No vaping at London Overground stations??

well, the other day i was at an overground train station in south London.

and the intercom starting warning everyone not to smoke on the platform; as usual.
But at the tail end of the message it said; 'this includes electronic cigarettes'… ~

i looked at it like it had slapped me.
since when was this the case?
what is the U.K government up to now..?

i wasn't vapourising at the time.. nor was anyone else; it just appeared to be part of the new recorded message.

The big fight here is two fold. They start out with it can confuse people that your smoking and they don't want the confusion. Then when that gets debunked they go to the children cry. It does greatly vary based on location, I work for a partner company of starbucks and they have no smoking/vaping policies in place within a certain distance from the doors. However at my local starbucks they aren't strictly enforced the way it would be in places like cali or ny.
