I am thinking g about trying vapes to help me calm down when I begin to have anxiety attacks as apposed to eating high amounts of junk food. I know there isn't much research and that this could be harmful. I'd be vaping only 100% VG juice. I just wanted to get some people's opinions on if they think I should try vaping or not.

There aren't any ingredients in vape that will help with anxiety. I'm not sure if everybody is this way, but for me, when I vape dessert or sweet flavors, it just makes me crave the real thing - so I end up putting down the vape and eating. I've found that having tangerines around is great for avoiding junk food. They are portable, they are sweet, they're a good source of natural Thiamin (b vitamins for stress), you can chew the pulp, you can make them last by eating one section at a time, if you have three you can juggle them, and they freshen your breath and help clean your teeth. And when my teeth feel clean, I don't want to eat junk that will stick to them and make them all furry feeling :)

First of all, are you a smoker? Do you use nicotine in any other form--smokeless tobacco, snus. etc? Do you plan on using 0 nicotine ejuices?

Also, why 100% VG? Any particular reason?
I am not a smoker, never have been. I have tried a friend's vape and playing with the smoke and the flavors were enjoyable for me. He had 0 nicotine Max VG juice. I'd do VG just because I don't know if I'm allergic to PG and VG is sweeter if I were to do some non flowers juices. I would never get nicotine or any tobacco related flavors. Just flavours like watermelon and blueberry lol.

Can't believe I'm about to say this: as someone who has mild anxiety I'm inclined to say go for it. Nicotine and caffeine have been shown to have similar effects on the brain as Ritalin which, imo, is why so many people with disorders smoke. We've been self medicating. If I had to choose between self medicating with nicotine vs trusting pharmaceuticals I choose nicotine. However you did mention you are on meds which is an issue well out of my area. Hope you find something that helps

I'd say give it a try. Like another poster above said, I do find sometimes that vaping a flavor makes me crave eating the real thing, BUT, also vaping keeps me from shoving massive quantities of junk food in my mouth most of the time. There's really no reason not to try it - junk food is probably just as harmful as vaping. I'd suggest not inhaling too much or too deeply, but otherwise I say go for it. Good luck. :)

When I was young, which was pretty far back, I noticed my Dad had a tobacco pipe by his favorite chair. Years later, I asked my Mom about it and she said that the doctor prescribed it to help him relax. The idea of sitting, tinkering with the pipe bowl, I guess, was supposed to be relaxing.

After a busy day, which I purposely cut off between 6pm and 7pm, I enjoy tinkering with my vape gear. Are things clean, did I polish the mods, do I need to use a hair-dryer on any wet parts, just things to help me relax. When I am done, I can sit on the porch and drip. It is nice to watch the tumbleweeds go by. :tumble:

I figure that is good to be able to relax. As a former manager, I understand and promote employees taking short breaks. Just having hobbies is good. When recruiting/interviewing I talk about my hobbies hoping to elicit the person to join in with theirs. I can't directly ask by law, but I look for a person to have outlets. I have some outlets, I think it helps me.

But, if they don't seem to work, a professional is always there. Make use of whatever is needed to relax. It is healthy.

I would say no. Vaping 0% nicotine is not going to give you anything other than flavors. If you think nicotine may help you, try with nicotine gum first.
I agree with the other suggestions, such as doing Yoga. I know you said you have yoga stretches but just stretching is not the same thing as taking an hour long flow class. The combination of different postures will have a better impact on calming your anxiety than sitting on a flow and doing a pose or two.

One more question: Are you over 18? :D If so, go for it! If you need a pacifier to keep you calm and happy, by all means, give it a try. Stress and anxiety are not healthy either--they may be much more unhealthy for you than vaping. :)

Good luck!

Yeah I'm 18. I'll be 19 soon actually. I have zero interest in any thing drug related including nicotine and Vaping is mostly something I can do away from home when I start to feel anxious. I may also vape at night because right now I am eating tons of junk food. Whether it's an entire box of cheese it's or gold fish or just other chip and junk items, I know it's not good for me. Thank you everyone for your input. It has really helped me make a decision. As of right now I am going to pick up a starter kit just to give it a try.

I definitely will give a few of the juices suggested a try. I found that i love tea juices and light floral ones as well. I'm excited to try the rose menthol because I'm a menthol addict! My first juice was just pure menthol.

I will try the ones that come in sample size first. There was one i looked at but it only came in 15ml size and that scared me.

What other rose menthol juice you tried?

My local shop has a juice called napom. It's very floral with the coolness of menthol. The hit though is extremely harsh on the way in like it's too heavy but really nice on exhale. The first time i vaped it expected to exhale pedals.

The thing that nobody here is mentioning is that we know very little about the inhalation of food flavorings. No clue if any damage could/ would be done from even just the flavorings. It is not the nicotine that I am against for non smokers. It is the risk of inhaling the flavorings. There may be no risk at all. We just don't know.

As a former heavy smoker, the risk is very well worth taking for me. If I were never a smoker, I could say without a doubt that I would not take that risk. Of course, that is my personal opinion and you have to decide what is right for you.

Good luck!
