The high nicotine level for initial vaping is REALLY great advice...

While I understand this isn't the point of the thread, I can't let it go by. This is horrible advice.

I've been here for 5 years and have seen countless people posting in fear, sitting up half the night frightened, rushing to their doctor, rushing to the emergency room, with nausea and palpitations, afraid they might have a heart attack, because of exactly that advice. It is horrible advice.

Having people feeling ill and frightened is an awful introduction to vaping. It causes people to reject vaping and frightens others away from trying it and it's provided ammunition for regulations that none of us want to see happen. It is a major failing that, after this many years of discussion and evidence, this forum isn't lockstep in advising newbies to start at low or medium and be prepared to step up or down, depending upon result, after their first day or two of vaping.

My comments aren't intended to be personal, they reflect my adamant belief.

i've been experimenting (ok not very scientifically...) on some of my heavy analog smokin buddies with various cartos and juices (ranging from 0nic to 34mg) and it seems the biggest thing that gets them to say "it tastes good" or atleast be impressed with the flavor were clearomizers.(something like this for the 808d t4 clearo) The standard cartomizers they liked the heat but taste - clearos all the way. as most of the pro's here have said, it comes down to personal preferences- but high nico didnt seem to have an effect on the "blind taste test". just my 2 cents.

EDIT:
oh and a quick note... your kit v1p pcc are oem'd from china. I've ordered lotsa samples from various suppliers there (being in asia has its perks ;) ) and ill say ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT of their included prefil cartridges/eliq were absolute caca. waxy or plastic residues. or weird aftertastes.

I've always been a "more is better" and "get my money's worth" kind of guy.
I smoked 25-30 Morley Special Blend red 100s every day.
The first kit I got came with prefilled 24mg cartomizers.
I thought I'd like some strong-as-possible carts to get my money's worth.
I'm glad I got into flavors other than tobacco before stocking up.
I started with 24mg juices and some 16mg just to try different flavors even though 30mg was available.
From the flavors I tried at the store I suspected that I'd be vaping much more than high mg would allow.

I really like many flavors and have chain vaped most of the 1 month plus since I started.
I have stopped buying 24mg and now only buy 18mg juice so I can chain vape without killing myself.
I might someday drop to 12mg but not for at least 4-5 months. (450ml of 18mg hoarded so far)

My buddy got a free unused V2 kit from one of his friends. It came with 6mg & 12mg carts.
He lives 50 miles to the closest brick & morter vape shop so I offered to get some bottles for him.
He insisted that I get him the strongest juice possible against my advice.
They had 36mg tobacco so that's what he got. He can barely vape it, gets too much TH and the spins.
He can't wait to get some reasonable mg juice to cut it with.
I told him but nooooooo.

On the subject of high nicotine--from my personal experience and observations. :)

High is not a precise term. And different people have different tolerances and different smoking/vaping habits. I've met people who smoked full flavor Marlboro reds and couldn't vape anything higher than 12 mg. I also know some ultra lights' smokers who needed 24 mg to help them over the worst cravings. There are no rules. If you chain vape, it's always advisable to go with the lower strengths. If you are only allowed a 5-minute cig break a couple times a day while at work, 18 mg or even 24 might work better.

I always advise new vapers to have 2 bottles of the same flavor in 2 different strengths--12 and 18 or 12 and 24. Those two can be mixed together or used separately, as needed.

36 mg is high--and I never recommend it. But I know people who have used 36mg, occasionally.

Whatever works. :)

I have only been vaping for about a month, but I've tried a few ejuices. Some good, some bad, but the one that is my all day vape is Kentucky Applewood from vermillionriverejuice.com. A real nice apple tobacco flavor....not real sweet but leaves a wonderful taste in the mouth. Their K-max is also good. I smoked for 50 years-a pack and a half a day. Haven't touched a real cig since I received my kit. I use a eGo Twist 1000 and either Mini ViVi Novas or Kanger T3s. Get a good vape and the flavor is awesome.

