Well, I suppose I should also report that since I posted way earlier in this thread that I was being lazy and hadn't done DIY yet...we are 100% DIY now. It was easy to get started and mostly everything that I messed up in the beginning was fixable. I still haven't been able to replicate my favorite store bought juice, but honestly, I've quit trying. I've moved on to more diverse flavors. We spend about $30 bucks and the resulting juice we make with it lasts us months and months. And we tend to keep it simple...mostly single flavor juices.

In the land of no hills and red dirt
I bought a LARGE amount of bulk juice from a vendor and it had a god awful nasty taste to it; a friend called it 'skunk juice'. Fortunately, it was high nic so I was able to flavor the hell out of it; it got promoted to 'junk juice'. Not my all time favorite, but definitely vapable. Not buying from that vendor again EVER.

A friend of mine turns his nose up at it, and wonders why I'm still vaping it. Simply put, a) it's good enough, and b) already paid for. And having substantially aged, I'm not getting complements on it. And I've got a large amount of unflavored skunk juice to play with when I'm done vaping my existing junk juice. Did I mention that it was paid for?

I still marvel at people who are always spending a ton of cash to try the latest and greatest blends. Mudflap, love your analogy about budgeting gas and insurance costs when you don't own a car. I suspect there's a lot of people doing that who can't even really afford to ride the bus.

Still using VapingZone super concentrated flavorings w/ bulk VG/Nic juice from Myfreedomsmokes and even at over 6mls of vaping a day, cost to me is about 20cents. That said, I went to a vape fest locally last weekend and tried some juice and ended up buying some outstanding juice (Mt. Oak Vapors- Caramela)...wow!! It's amazing what a good professionally mixed juice does to the taste buds- and what I was missing. From a "Leave it/Take it" free table, I also picked up a bottle of Pink Spot Swagger....very sweet and too strong but a good addition to juices I've been mixing- especially Flue Cured at about 10%... I suppose that's still DIY. So, the journey of vaping still continues and I'll still stay with DIY but the occasional "Knock my Socks Off" vape from some pre-mixed sure is a nice spice to this wonderful life of vaping!

Thanks to this thread I have my first shipment of DIY gear on the way from wizard labs. I can’t wait to get started! Gonna get my PG from tractor supply and my VG from Wal-Mart. I started with LorAnn flavors and a handful from wizard labs but now I wish I would have known about the super concentrated ones from vaping zone. I’m going to give it a go with the LorAnn stuff and if I don’t find success I try some other flavor vendors. Since my wife and I both have REO's now, I can now stop wasting money on new mods every couple of months and spend way less diy-ing my own juices! Excited!

You may find that some of the easiest flavors to work with, (especially for a DIY noob), are Capella's. No chemical or perfume smell or taste and if you use too high of a percentage the taste doesn't go away.

Note: Capella flavors are unsweetened, if you like a sweet juice you'll need to add Sucralose or EM, (cotton candy). Their fruit flavors really don't need any added sweeteners.

I am happy to report that in my rather short vaping career, I spent less than $50 on premixed liquid lameness. On the contrary, I have spent about $250 on unflavored nic base.

The good news is that as low cost as nic base is, that's like 5 liters worth. The best news - I still have well over 4 liters in a state of deep cryogenic sleep in the freezer :)

I am damn glad I hated the taste of flavored juice :) now I can buy another REO. Peering into my crystal ball, it appears that a hammertone silver grand is in my future.

With the warm weather settling in I've been a bit restless with my flavors. Chocolate and bakery flavors are just too heavy. I've settled on a light blueberry that's been awesome.

I use an 18mg VG base and add 2% flavor express blueberry and 2% Loran blueberry. I add 1drop of vinegar per 5ml. It's very light on the flavor. That goes in my reo bottle

I carry one of my tobaccos and/or a diy mentholish mint to drop over it.

Inkdog, next time you make some of your blueberry juice try adding either lemon juice, (100% lemon juice), or LorAnn's Tart & Sour, (they pretty much do the same thing), it'll add a brilliance, a pop, to your fruit flavors.

Vinegar works well for bakery type vapes but doesn't bring out the same flavors as lemon in fruit type juices. (There's no specific percentage to use, start with 1 drop per ml then adjust for taste.)

Great thread, fellow DIY'ers!

I spent countless dollars my first month of vaping...only to find that 80% of the flavors I tried tasted horrible! But then again, that's just me... ; ) The thing I like most...is that you can experiment mixing small "dripping size" batches until you find something you like, then do a larger batch. Then..if you don't like it, it doesn't break the bank. :)

Blueberry fan myself,, TFA wild blueberry at 6-8% in 50/50 base, clean clear and natural tasting.

Jack ya could post that apple fritter recipe ?

The TFA Apple pie with a little Capella's cinnamon danish swirl has been my main vape for a while,,

WHAT... you expect me to post my world famous, award winning, Nobel prize nominated juice so it can be cloned by hordes of flatlanders!!!

Okay, but I'll have to do it in a little while. Took my insulin at 8 this morning and except for black coffee haven't had a thing to eat yet, pretty much ready to pass out... or die.

As soon as I eat something and give it time to take effect I'll come back and grace you all with the treat of your life. (If I don't come back, I'm dead.)
