I don't smoke cigarettes, and I'm not addicted to nicotine, but I want to get an e-cig. I enjoy tasting the flavors all my friends get and know I'd enjoy having my own, and think it'd be a fun past time learning some smoke tricks with it. I would not get the liquid with nicotine, since I obviously don't need one. So, my only reason for not already having one, is I feel like it'd be weird for me to invest in one since I don't smoke, and most everyone I know has one to help them quit. Do you think it's a good idea, or a bad idea for me to get one?

It's becoming more common for non-smokers to take up vaping flavored NO NICOTINE e-cigarettes.

My own daughter (college freshman) is a non-smoker. For her birthday she requested her own e-cigarette to be able to vape flavored NO NICOTINE. Since her older brother, BF, and several of her closest friends all smoke, I was concerned that she also might take up smoking. I made the decision to get her an advanced starter setup.

Within a couple of months her brother, BF, and a couple of her friends got their own e-cigarettes and have either quit smoking or are in the process of attempting to.

I noticed some of the couples who come into my local vape shop looking for their first e-cigarettes. One of them is a smoker, the other is not. Often the non-smoker ends up with a kit, too, to use NO NICOTINE flavors along with the partner who uses a nicotine flavored e-liquid. I personally see this as a great bonding activity between the couples to share a common interest and lend support to the smoking partner.

Some use PVs just for flavors... dieters, etc. I see no harm in it but sure wouldn't start inhaling... there's no point and really even nic users don't need to... but then I avoid inhaling air fresheners and hair spray too. BTW, my Aunt smoked the occasional cigarette after a meal without inhaling while she and her pipe-smoking hubby finished their wine... pipe smokers don't inhale either.
