I can't even begin to imagine recommending anything without knowing why it all went bad for you last time.
So, what happened with you and the Mini Reo?
:)

Hey DC2,

Thanks for the reply. Where do I begin? Either I had a bad mini or I just wasn't skilled enough to use it. Pretty straight forward though, at least it was for me. I'm very much a mechanical guy who can fix PC's, cars, install decks and set up just about any audio system. The mini just kept getting clogged no matter what carto, atomizer or batt I used. And it leaked everywhere. I ended up selling about $350 worth of stuff for $180. That turned me off to mods. It's been a few years since then so I'm sure things have gotten better. I've been puffin this Blu all day and I've cut my Analogues back by about half the amount, maybe a little less. I think with the right ecig to start I could probably be down with analogs in just a few short days. Gotta wait till pay day though.

That's exactly what I thought going into my second try at vaping. I haven't picked up a cigarette since my third vape, and doubt I will again. I was more a situationa/emotionall smoker; phone, social, driving, stress, etc. At least those were the things that would sabotage my attempts at quitting. A friend started vaping and after hearing how much she was saving by giving up the analogs, I decided to give it a try again. I'm so enjoying vaping, this time. :)

Everyone is different, but that is what i started on too: just an automatic 510 battery & cartomizer. It was the size & shape of an analog, and i could hold it between my fingers pretty much the same way. I don't know if that made much of a difference...maybe the familiar look & feel of it helped trick my brain into accepting the switch a little easier. But what worked for one person might not work for another. There are a lot of great products out there to consider.

Can I ask how long you used the 510 until you upgraded? I'd hate to order one and only end up using it for a few weeks only to find out I would have been better off with a more advanced set up to start. And like also like you, it seems having the feel of an analog is helping to get away from them. But the blu ecig still isn't enough.

I would Definitely say that I'm an emotional smoker stress, bills, driving home stuff with family life ;). I reach for an analog every single time I feel overwhelmed. Can I ask what your first attempt was and what happened? I had the Reo mini and $350 bucks in my first purchase. Least to say after about 100 utube/ecig video reviews I was positive that was the right choice, but I was wrong. Either I'm a total idiot and used it wrong or it was broken. I'm using a blu ecig at the moment and the taste, throat hit, smell and feel are a ton better then the Njoy, which I loved at first for it's real Aesthetic look and feel. But the nic that they use in those just tastes awful after about 10 hits.

This is what happened to me. I started with an nJoy two years ago and immediately regret that as soon as I hopped online to research more. I bought a Magma-T kit that night. I still smoked analogues for a few months until I realized that I no longer wanted them anymore. That Fall, the V1 LavaTube came out and I've been rocking it with various delivery systems since.

I still do enjoy a good cigar every now and then, and if someone throws me an analogue at a party I won't turn it down, but I haven't once felt the need for them since I quit buying.

So I've had my vape for a few weeks now, this is round 2 of this endeavor after experimenting with them previously a couple years ago. My how things have changed and improved! The last few weeks has been a constant stream of acquisitions with more on the way actually. Currently using my Telescopic Sigelei Zmax V3 with a cartotank and some fabulous Butterscotch liquid from MtBakerVapor. Several other tanks I'm switching in an out...but I digress.

As soon as I got my lavatube v2 from Volcano (now 1 of 3 mods)...my smoking dwindled from about a pack a day to less than 5. I found myself having to remind myself to smoke analogs. After about a week it was down to 2 or 3. Over the last 3 to 4 days I've had a few drags off of one analog and it is already starting to taste horrid, and it was more out of some ill-perceived need than desire. I told myself this whole 2nd attempt at vaping was to help myself cut back...I'm not quitting smoking.

I'm not quitting smoking...but yet I find myself stopping. Its almost an unconscious decision. Quitting has this stigma of deprivation that makes you want to rebel against it. Whatever this is that I am doing, I find myself with no desire for stinkies, and its quite the awesome feeling. If I do find myself wanting one though, I'll have one...just to remind myself how awful they are.

