So I'm trying to get my 5 newbie posts out of the way by introducing myself and looking for advice. I am a non-smoker, but began working as a tobacconist 2 months ago. Just being in the culture and environment gave me a new perspective and respect for tobacco and smoking. vaping seems like one of the healthier approaches and appeals to my gadgety nature. I was able to get a hold of a ploom model one and love it. I can't wait to experiment with shisha and VG in this thing.

That being said, I am not looking to e-cigs or vaping as a way to replace cigarettes. I enjoy the flavor and ritual of smoking. I'm sure the nicotine doesn't hurt, either.

As a non-smoker, what would give me the best vaping/e-cig experience?

If you're not a smoker, I wouldn't start, even from the vaping aspect.
However, I can understand your curiosity, especially after looking at all the cool mods and accessories here.
If you really have to go there, try a an eGo C with a vivi nova tank or Vision Clearomizer cart. That should get you into the ball park and a true vape experience.

Does not compute.

Oh, I don't know, there's a certain romance to smoking, and vaping too I guess, particularly in social situations. Plus, I enjoy the nicotine, who am I to tell someone else to not try it? Just keep it mild, 'cause if you don't, quitting will be a beyotch.

Joyetech eGo C - and you don't need any fancy carto or clearo, just use the Joyetech stock tanks, and your supplier will probably have soft silicone caps that don't leak. It's a fine system, and the starter kit is a good value.

Don't buy cheap e-liquid. Get the best quality you can.

If you want a more authentic 'cig-a-like' experience, the nJoy King disposable is pleasantly close to an actual cigarette.

(1)I am a non-smoker,

~snip~

That being said, I am not looking to e-cigs or vaping as a way to replace cigarettes. (2)I enjoy the flavor and ritual of smoking. (3)I'm sure the nicotine doesn't hurt, either.

OK, so maybe it's just the lingo that confuses me. First you said you do not smoke (1), then you say you do (2), then you say nicotine is cool (3).

Ploom model one's are not typical hardware for vaping, as far as I know.

Shisha is as far as I can tell is pretty much smoking.

So I'm confused, but that's OK, it happens.

So, as a non-smoker looking to try vaping I suggest you don't. I smoked for decades and vaping got me away from it, finally. If you absolutely must go through with it, don't use nicotine liquid. There is nothing to 'respect about tobacco and smoking' as you said in your post.

HTH.

I had to Google Ploom. How exactly do you plan on using vg in that thing? It isn't a vaping device.

to get the true vaping experience, first you must take up smoking and smoke for at least 5 years to make sure you are fully addicted to nicotine and smoking. that way, you can experience what we all have as you transition from smoking to vaping. you can have the jitters and anxiety as you try and switch the focus of your addiction from one delivery system to another. you will spend time hanging out for a smoke, even though you know your nicotine needs are being met by vaping. you will possibly have sleepless nights, irritability and maybe even really good stuff like mouth ulcers and headaches as you transition from smoking to vaping. only in this way can you truy get the real vaping experience. go for it.
