All of the USB type C devices and wireless charging devices I know of are box mods and therefore out of the running per the second quote.

However, in your second quote, you said removable battery tube...

Google the following devices:
  • UWell Nunchaku
  • Ijoy Saber (20700)
  • Digiflavor Helix
  • Tesla Punk 86
  • Ehpro Mod101
  • Mod 101 Pro (20700)
These are all tube mods that take removable batteries. Most are within your price range, I think.

If you're seriously considering this path, though, you'll also need spare batteries, battery cases, and a charger. Please remember to put the batteries in a case when transporting or storing. Loose batteries can be a part of a recipe for disaster.
Also the aspire nx75, preferably the nx75a. Very plain looking, but very small, light, and a solid mod

Hi,

new guy here. Is there a non-usb charging vape out there?

Any ideas??
all mechanical and most regulated tube mods like provari dont and didnt use usb's, Well that would of been a great recommendation 5 years ago, but not really today because most prefer boxes and tubes are a little underpowered by today's standards. I love my aspire nx75a boxes , as they use the USB 2 type

@vapdivrr means that it uses USB-C. He wrote "USB 2" my mistake.

He was very kind to share some info about the NX75-A when I was looking to buy. I ended up liking it so much that I bought a lot of them... and in every color! Haha! They are machined from a solid piece of aluminum and anodized. The quality of construction is MUCH better than the typical zinc alloy.

If you want USB-C, make sure to buy the NX75-A or NX75-S. They have USB-C. The regular NX75 just has micro-USB.

This made me look them up. Apparently the -A and -S models are both from the “CNC edition” version. The A is aluminum and the S is stainless steel.

I don’t know why they even make a microUSB2 version if they went to the trouble of getting USBc to work. USBc is tons better and the port costs a whole ¢17 more.

It's like wiping with silk. ;) :D

Here's a video of the CNC machining.

For comparison...

This NX75-A is machined from a solid block of aluminum. It wastes a lot of material and labor to manufacture this way which is why it is not common. But the waste can be recycled and the product is much nicer than cast parts. Most other mods are made of cast zinc alloy. Some other mods use thin aluminum but I don't know of any inexpensive mods that are CNC machined from a solid block of aluminum. It's something that you usually only see on high end mods like the Mini-Ecig.

The stainless has no finish. Anodizing increases the hardness of aluminum. I don't remember the exact number but I think the rockwell hardness can be as high as 60. It is much more durable than paint.

In contrast to the anodized aluminum used for the NX75-A, the regular NX75 is just painted zinc alloy. That's how most mods are made. There's lots of paint wearing off. I stole this photo from the web for comparison. I don't have the regular version.

I only know of two devices.
IPV4 (100 W) first model, uses a round jack at 9 Volt stabilised.
Piooner 4 You removed the charger on the next model, the 120 W one, because the charger wasn't balanced, and people were using disparaged 18650; the concept of "married" batteries was still to spread around.
The other mod with a Non micro-USB are the Dicodes, which uses a personalised connection for charging.
I have many different devices and I can say, your quest - very likely - is going to be unsuccessful. Only proprietary and personalised devices may use a round charging jack. I don't know of any.
A newer mod actually on sale - the Edge - use induction charger, like many phones. Maybe is worth for you to place a charge receiving coil inside your mod - if there is room.

I like the Aegis very much, but it is by far the biggest of my mods.

I have another recommendation: the Asmodus Colossal.

It is BIG and the fire button isn’t the most comfortable for me to use all day. It’s my “emergency” mod. Or one of them anyways lol!

Agree. The Aegis is well built, accurate, and solid. Size is the only downside, but for around the house vaping it's a great mod. It reminds me of one of those table cigarette lighters you used to see. Pocket carry works in the winter when you are wearing a jacket, but it's definitely not a pants pocket carry mod.

You're talking about the Colossal, right? [Note: This question now makes no sense in light of @DaveP's clarifying edit to his post.]

@RayofLight62 mentioned it already.. IPV Pioneer4you makes mods with a 5volt roundplug (and adds a usb5v->roundplug cable to the package)

I ordered this one just yesterday, the IPV D3S

Ten bucks?!
That is some super affordable mod there even if it seems it won’t do stainless steel TC. I’m tempted to pick one up on general principle. Unfortunately I went the other way and already bought an aspire NX75-A (the main aspire website still has a few left. Blue and red only). Cost 5 times what that thing does though. Sadly that and some square sectional stainless wire killed my monthly vape budget completely.

tc not the best but it's ok ;)

hope that isn't the op that got a pioneer :( build quality on these things are extremely bad but at $9.99 and has a yihi board..bargain

I use my iStick Picos often. I have the a couple of 20W and a 40W iSticks as well as silver Pico 75 and a black Pico 75. I just ordered a new Pico S the other day from Fasttech.

I have the original IPV D2, and it's still running strong. I bought it when it was first released.

I also picked up the updates to it, the D3 and D4 when I found the prices drop on them later.

It's a pretty darn small, single 18650 device, with a decent YiHi chip in it. The charging port not being a micro usb was annyoing to me, but I charge externally anwyays.

Mine are backup devices since I squonk now, but these are great beaters. I carried my original one for a few years and it still works like a champ. The D3 and D4 are still in the boxes. Didn't get them for $9.99 like you, but I was happy with the price when I bought them. I think I paid probably close to $70 for the D2, but then again, it was when it was first released, and it was a pretty high tech device at the time. ;)

I think this 'D series' was probably one of the more solid P4Y designs.
