Hello! I am new to the forum and vaping. I know a lot of people are judgmental about it but I am a non smoker. I have vaped a few times. Tried it once out of curiosity and found it relaxing to grab a vape a friends vape if I was feeling stressed or anxious and just take a few inhales. I am not sure which one it was but the vape I have used was a really simple one that was 28 dollars. I'd be willing to spend around $50 for now to try it. I'm sure I want to get into vaping but not what kind. I really liked the bayou drops and Screaming Eagle liquids that I've tried. I'm not sure how good those are in terms of the liquids but I'd be willing to try some around that price range or a little higher.I like fruity and minty flavors. But Id be willing to try any non tobacco flavor. I'm not looking for anything flashy or big clouds. Mostly just for flavor. Any suggestions on a decent vape and e-liquids is appreciated.

I am not certain I want to recommend vaping to a non-smoker; the long term effects are not known. And I am completely certain I want to say if you are not nicotine addicted at present, then stay far away from nicotine carrying juices. Nicotine addiction is not a pretty thing, speaking from experience. Having said all that, if you still want to try, you should be able to get an iStick 30 and an Aspire Mini nautilus tank within your budget; and an eGo pen kit will be cheaper still.

I totally get what your saying.I've read up a lot on vapes(not saying I am an expert whatsoever) just that I am aware that it is not a concrete thing that they are not harmful. Stress and anxiety are leading to some minor health problems and I am willing to weigh the odds with vaping if it helps with it.And I would be doing non nicotine liquids.Thank you for the suggestions!

Amber, read what you can about the current studies and make an educated decision, one that works best for you.

As an adult there are a lot worse things you can do to harm yourself. If it relieves stress and anxiety it better than any over the counter drug a doctor could prescribe.

Well said. That gear should get you started if you wish to try. I would recommend the iStick/Nautilus combo over an eGo pen as it will give you more room to expand in the future if you decide to do so. Let me suggest you go to a vape shop, if one should be handy to you, so you can see these parts and handle them yourself. Having done so and determined which you might like to try, purchase if you wish, or order them online where they will be cheaper.

Amber,
I was not a smoker before I tried vaping. I, like you, enjoyed it around my friends. I also struggle with anxiety from time to time and I have found that vaping is nice during high stress times. To me it is like aromatherapy! Since vaping is so new I decided not to vape anything with Diacetyl since there seems to be only negative points attached to the long term effects of this organic compound. That being said, my favorite fruity all day vape is called "White Queen" by The Vaping Rabbit. It is described as a raspberry tart. It has a really nice fresh flavor with a slight creamy note to it. It is 99% VG with 0 Diacetyl.

I know I am not giving much to chew on but I hope this helps!

I know it will vary but are they a lot more expensive in the shops? There is one right up the road from me.If it's something I enjoy it's worth the money but If I can save some I will. I've been meaning to stop in but the whole non smoker thing has made me sort of nervous to go in a vape shop..Posting here has helped a lot and I appreciate the help!

My husband and I are nonsmokers also and we're both newbies also. He has a kangertech evod with an evod tank and is happy with it. I started with a cheap $20 ecig (the ST101-s) and the battery life was awful . So a few days later I upgraded. I now have an iJust d16 with an aspire et-s tank (I'm getting the nautilus though). I'm happy with my setup for now but I do expect to move up to a mod really soon (starting to like the cloud aspect of vaping).

Vaping really calms me down and is soothing to me also so I understand how you feel.

I can't give you a figure, but yes, there will be variance. There's just more overhead in a B&M store, and it has to be covered. You might start by looking online at some of the equipment I and others have mentioned, get an idea of at least the shape, etc. This should acquaint you somewhat with pricing. Then, when you go into the store, you can see how much they will vary.

howdy, Amber - and welcome - the suggested istick and nautilus would not only be a decent starter setup, it would also not need to be upgraded soon (unless the dreaded shinyitis hits... beware the shinyitis)

most decent juice flavors are absolutely available in 0 nic options - and there is always the diy juice option, which makes 0 nic very simple

Did somebody mention shinyitis? I haven't bought new vape gear all week, honest...
me neither... mostly... as long as we don't count stuff i bought last week that should arrive this week... that doesn't really count, does it?

"start diy'ing... you'll save money... to spend on other things... shiny things... " who the heck thought THAT was a good idea...
