxed with CashCAP tastes like magic.

Interested to read on this topic.

Hopefully someone with the scientific expertise can jump in on this as I'm certainly not an expert. I do know that you do not get anything close to full nicotine absorption. That goes for all types of nicotine delivery systems.

Absolutely, and that includes cigarettes. I don't beleive for a minute that I got 100% from tobacco... but I did get something I liked that I'm not getting now..... So there's a few possibilities.

1. Our nicotine absorbion levels are so low that we need to alter the mix to get high, either through more nicotine or something to help us absorb the nicotine.
2. We need to add something else to make us high, like some good old carbon monoxide or arsenic..... ;)
3. Something very important that I'm overlooking through ignorance.

AND, just maybe, your juice doesn't contain the amount of nicotine that it states it contains... 8-o

i believe the amonia 'freebasing' on the analogs give that nicotine high, plus what you said.

thanks god i do not feel anymore it, i'm vaping for so long that analogs can't give me anything more than bad taste and smell :)

*DISCLAIMER: DON'T ADD AMMONIA OR ANYTHING ELSE TO YOUR LIQUID TO TRY TO CREATE FREEBASE NICOTINE. THIS WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO SAY THE LEAST.*

It's the ammonia. In cigarettes, this combines with the nicotine to form freebase nicotine, so when it's inhaled into the lungs, it's instantly whisked to the brain and sets off the receptors like crazy. With e-cigs, most of the nicotine is absorbed in the mucus membranes in the mouth and nose, with less being absorbed by the lungs. Since it's not in it's freebase form, it will never give you that "rush" like the first drag off a cigarette in the morning [much like the difference between crack (freebase) ....... and it's normal (powder) alkaloid form]. You'll have to live without it, or start adding ammonia to your juice. Up to you.:p You can be satisfied by the nicotine in e-cigs though, you just won't get that instant absorption. If you stick to it, you'll get over that urge soon.

Well... I still have a lot of left over rolling tobbacco and filters. So when I wake up in the morning and am craving that nicotine high, I roll a thing one up with a filter, somtimes a double filter, and smoke till I get it. In the morning is the best time to get that nicotine high, because you haven't even vaped for X many hours...unless you're an insomniac like I am half the time. :(
Then, I vape the rest of the day.
I have a tin of tobacco that as lasted me over a year, when it gets dry I just throw in a damp paper towel.
I'm not really a chronic smoker at all though, vaping is definitely the way to go :)

I was kidding. Don't try to do that. I edited my other post too.

Oh, I won't.... I don't think it would work in this format anyway.

Still, I WOULD like to get my instant nico-hit. I have no desire to quit nicotine, I just want it in a safer format.

As to ammonia, I don't know where I could get medical grade ammonia, and I'm certainly not going to vape some pine-sol knockoff from the supermarket cleaning section!

Well... Actually if I mix ammonia and bleach, that might make a good vape....

But back to the subject. How do we get a nico-high again?

I just can't stand the taste of cigarettes anymore, or I'd probably do the same. As it stood, even before I started vaping, I didn't like the taste of cigarettes anymore except when I was drinking.
This is quite true. I could smoke a whole pack while being intoxicated. Its kinda sickening. Tasty Puff wasn't such a bad investment for me though. I just but a handful of tobacco in a cleaned out skoal can, added some Tasty Puff, shook it up a little bit and let it sit. Or, I even added lemon and orange peels to it. Adds a nice flavor and aroma, gets rid of that crappy cigarette smell. Don't try it though, stay off the analogs.
