I am still new to vaping but I can tell you that I bought an eGo-C Twist 1000 as my first E Cig and I love it because I can lower the voltage down to about 4.0 in the morning so I don't choke myself and then as the day goes on I can increase the voltage to get more of a hit. By the end of the day/night I am at full 4.8 and getting a helluva hit. I also have found that different juices need different voltages to taste good to me. I don't know if that's just me or if it is true for everyone but that's my take on it.

Good luck and ENJOY! :vapor:

Noob here too. First I got a disposable, a pretty big one. I quit smoking the day I got it. It lasted about 2 days. It tasted like plastic so I wasn't real impressed with it. I went to Walmart & got a Joy kit. It tasted like plastic too & had disposable cartridges. I was on the road traveling & stopped at a tobacco super store in Arkansas & got a NicStick kit, extra refillable cartridges prefilled & a 10ml bottle of regular juice. I really like them but seems one has to go to NicSticks site to get them. I have filled two expended cartridges but haven't smoked them yet. I got a USB to car charger adapter at Walmart so I could charge the battery on the road. While in MO I fell off the wagon & smoked cigarettes for a couple of days there. Nothing like a real smoke but I've got to stop it & have for the last 4 days. It says in the instructions that 4 to 6 drags on the E is equivalent to a cigarette. Don't know about that but that's what I've strived for. I can vape all day on one charge & one pre-filled cartridge. That is fine if it holds up. I'm doing this, can't say I'm really hyped about it but I'm trying & I hope it sticks. I really don't want to work this hard to smoke/vape but to quit smoking I can see it in the cards....

Ok, so I got my 1st e-cig, the ego-T 650mah w/the Nova Tank (big)...so far, so good. It's been almost 3 hours w/out a reg ciggy and I have no desire for one. Boy, the Juicy Vapor shop/lounge is really impressive. Big, quite professional, lotsa staff. First impression is great. About Us ◄ check it out. I went with the 18 mg nicotine level for now as I was smoking 2 packs a day. I'll probably adjust this as time goes on.

Sitting down, facing forward.
To answer the OP....To keep it simple, variable voltage allows you to change how "hot" the temperature is that produces the vapor. By doing so the flavor and amount of vapor produced can be controlled. Unfortunately, variable voltage systems are rather large, too large for "hands free" operation. I use the Volt X2 at times daily and managed to drop one into a pot of marinara while I was vaping. As far as how long batteries last, that depends entirely on how much you use them. I get a few, as in two to four, hours off a 78mm Volt battery and four to eight hours off a Volt X2-650 battery. I'm a fairly heavy vaper and don't think that is bad at all. I thought nothing of lighting another cigarette every half hour or more so what's the big deal to change a battery and put one on a charger every couple of hours? It is a good idea to have spare batteries, no matter what system you select, they have a habit of going dead at the worse possible time! As far as charging them, it is "good prictice" to remove any battery from the charger for safety reasons, especially lithium based batteries since leaving them on a trickle charger can ruin them.

Here is what I want - a battery to fit the cartimizers I purchased, size 510, that does not have to use a push to vape button. Any suggestions?

If you want a 510 auto battery then your choices are very limited. Blu and Joye are both 510. The fluxos would screw on to the battery but how well they perform would depend on the ohms of your fluxo.

Do you know what ohm fluxos you have?

The best performing auto batteries have a KR808 connection. I would hate to see you shell out a bunch of cash for a new kit so they will fit your $10 pack of fluxos. If I were you and ready to buy a new kit I would just go for the best thing that meets my criteria regardless of the connection. You could then spend $2 on an adapter to make the fluxos work, assuming you have the correct ohm fluxos.

Once you have enough posts, you can go to the Got Vapes forum and get some help from the GotVapes staff. I buy from them quite often and they have always been top-notch with customer service. You can maybe see about returning/exchanging your fluxos.

Does dropping the voltage reduce the throat hit? I don't have a variable volt, mostly because I'm fairly happy with my setup, and didn't feel like I needed to crank it up. But I hadn't thought about the advantages of tuning it down. That I could go for.

Thank you for your direct response. I am willing to for go the $10 for the fluximizers if I have to do so. I do want to move to a more flexible system - I think thee 808 is larger than 510 - is that correct?

Yup, 808 is larger than 510.

The 'Volt' from Smokeless Image is gonna be the best option out there in terms of an auto cig-a-like. If you go back and read the first 15ish posts in this thread, then you should have some pretty good info.

Here is your adapter if your interested......

From GotVapes: 808 to 510 adapter [gotvapes-808to510-adapter] - $3.99 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Same adapter, just cheaper place to pick one up: 901/808D Battery to 510 Atomizer Adapter

If you have any other questons.... Just ask!

For your size comparisons:

Far left is a real smoke

You would be going for the ones 2nd and 3rd from the left which are the 65mm and 78mm battery sizes. The 78mm will obviously last longer between charges. Other than that, they are the same.

Congrats Buffalobob So happy for you you picked a good set up the only thing I will tell you is keep with it. I was about a 1-1.5 PAD habit and in less than a mth I'm on the 6mg. Truth be told if I reach zero Nic I will probably still vape because I enjoy vaping.

Thing you will notice
1. You don't stink like ciggerettes
2. Food taste so much better you can taste the hints of flavor in food.
3. You will be able to breathe better
4. Your little nuicences of smoking will not stop, I was having a convo in another forum about just this. things like Flicking your ashes, Rolling the window down in the car, Me I have a ashtray I keep my e-cig in I know it sounds weird but I actually like it

Yes the 65 looks like what I have - anyone know the proprietary size of the Choice No. 7? If I had that I would be more comfortable getting an adapter.
I will order some volts - to try out my new fluximizers
I did pick up a (cheap) Nicotek at a gas station on the highway one trip - it does take the Choice micro atomizer but not the charger (it came with its own). The size is close but.... no cigar:2cool:

Thank you

V2 is a great company. My personal favorite is vapor4life they have the best customer service around (I once ordered something from them and they forgot my juice so I called and they sent me my juice and three other things for free!). I would reccoment the ego if you dont care about your e-cig not looking like a real cigarette. The cigarette style e-cigs tend to have not that great battery life. The ego is a little bigger and the battery will last you all day.
