I want to apolozie straight away if I'm posting this in the wrong place, being a new forum member (as well as new vaper) I thought this was the best place. I've been experimenting with disposable e-cigarettes for a few weeks and finally have picked up a couple of non-disposable systems. The first ws the Titan Tank from TW (compact kit). I really enjoyed it and really didn't encounter much in teh way of leaking tanks (granted, I haven't had it all that long). This week I happened to be in Eugene, OR on business and stopped by a vape shop there (which brings me to my question).

At the shop I picked up a Kgo kit that included clearomizers, I really enjoy the device and running it with the clearomizer- the only thing is it appears I may be leaking some. The guy at the shop actually filled the clearomizer for me (I'm not mentioning the shop's name just to be careful, though I will say service was EXCELLENT! If someone let's me know it's ok I would be happy to name the shop.

Anyway, as I was vaping throughout the day I kept an I on the level, I was impressed that it wasn't going as quickly as I thought, then this morning I noticed it was slighly lower then expected (I had checked it the night before). I did spend the night in the airport and spepnt all day on planes with the device in my shirt pocket, by the end of my all day travel from the west coast to the east coast and finally back to the midwest it appeared my clearomizer was practically empty (and I wasn't vaping since I was on the plane most of the time). I'm wondering if this is something I have caused by having the thing stored vertically in my pocket for what was probably a good 20-24 hours? OR is it possibly the case the the liquid wicks into the atomizer part of the clearomizer, so when it reads low or empty in the tank portion that liquid is in the cartomizer (I realize I may be way way off base with that theory). Any way, if there's something I'm doing wrong I want to fix it, I really enjoy the 555 I picked up (had only tried menthols so far) and don't want to waste any of it if I can avoid it.

Also, any advice on a good set up (in terms of atomizer, tank, clearomizer, etc) for the Kgo? I don't need a ton of capacity (while it's convenient my feeling is that if leaks do develop I'd hate to have a huge volume and lose all that juice. Any suggestions are most appreciated. Thanks again!

Edit- I realized I didn't mention any useful information on the clearomizer I'm using. I checked the website for the shop and have a little more info (though not a brand name for it). Here's the info I have on the clearomizer I'm using (it was the one recommended by the shop):

Two 2.2ohm CE4 Clearomizers (recommended)

Also, the Kgo I'm using is the 1100 Mah, I believe it is the first generation??? I did notice some juice on the top of my battery when I unscrewed the clearomizer from the battery to check. Not sure on the PG/VG ratio of the 555 I got, but I'm sure I could find out. Again, any advice greatly appreciated. I really like this set up but don't like the idea of wasting juice, especially when 10ml can last me at least a few days (I'm more of a light vaper with occassional vaping binges - I was the same with analogs and pipes).

Hi - if it was leaking, you'd know it. E-liquids tend to be a little thick (even at a high pg ratio). I've noticed with my clearos (Stardusts & clones) quite a bit of juice can flow down to the bottom and be difficult to see if it's been sitting for awhile. As long as it's not leaking and you're not getting bad hits, just fill it up and vape ;) One thing about the clearos, you do need to tip/swirl them around periodically to keep the wicks wet.

Thanks Ocelot, that definitely makes sense and I know this clearo was just sitting around quite a bit due to traveling. Have got any bad hits, actually I think they may be even better now then the first few (though, I must say having only vaped menthols I was pretty impressed with the 555 I tried - making a concious effort to not get caught in the menthol rut!!! ) Thanks again!

Willyvee - welcome to the forum. I am pretty new at vaping too and I have been using the CE4 (I think also called Stardusts) and for the most part I really like how they vape and taste.

I have had a few leaking problems - the one time I was in a hurry because I was going out - after the second vaping session I got juice in my mouth and when I took the CE4 off the battery it was leaking. I am pretty sure that I did not get the tip back on properly. I rinsed it out and let it dry overnight. The next day I filled it being very careful and made sure the tip was back on correctly and it worked fine.

Today I had one leak again. This time the juice I was using was 100% VG and very thick. I was using a brand new CE4 and was very careful to not get juice down the center tube. However, when I went to vape - I was not getting much if any vapor. I took the CE4 off the battery and it was leaking. So I added two drops of a higher mg 60/40 PG/VG juice and 3 drops of boiled and cooled water. Basically thinned the juice. Blew thru the mouthpiece with a kleenex to catch the drops and let it sit for a few minutes to be sure it was not leaking - now it seems to be working fine.

Neither of these situations sound like yours. Although I did read in another thread probably a month ago of someone that had flown with juice in a clearomizer and they had not vaped while flying - however some of their juice had "disappeared" as if it had leaked. The person was experienced - I believe they have been vaping for over a year and said they had the ecig in their shirt pocket and no indication of a leak - but some of their juice was gone.

I see that you have continued to use yours and it appears to be working - so it almost sounds like it was affected by the flying. I guess anything is possible.

@ kariM - I've found that if I only fill the CE4s about 2/3 full, and then roll up a piece of paper towel and slide it up the bottom hole to absorb excess juice they don't leak. YMMV of course.

That sounds like a good plan - I think both times I have had a leak I probably filled them right to the 1.6ml line. I will try the 2/3 fill next time. I have noticed that with the Kanger T2 I can fill it pretty much to the 2.4ml mark and have had no leaking problems. I was not as happy with the flavor with the T2 at first - but have found it is much better after the first fill.

Oddly enough, I found the "Sunrise" (Stardust clones) sold by ECBlend work better than any others I've tried, although (being clones) it could have just been the batch I got. I tend to pick up CE4s from vendors when I'm buying juice, so I've tried a few. Smoke Revolt also has CE4s on sale for $2.99, but I can't think of anything else to order from SR so I haven't tried them yet.

The kgo is an excellent batt have 3 of them and they still work great 8 mos later. I would suggest an upgrade to a vivi nova tank, they are easy to fill and clean. Sounds like you are doing very well so far. I found the ce-4 clearos are the worst. They leak and are not easily cleaned a ce5 would be a better buy in the long run.

You know, I have 4 or 5 CE5s in the plastic wrapper, along with a whole pack of replacement atomizers just sitting in my closet.

While they don't leak, they do tend to taste funny. Sometimes burnt even.

I ended up using a tank/carto setup and these work a lot better.

I have an Artemas tank with dual Coil cartos and a Phiniac tank. The juice delivery is much more consistent even when the juice runs low. With the CE 5 unit, the taste would get all silicone-y.

I can say I had leaks with the smaller CE5s, but not with the 2.5ml version.

Typed on my mobile. Please excuse typos.

Hello Kari, thanks for the welcome! I've been keeping a close eye on my juice level in the clearo's since I've been home and definitely haven't noticed any more missing juice- I didn't think of it until I read your reply, but it may well have been the flight - actually, I noticed that it seemed like my juice level was much lower while I was on the plane. I'll be flying again for work in a couple of weeks, I may have to do an experiment. It would be interesting to find out if a higher PG or VG juice might fare better on flights. I must say, I'm relieved as I really like my Kgo/Clearomizer set up. I'd flown with a 510 tank, but the tank holds such a small amount I don't think I would have noticed any loss. Definitely something to keep an eye on- thanks!

Thanks Klynnn, I've been seriously considering the viva nova tank - looks like a great setup. I'm shopping for juice at the moment, I may have to add the viva nova to my next order!
