No, not all care. What i meant is only issue with subohm vaping is created by vapers that dont participate in that practice. Its like a constant civil war in the hobby with one side constantly attacking and the other defending and all attackers feel the need to specify how many years in the game as if that somehow validates their point of view.
I have about 5 solid years does that mean my opinion is worth more than someone newer or younger and less than someone older with more time vaping?
Thats what i mean by the entitlement i see thrown around.

I do see what you mean. It might behoove all of us to give a bit more understanding to those who vape in (simply) a different style than we do. I truly do not believe there is a wrong or right way, just styles. And they all count.

I actually might give a tad more credence to your opinion as a vaper of 5 years, knowing that you've had a lot more experience than someone who just picked up vaping.

A tough one for sure.. We all picked up smoking for one reason or another, I started a few months before I turned 18 in 1993, carried on for 20 years til I quit last year. After getting over it and realizing the damage it did to me (and my wallet) Id really prefer kids in general NOT take up smoking but then being an old '{Moderated} YOU GOVERNMENT DONT TELL ME HOW TO LIVE' person for so long it feels kinda hypocritical. I WOULD like to think that after all this time, the younger generations would know by now what it does and wouldnt think to take it up.. If theyre gonna vape theyre gonna vape it, but I wont recommend or encourage it to someone whos never smoked before.. Last year I was working at a place where 3 of the guys were vapers, I was still on a pack of Pall Mall red 100s a day. I asked a couple of em about the basics, what would I need to get, how long did the nicotine last compared to my pack of smokes, etc.. NONE of them were of any help because they never smoked before. They just did it because it was the new 'thing to do'. Good for them if they want to kill themselves, but not so good for the reason it was intended, to get us off smoking, and it just baffled me why people that never wouldve taken up smoking to begin with decided, "Oh, well this must be cooler then". Guess thats just how the times have changed or something.

As it is, I saw something today that kinda affected the way I look at vaping, at least in regards to where I do it and who I do it around.. After almost a year Im down to only 6mg juice and this was kinda scary. Cats left us a 'present' this morning in the form of what was left of a dead bird in the grass near the front door of the house. By this afternoon there was a steady army of ants strolling along clearing it up for us.. Porch was covered with em where I sit outside and vape and me being the almost 40 still immature guy I am blew a couple huge vapes from my dripper on the swarm to get them away from me and my chair. Couple minutes later, I looked down and half the pile of ants were laying there dead on the tile. When I started vaping, I took it for granted as 'safe' and was allowed to do it in the house, in the car while driving everyone around, including my (now ex) girlfriends 13 year old kid in the car/house, etc.. Ive done stupid stuff like blow smoke at bugs and things before with cigarettes and never seen the poisonous carbon monoxide smoke from an exhale kill insects like that (but yes we all know what that does to US over time so imagine my shock at a 'safe' vape exhale taking out a colony of black ants in a matter of minutes). After today I dont think Ill be vaping in the house ever again, even when no ones home. Or doing it while driving around with anyone in my car or whatnot. When Im in the house I cant go anywhere without my 2 cats or my little kitten HAVING to be with me, or at the kittens preference sleeping in my lap, and that just really freaked me out thinking of all the times Ive been vaping while shes been laying there on me while I was watching tv not even concerned with the clouds I was blowing out. Its a good thing I dont have kids of my own or I probably wouldve gone into a total panic hah.

Your ant story has got me a little worried Monotremata! I vape in my house, and like you, my cat (in my avatar) is with me constantly, he never lets me out of his sight. No kids either, so he is my baby. Think it might be time I reconsider where I vape.

Yeah I hate to be 'that guy' in the thread but it really shook me up when I saw that. Im all for vaping, and my body alone is telling me its a hell of a lot better than smoking was but still.. I remember reading on here awhile ago that the vapor we were exhaling was pretty much all PG and VG since the nicotine was being absorbed by our bodies but, apparently not. Just want everyone to be careful and be aware that this stuff hasnt really gone the distance and been proven safer than anything yet. If anything I ever did caused harm to my little 'family' I dont think Id ever be able to forgive myself for being so careless about it.

And please take my word for it, dont start go blowing vapes at ant hills to see if it really works hehe.. Those poor guys just wanted some free food.

Experience is one thing and preferences are another.

I guess if someone is going to "start smoking" or "start vaping", vaping would be a better option. I started smoking because I thought I was cool and showing my rebellious side :)lol:  ) Kept at it for over 25 years. Knew I needed to quit - just hadn't found the right motivation. Vaping looks to be a less-harmful substitute for why I needed (need) to smoke.

I Tootle Puff, and I play with clouds. Both options satisfy me. However, when folks jump into this with NO regard for how mods, batteries, coils, Ohm's and Watt's Laws work - THAT'S what concerns me. Yet another thread I read this weekend - "I wrapped two coils around a nail, and I'm not getting the cloud I was getting before. P.S. I don't have an ohmmeter"

REALLY???????

Rather than condemning someone's vaping style (just because you can run your STM 0.5ohm coil at 35W doesn't mean that's how *I* like to run my 0.5ohm coil) we should EDUCATE each other. Respect each other - we're all humans, right?

I come to ECF for recommendations and advice. I don't want to continuously read snits about "my mod is bigger than your mod". I have a few brain cells that like to be used. I want to be challenged; I want to learn. Can't learn anything when everyone's panties are in a wad.

Let's be LEADERS and TEACHERS. This is amazing technology that has great potential to reduce harm in people's lives.

Just my opinion, please don't take this negatively:

Camel used to use a cartoon camel; Marlboro used the Marlboro Man; Movies used famous actors (smoking in movies);

Nowadays, a lot of vape companies I've noticed (especially at vaping expos) are like aftermarket car parts companies - using half naked barely legal girls to promote vaping - what exactly does this say about vaping?

Hey now you leave the comic-cons outta this! Most of those half naked girls there choose to dress up like that you leave them be!! ;)

I'm in the process of picking up vaping. Smoked for about 12 years, quit when I got married 7 years ago. I was initially drawn to vaping as a "working prop" for costumes, but after reading a bit more, I am going to give it a try. I have horrible anxiety and anger management issues, analogs always helped with both of those (even had a Dr. tell me [at 15] to keep smoking since it worked better for me than any of the anxiety medication) Now that my son is hitting the "terrible two" stage and home life is becoming very stressing, I need to do something.
