nicotine how much why too much? and what can i do?????
I am a newbie here so please help afella out. For the past 7 days used an e cig maybe 2-3 times a dayand cut my annolog down to 70% .

lst night was my first official vapewith new kit. Btw I am a pack-o day smoker the juice im using 18mg .Last night I vapped for about 2-3 hours perhaps on and off 2-5 hits each hour of course was too much .
Why is that too much if I can normally smoke 4-5 smokes in the same time?
Help me out here guys How many hits vaping with 18 mg juice would = ONE SMOKE?

However this morning I took aprox 4-5hits 2 hours ago and still feeling it. Normally by this time a dayI can have 3-4 smokes and DO NOT feel as wired.?

Why is this so intense?

I know my body well and all I can sayis that taking a few hits vaping effects me way more than chainsmoking 4-5 smokes in ONE hour .
So it has to be the way my body is absorbing it right?

Or is it the type/ strength of nicotine?

The delivery mechanism?

Or is is something differentaltogether. ? What am I missing or why so intense???????
I know my body and can tell its WAY TOO MUCH

Please tell me WHY is this so potent and what can I do at this point if I want to vape as would normally smoke without the side effects .

TIA
Sincerly

lol another w/ the pharmacy vg...awesome. I remember starting out I was using a 16mg crappy cig-a-like and was only really taking 2 or 3 hits and was good for an hour or two - so 2-3 hits for me was equaling one analog. It was 80/20 pg/vg which might've had something to do w/ it but I think vaping is just stronger for some of us - it does get absorbed differently than smoke after all. Try a lower mg - I smoked light cigs and now use 12mg nic level in all my juice - I can vape all day and not have any side effects (other than dehydration if I don't drink a ton of water)

Nic delivery depends on the delivery method, voltage, and resistance of the atomizer. Most of us comment on how we can't get away from our ecigs. We use them as pacifiers.

The reviews of testing I've read say that a typical ecig delivers 10% to 30% of the nicotine that we got from a tobacco cigarette. These tests are probably based on the small cigarette sized ecigs and don't take into account the mods with variable voltage and the many other methods of atomization available.

If it works for you to satisfy the nic urge, I say good for you. The whole point in vaping is to get away from tobacco. I found that vaping while smoking one hit from each in turn convinced me that the ecig tasted better. Doing that resulted in my decision to drop the tobacco and become just a vaper. Prior to that I had held onto my after meals and with coffee cigarettes. I found out that I didn't need those.

I've vaped 24mg nic juice now for almost three years. It seems about right for me and I almost never walk away from my ecig. It's in my pocket or within two steps away all day long. You may be one who can drop down to low nic levels of 6mg or so. If you do that and find you have cravings, step it back up a bit. It might be worth buying a bottle of low nic to see.

You really won't know until you put down the tobacco and vape instead. If you are still smoking 70% of what you used to, the ecig is probably putting you over the top. You have added vaping to your previous nic intake.

It does sound like your getting to much nic with vaping and smoking. Each person is going to be different, depending on what your smoking habits were before e-cigs.

"This morning I took approx 4-5hits 2-3 hours ago now and still feeling it. Normally by this time of dayI can have 3-4 smokes and DO NOT feel as wired.?
And to top it off feel satified......."

Did you also smoke an analog cig to?

How much you absorb, what gear you have and all that is going to make the experence different for you than the next person.

I was a smoker for 40 years full flavor analogs, about 25 cigs a day. The day I started e-cigs I stopped analogs. The first few days were harder till I got used to how much it took to keep my cravings down, I started with the 18 mg and am now using 24 mg. I vape when I first get up as im doing my routine so Ive never counted how many vapes I do really. Then as im doing things during the day I vape as needed.

It has been said that its anywhere from 30-40% of nic is absorbed, the delivery system for an analog cig is different there are chemicals that help you absorb the nic differently with the analog. And its also going to depend on how your gear is and how you are vaping.

The e-cig is for when you drop your analog to get you past that crave and withdraw. Then you can wean your self down to 0 mg nic.
Im not sure what you mean by feeling "whacked out". Withdraw is not created equal, one person maybe able to slide right off analogs with little to no withdraw while an other goes threw full flegded withdraws. You are going to have experiment with it. There is no set times you have to vape that will be different for everyone.

Good luck.