18mg staves off most of my cravings. I don't keep track well but I'm vaping 3-5ml/day.
I chain vape when I watch DirectTV (too much).
When I drive or hike or do much of anything else I don't usually crave and just occasionally puff.
I guess I get what I need but I might have been a good candidate for WTA.
I decided against WTA because I like to be as clean as possible within reason.
My system will eventually adjust any MAOi inbalance naturally.

25 years clean/sober, never used psyche meds
I enjoy coffee but keep it to 3-4 cups/day unless it's Jamaican Blue Mountain then ABAO
I'm ok with nicotine for now but smoking sucks.
Vaping was the easiest way to drop 50+ carcinogens and thousands of chemicals.
I'll lower my nic when/if it's time to.

First day on cigalikes:
The carts advertised that they're equal to 1.5 packs per cart.
I vaped 3 of them and said "Holy ....., I just vaped over 4 packs of butts worth!"
Come to find out they really hold .5 packs so I naturally self administered the correct dosage LOL
Double blind test yo

Hey! post #100 what do I win?

All over the place
Burnt, dry , plastic.

That's the set-up, not vaping. Getting into vaping is like getting into music--music is the juice and PVs and (JDSs) juice delivery systems, e.g., cartos, attys, Tanks, etc., are like sound systems. Maybe your first set-up is like listening to a horrid garage ban on a janky cassette Walkman. Trust me, the gear (PVs/JDSs) and the music (juice) gets much, much better!

Hang in there and beware of reviews on certain sites. From this point on (and for awhile) check here on ECF first to see what others think.

Yes on the above. Also, the PV/Setup matters too. When I switched from 3.7 volt stuff to 5 volt stuff....I about knocked myself on my tush with nic. Once it vaporizes well, and you get clouds, it makes a difference.

You have to be aware of nic and its effects. I could probably vape anywhere from 18 to 36 and not OD...but I'm "aware" now. And it's different with vaping than smoking for some reason. You have to be a bit more "in tune". That said, few people have ever O.D.ed on cigs or nic or e-cigs. They usually just get sick 1st...special conditions excepted were nic is a contributing factor. Most realize what is going on.

So...I agree with the above posters....over-nic-ing is stoooooopid. So, BTW, are the "wattage competitions".

I like Kat's advice about having 2 strengths of the same flavor and mixing. Many also reduce nic levels at night.

There are so many trap sites out there! Sometimes I wonder how many people gave up too soon. Sad.

Mr.Mann I would have given up if not for fact my ex boyfriend vaped off and on and was able to direct me here and got me a decent set up. He might not still be in my life, but thanks to that I am able to have a life instead of killing myself with smoking.

I read over 300 reviews before I bought it and not one person said they did not get on with it.

Uh oh.

Problem is, a lot of those "reviews" are actually advertisements. I don't know if that happened to you and don't know the vendor you link to but there's a lot of that kind of thing going on out there.

Anyway. According to their FAQ, they use KR808D-1 threads. There are other vendors that sell compatible cartomizers and such. But, also, you can buy "blanks" from them here: CARTOMISERS and fill them with any e-liquid you want. That's what I do. Buy blank cartomizers and bottled liquids from various vendors and fill the carto myself. It's not too hard to do. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to do it like this one: A PBusardo Tutorial : Filling Boge 510 Cartomizers - YouTube. Or search for "cartomizer filling" or "filling cartomizers". There's tons of how-to videos on this.

Though, funny thing, I do P. Busardo's technique just about exactly. Right down to a drip tip instead of the little rubbery tip that comes with the carto. But learned some of it by bumbling around on my own a while. :)

But you have to experiment a bit to find juices that work for you and that you like. There are so many variations out there, I'd be surprised if everybody found the "right one" the first time. Looking back now, I realize that my first experience with a disposable was pure lucky. I liked the vapor. Plain old happenstance that. I've since run into several that range from "blah" to "UGH". :)

All they have on the site is prefilled carts.

No I saw some blank cartos and e-liquids. They have more than just the cig-a-like. Pop back to their home page and you'll find other options. But who they are and whether they're any good... don't look at me, I never even been across the pond. :)

My blank carts should be here tomorrow and a cherry and menthol to try. I do not think I will be sticking with this kit though. I need something a bit more reliable when out at work.
