People tend to forget once they get into the high end mods and rebuildables that there is a rather large group of us that could care less about mechanicals, rebuilding, and everything that goes with it. I have no desire to obtain a rba. I don't want a mechanical. I'm perfectly happy with my SVD and Protanks. I may try a carto tank at some point, but that's as far as I'm going to go with "high end".

I don't want the fuss. I don't want the aggravation. I prefer to drop a new head into the Protank or PuriTank and press on. No fuss. No mess. And I'm much happier for it.

Just because you've gone on to bigger and better things for yourself doesn't mean everyone holds the same view. And quite honestly, I'm getting quite tired of being told that I'm missing out on something wonderful. No. I'm not. In the 10 minutes it takes someone to rebuild their RBA, I've dropped a new head into my Protank, refilled it, and been vaping on the sucker for 9 minutes. THAT is my idea of being happy.

So when someone asks about their Vamo and Protank and wants to know what they should set things to, a huge dissertation about ohms law and the math behind it is completely inappropriate.

I actually agree with you more than I disagree. I don't want to rebuild Protank or Evod coils, either. Too much of a PITA and not worth my time. You may not have an interest in mechs or sub-ohm vaping, but it's all the rage among relative newbs. There is a safety issue involved and it makes sense to understand what's happening in there.

No dissertations needed. The charts and graphics are good, quick references. If someone wants to learn more, there's plenty more info available.

If the new person asks about it, then yes, it's perfectly acceptable to go into the aspects of it.

But when someone asks about what to set their Vamo to when they're using a standard clearo, no, it is not acceptable. Provide the answer they're looking for.

The reason I asked about general settings is I don't have a bunch of disposable income. Being new to mods I would hate to hook up a new iClear 30 or one of my 16's and fry either the clearo or the battery. Then I am stuck replacing it because of dumb@ssary on my part LOL. I was really looking for a starting point (which the chart provided) then I can click + or - to find the right spot, then I can make my own chart based on the clearo in use.

With that said I really enjoy all the info I have been getting! It satifies my geek curiosity about how this stuff works. I have no desire to go sub ohm or rebuild right now, may never have that desire. I like my face and hands and I don't have much spare time :)

Somewhere out there
My personal opinion is everyone needs something simple and portable to grab & go with. I use egos types for that and even use some disposables to carry with me for emergencies. Then everyone needs some type of APV with replaceable batts for their high end vape. I use a Provari for that but it never leaves the house :) So whether you get a mech, a Vamo, a Provari, etc, etc, you need to have one of these for an ultimate vape experience. Plus with replacebale batts, it will last along time. Whatever you get be sure it has good long life with good repair offered so it is a long term investment. Have fun shopping! bnrk

Understandable. I just get peeved when someone jumps into the high end discussions when all the user wanted to know was how to install a tire swing. Reminds me of this image:

Screw that! Press the + button. Does it taste burnt? No? Press the + button again. Repeat until it tastes burnt then back it off with the - button. See how easy that is?

Just like tightening a fastener until it strips and backing off a 1/4 turn. :D (knowing the torque spec and using a torque wrench works better)

Can't seem to find a Vamo specific forum (If there is one please point me there and I'll quit reviving this thread)

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the Vamo V3 and the Vamo Vivi? Seems like it's the ring around the threads on the vivi is not removable (not sure about that though) and of course the shape in general is different. Any thougts?

$58.85 Vamo V3 Stainless Steel Variable Voltage E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger / 2*Sony 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

$50.00 Vamo-Vivi Voltage Adjustable E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger/charger cable/2*Sony 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Notes made above.
I don't remember what the differences between the V2 & V3 are. You can probably find the info in the Vamo forum

You have to understand something. Once you have used a ProVari you can no longer see other peoples price limits even when they post them clearly in online forums....
Not always the case, but there definitely are some feverish fanbois that they offer it as the answer to every question, even when it's very clear that it's not the correct answer. Then again, you also have the mech enthusiasts who inevitably recommend a mech mod/sub-ohm RBA to a brand-new eGo user who doesn't even know how to fill an Evod or attach it to the battery yet.

I like rebuilding my Kanger bcc's. It only takes a few minutes and my builds are usually superior to a factory build for flavor. The price aspect is pretty cool too. My way of 'sticking it to the man'. In this case, the China man

LOL, yeah, just bustin' chops. I think it's humorous and enjoy the little pokes when someone says get a ProVari despite the poster's stated price limit being far below the ProVari price . No one should feel offended, it's all in good fun :)

V3 is RMS only, top cap comes off, and is ugly as sin. :D

I like the V3, it has character... got another one coming :)

Interesting note on the V3. Hold down the right button for a long count, you see the resistance of the coil attached. Hold down the left button for a long count, you see the remaining Batter Level.. very cool short cuts to avoid the menu.

V2 does that, too. ;)

I remember reading that now that you mentioned it. I had forgotten & will definitely use it in the future, thanks Mike.
I use mine without the LED screen on to save the power for vaping.
The old & the new.
The old 1100mAh ego with 3mL Kanger T3 & the new Vamo V3 with 5mL New Vivi Nova Clearomizer clone.

read? You read the manual? You're doing better than I am!
I discovered when I read about holding the button down for 20 seconds and saw it. Then went hmmmm... wonder what the other one does! :)

I keep my displays off also. with the SIDs you press 3 times and then up to the one you want and it will display.

I had to do something while the battery charged.

That applies to the cotton wick crowd. Silica can be ' stripped and backed off a 1/4 turn' so to speak. :)

Your point is well taken though.

I know when I was a newb I was scared to death to burn the wick. Then I heard about dry burning silica. Blew my mind.