I want to add I vape until I feel that calm feeling when ive gotten enought nic. its a feeling of well being and your brain is not all over the place. The only time I feel whacked out is when I have no nic. and Id say that is the most uncomfortable feeling in the world.

When I get that feeling of need or when I get a crave to pick up an analog, I pick up my e-cig and take a few vapes. There is really no set times or how many vapes I take, the only time I really have set times would be after I eat, when I first get up and just before bed. Those 3 times is when I will vape longer but I dont count how many vapes I take. But I can tell you its not the 5-7 min that it would be from smoking an analog. I find the body adapts over time. It becomes the new reality. The craving to pick up an analog gets less and less. And again its going to be different for eveyone how much it takes to tame the beast.

The e-cig is a way to get away from all those nasty chems they are putting into your body. From there you can decide what your going to do. Some liked the smoking experence and want to continue, sticking with the e-cig. Others that ive seen dont want to do anything and wean off the e-cig over time and become nic free.

Once you are off analogs it maybe totally different how you feel with your e-cig. Once the chems are out of your body from analogs you may absorb the nic different.

I had this issue, too. First I went to VG only to rule out sensativity to PG. I had to cut the nic down just a bit to be able to vape all day without affect. The few hours before bed, I have it cut to 50%. Once I got that situated, I reintroduced the PG and blends and have not had any more issues.

Unfortunately, you have to play around with it to see what works for you. I think some of us are just more sensative to this mic delivery system. For me, keeping a steady nic level throughout the day, keeps away the cravings.

Try a 12mg, and try a 6mg. I started with 18mg and noticed I was wired as well. I still notice it with the 12mg, but not nearly as much now that I've been using it for a month.

As for how much you vape in comparison to smoking analogs... It is way too relative to the user. Certain websites will tell you that 1ml of juice is the equivalant of a pack of cigarettes, but what if it is 6mg nic or 24mg nic?! I vape about 1-2mls of 12mg nic everyday. There are people that vape 5mls a day! I only smoked half a pack a day before I was vaping. Not to mention, certain people take way longer drags on their e-cigs than others which can obviously be a factor. None of this really matters to me, because I feel much healthier knowing exactly what I'm putting into my body.

So, try to quit comparing analogs to electronics, and focus on acquiring the best vaping experience by trying different nic levels out.

Absolutely, too much nic for you! I had same problem..

18 jacked me up so bad I was sick on second day of vaping. 18 mg got me like high all day for 2 weeks. I don't by this 30% stuff although it does vary with how you smoke it. For me one or 2 hit was like one cig.. After 2 months of vaping exclusively... 18 mg will buzz me out quick. Get/ order some 12 or less like 8 mg keep the 18 for when you want a nic buzz. You can mix it with lower mg Eliq to weaken it. 18 is too high for you, the wired feeling and feeling lethargic is nic overdose

It happened to me but only after 2 months. As a 40 year 2-3 pad smoker I started with 24mg. That got me off of cigs right away. After 2 months I was getting high...or anxiety, sleeplessness, light headed, general headless chicken stuff. I cut back to 18mg, then 12mg, then 6mg. I have settled at about 8-9mg, but even that is too high at times. Listen to your body and get some lower mg juices. You can always mix them to achieve the best level for you. I'm not sure there is a correct answer to how many puffs = how many cigs, because everyone is different.

FYI something some people may not know.. Nicotine when vaped it just like alcohol with volume displacement. The larger person you are the more nic you will use for the same effect. 10mg of straight nic will kill a child or pet at around 50lbs. Someone weighing 200lbs would require a 40mg dose for the same fatal dose. I can only imagine that just vaping has a similar effects with nicotine per weight. If you are a person small in stature or weight 18mg nic may just be too strong.

I was a 1.5 pack a day smoker. Just starting out vaping, I had a similar experience. Starting off with a cheapo 510 18mg series didn't bother me at all, but when I switched to an EGO, I started feeling queezy at times. I had the same problem with the 21mg patches, 14mg worked better for me. Next time I pick up some ejuice, I'll try some 12mg.

That would be totally true if you absorbed 100% of the 1.8% but we know its a little as 30 to 40 %. Now with analogs you do absorb more because of the chemicals that cause it to. It would be true if you were taking it orally by mouth what you are saying, but I dont think anyone is doing that. I started with 1.8% in my first vaping when I quit and went threw withdraws somewhat. So I know I wasnt getting enought from it. I went up to 2.4% and its just right. Im of small stature.
