That being said, I am not looking to e-cigs or vaping as a way to replace cigarettes. I enjoy the flavor and ritual of smoking. I'm sure the nicotine doesn't hurt, either.
I only smoked tobacco.
So you are smoking cigarettes ?
kay67kay said:to get the true vaping experience, first you must take up smoking and smoke for at least 5 years to make sure you are fully addicted to nicotine and smoking. that way, you can experience what we all have as you transition from smoking to vaping. you can have the jitters and anxiety as you try and switch the focus of your addiction from one delivery system to another. you will spend time hanging out for a smoke, even though you know your nicotine needs are being met by vaping. you will possibly have sleepless nights, irritability and maybe even really good stuff like mouth ulcers and headaches as you transition from smoking to vaping. only in this way can you truy get the real vaping experience. go for it.

I had to Google Ploom. How exactly do you plan on using vg in that thing? It isn't a vaping device.

Not to mention once you've finally given up the smokes by using e-cigarettes, you realize that all of your batteries are spent. And you need a nic fix REAL BAD.
You can't wait the 3 hours it's going to take for the first battery to recharge, so you go out of the house at midnight in a whiteout blizzard to travel 6 blocks down the street to the all-night convenience mart. You don't care that the place is seedy with some pretty undesireable losers waiting in line to check out. All you can think about is getting that first rapturous drag off of the first cigarette you've had in four weeks. You're barely out the store's door before you are lighting up.
So sad. So desparate. So weak. And after all of that trouble it doesn't even taste good. In fact. It's awful. Such is the power the cigarette.
You forgot to add the part about being marginalized due to a health issue that somehow became a moral one; being part of a group that it is acceptable, even encouraged, to be condescending and disrespectful to; to be confronted everyday with reminders that your addiction is putting your health, and the health of everyone around you, at risk, yet not offered any useful alternatives; that you are bad person, a weak person, a person other people feel no qualms about walking up to when standing outside and saying your smoke is bothering them.
I can't believe I'm the first one to suggest this, but if you are a non-smoker who wants to vape.....go with the 0% nicotine juices. You will still get the flavors and enjoyment, but you will not be ingesting a highly addictive poison.
I sure wish someone would have ..... slapped the ..... out of me when picked up my first cig. Would have saved me a lot of money and I would never have had to find this forum to help get me off of them. And I mean no offence to anyone here. You guys are a bunch of great people.
Can I feed an ocelot? Archer: "I've never seen an Ocelot!" - YouTube I hear they aren't always fed that well. Please dont confuse me with someone who gives a flying fruit bat about your health and well-being.
I dont care if you vape. I dont care if you smoke cigarettes. I dont care if you chew ground glass to relax; my motivation is completely selfish. I dont want your curiosity and novelty seeking to be used as ammunition that might prevent me from having access to products that help me cope with my addiction.
ETA: I wish theyd put a notice in the New Members sticky along the lines of, Please refrain from announcing in the title or opening statement of your thread that you are a non-smoker, or have never smoked, it pointlessly agitates the members fighting a life-threatening addiction. And while youre at it, dont feed the animals.
Have you seen the movie thank you for smoking? To tie in this thread and your comment: the last line in this clip does a great job on summing everything up: Thank You for Smoking _ Thank You for Smoking: What Do You Do - Video DailymotionHmm it's kind of interesting. The majority of Vapers transferred a Cigarrette habit to vaping.
I enjoy vaping. I enjoy nicotine and so do most on this board.
Yet when someone says, I don't smoke cigarettes and I want to start vaping everyone becomes very agitated.
NO NO don't do it. Vape 0. Just because I enjoy it and it's not good for me, don't you do it and enjoy it and take the same risk.
With all respect it's kind of Hypocritical.
So I'll add my two cents. Nicotine is a poison. Vaping appears to be less harmful than cigarettes, but there is no long term safety data on vaping. As long as you are aware that it's not healthy and there are potential risks. It's your life, it's a free country.
Good Luck, Enjoy, Vape On!!