Who knows, maybe I'll never "quit". But at least at this pace, I'm on a path to permanently stopping. :vapor:
I went through a similar experience. I tried a green smoke kit a several years ago. I managed to go a couple of months then somehow managed to switch back. My second effort was 17 months ago. I noticed a huge difference in quality even in the same brand products. I really never looked back. Don't get me wrong I still crave a cig every once in a long while (mostly I catch a sniff of someones outside), but this time there is no return to smoking. I beat them!! CONGRATULATIONS on your recent successes!!

Somewhere out there
I say yes go for a Triton or ego twist, battery life is better and power is there. Triton will use the G6 cartos which are 808 threads. I use one everyday. The Triton clearos are also good, I just happen to like cartos more than clearos. The ego twist is 510 threads so you need 510 cartos with those. bnrk

I was a long time member here a few years ago when vaping started to explode. I lost all my info and am starting over. Long story short. I'm so frustrated. I had a Reo Mini with tons of cartos, batteries, veg liq, flavors ect and the whole thing just went bad for me. I read and read and read for months trying to learn but I have a really poor memory (due to childhood truma.) I'm dedicated to learning and reading, not looking for some quick fix or expecting much. I do however know that I'm DESPERATE to quit analogs. they hurt my chest, stink, cost to much and I'm just sick of em.
I've tried the disposables Njoy for several months now with a bit, and I do mean a bit more success than I had with the Reo mini. But they just aren't enough to get me to cut back. I'm currently smoking GPC Lights a pack a day.
I've been reading about the halo ecigs here on EFC and the polls taken which seems to report by majority that people had success getting stated there with the G6. But I wonder if I have enough experience now to go to another mod like the Triton starter kit?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly Appreciated.

I never intended to quit when I grabbed my first disposable blu. It was just a way to smoke in the car in the rain in my eyes. But here I am, about five weeks later, with two eGo Twists, a bunch of various clearomizers and juices, and a Vamo on the way, and I haven't touched a cigarette in almost three weeks. I never expected this, but it's pretty freaking cool! :)

I used it for quite a while, but honestly, that was only because i didn't know about all the higher quality stuff. If the blu isn't doing it for you, then you should definitely find something that does. I guarantee its out there. The main thing is to not get discouraged & say ":censored: the whole vaping thing" over one unsatisfying product.

So many awesome stories in this thread, so much success...and even many cases of accidental success. Freaking awesome.

Underd0g, if you are what seems like the majority of people here, once you really start enjoying vaping, I can guarantee you you're going to want to upgrade, no matter what you buy, or try new things, etc. Get what your budget can afford and what appeals to you the most. None of the options you have thrown out should leave you disappointed.

Underd0g, thank you for the very kind words! Mom had a fall, right on her face! On concrete, no less. That included a brain bleed and about three weeks in the hospital. She is 86 and doesn't move around too well anymore. She was doing something we don't let her do without someone there to make sure she is safe: going outside to the trash bin. She can be a hard headed woman at times, guess that's where I get it! BUT, she is home  within the warm embrace of family and "her" dogs. All is well and we just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Can't really rent a loaner. But, it will work out. It always does. They say that God never gives us more than we can handle. Sometimes I wish He had less confidence in us!

I can't emphasize enough about the eGo set up with the Kanger evod, MT3S or the Pro Tank. I actually like the Victory Vision better than my Pro Tank. Great vapor! I use the Kanger battery as well so it matches my evod and MT3S in color. Not at all expensive, easy to replace the coil head and they are only about $1.25 on Fast Tech. I will continue to fiddle with other stuff, but I need a "go to" that will work when I NEED TO VAPE RIGHT NOW! These set ups work perfectly for me!

Yes, that's my story too except I have a k100 mod on the way and am thinking of getting the vamo. But the winders and evods really are enough, I just want to see what all the hype is over the mods and want the longer and cheaper battery life that you get from them.

glowplug, I was sorry to hear your troubles but am glad that your mom is doing so much better.

Congratulations to all but especially to those who quit without intention. Personally I had made a decision. It was a snap decision for the most part. One of my friends had been vaping for about 6 mos and had shown me his vamo and various setups. I got up from my desk, called him for a recommendation on a mod and went to the local Vape shop. I picked up an eVic, a bag full of tanks and liquids. Long story short I only had 5 cigs from that point and couldn't stand them within a few days. I had made a decision to get off the stinkies though and think it is awesome that so many of you have been able to 'drift' off of them.
