Here's a "kit" with batteries, charger & VAMO that a lot of people have gotten.
It's Stainless - highly recommended for the VAMO, they're GOOD batteries and charger, too.
And room in your budget to ALSO get one or two 18350 batteries (so you make your VAMO smaller).

Just one decent option...

I Got it down to the Vamo V3 and the SVD.....

Either of these would be a fine choice. Although I'd personally lean to the SVD. For batteries, most of these types of mods take 18650 or 18350 IMR lithium-ion rechargeables.

@OP: All 3 are really solid. I got the eVic for my first mod and absolutely loved it. I got the Vamo for my 2nd, and honestly I'm not impressed. It's great, but I preferred my eVic. Also, the Vamo will not work with your iClears, it's 510 only; however, a 510-ego adapter is only like $2.50, so you can still do it if you want. My dad has an SVD that I borrowed every night while I only had eGos. It is really solid. I liked the styling of the SVD, it looks like a friggin' light saber! It feels solid and it's ohm, volt, and wattage meters are spot on accurate.

If I put them in my preferred order:
1. eVic
2. iTaste SVD
3. Vamo

The eVic and the SVD are arguably equal. I never got a side by side comparison on them, so I can't say for sure.

edit: I have the Vamo V2, on inspection the V3 has eGo threading, so there ya go.

When I say I need top coil, I am saying that I love the warm vape, I have a Kanger MT3 bottom coil and hate it. To airy and the vape is way to cool for me

What kind of Batteries do you all use? Brand? Size? Cost?

Novas are cheap top coil atty's and perform pretty well, fairly easy to rebuild too. Iclear 30 vapes like a steam train but isn't rebuildable and they go through twice the amount of juice due to their dual coils. I've not used it's little sister, the iclear 16, but I believe it to perform similarly.

For batteries go with the manufacturer's recommendations. Lots of folks say don't touch anything with the word "fire" in the name, but it's maybe a bit tongue in cheek. The AW IMR High Drain are highly recommended, followed by Efest, Panasonic. The kit linked to at fasttech would be a great start, make sure you get the one with the nitecore charger, which protects from overcharging and burning your house down in general.

I say go for a Vamo. Just be aware that the buttons do not lock.

Don't let anyone tell you an eGo, a Twist, or a Spinner is small potatoes. They're the best bang for their buck, and they make excellent back-ups. I have multiple mods and I still use my Twist, my Spinner, my 3.7 volt pass-through, hell, even my Volts, every day.

It's a cliche, but if it's working for you, go with it. But I will say, buy multiple back-ups of whatever is working for you.

I LOVE the form factor of the Ego's, you can get a big one to last all day, you can get a small one to fit in a shirt pocket and so on. They are cheap and great for starting out! But when it's done, it's done and you throw the whole thing in the trash! I don't like that aspect!
IMR batteries have a decent life, don't seem to crap out as often as the protected batteries and aren't that much more price wise!
So, throw away a $9-$12 battery that's lasted a year or better, or throw away a $12-$30 Ego that lasted 3 weeks to 6 months?
Vamo, SVD, Zmaz, they all pretty much use the same board for electronics, all do the same thing, it's just price and the form factor you like best now!

I'm ready for a sci-fi movie/book where tobacco cigarettes have been replaced by batteries the size of cigalikes with nuclear-level energy densities. And filters with metallic hydrogen coils that never burn out.

A futuristic cigalike that will never need to be recharged and will ALWAYS produce plumes of vapor (something I'm sorta/kinda against, in an oxymoronic way. I can explain.)

Going a little against the norm here. I have had 3 spinners that I have used since they came out. They were my main and backups. I never was without a vape keeping them all charged.

About 3 weeks ago for my 1 year I got a SVD express. It looks cool. It looks hefty. My wife says it is built for a man.

I like the look I just can't vape and drive with it. I like it. All that said... I could live without it. The spinners works just as well for me.

Basically 2 spinners cost the same as the SVD and 2 batteries and charger.

I don't vape the SVD batteries down like I do on the spinner. I usually stop around 3.5 volts. So batteries last about as long per charge.

Kudos to your wife on her support for you.
But my suggestion for you would be a Provari.
Probably the most durable, great customer service.
Couldn't find the thread, but a guy posted that
his Provari flew out of his back pack while he was riding his moorcycle
it got run over by a car. He picked it up and it still worked.
Also another thing about a Provari, even when the battery gets low it still vapes the same.
Good luck and keep vaping.
Oh and comes with a one year mfg warranty.
You can also send it in for repairs after the warranty. Excellent customer service.

You sound just like me about 2-3 weeks ago. I narrowed it to the SVD, the VV and the Vamo 3. All have great features and I was torn.

I ended up getting the Vamo. The power management capability and style just kinda blew me away. It came yesterday and I love the thing. I'm sure I'd have loved all of the others too, but I'm happier than a pig in poo today. I don't think you could go wrong with either of the above.

For now, though... Don't start feeling inadequate with a nice, high capacity eGo battery with the delivery system that's working for you. I still have about seven eGo rigs, ranging from 650mAh with throwaway clearos on them to 1100mAh VV sticks topped with Evods and MT3S systems. They still deliver great vapor and flavor and I'm not giving'em up anytime soon.

When you get that big fat mod in your hands, you're gonna want a bigger tank. Like, a big honkin' DCT carto tank, a ProTank 2 or something with a diameter similar to the Mod itself. I saw that coming and had FastTech throw a couple of DCT's in the package.

I'm sneaking in, as some else already has, and suggesting you give the Sigelei (not Smoktech) Zmax a look. With the telescopic you can use it in the same size configurations as a Vamo. Yes, it cost a bit more, since it isn't sold on FT, but I think it's a better device. I know the many people find the Vamo durable, but I find I have to baby mine more than my other ones. It's top heavy and falls over a lot, and the black chorme finish wore off down the side in under a month. I also have to be careful with the threads while screwing things on (check the Vamo sub-forum for that problem and the one with the connector gasket).

I find it interesting when I have posted these and other observations before, the responses have been: don't leave it sitting upright; you sould have gotten ss; wrap it to protect the finish; get an adaptor to protect the connection - to me that is babying. I don't have to do it with my other mods. I like the Segilei one button menu too. Some people don't, but I don't like having to pay attention when I fire it, so not to accidently press other buttons. And I like the slight delay between functions, so I can see where I am, instead of making sure I hold the button down long enough to get a reading and so too quick it changes the function.

ETA: This is just regarding the Vamo/Zmax, I don't have any of the other mods on the list.

On the few occasions when I have to go back to my eGos for whatever reason (testing a rebuilt coil, etc.), you can really notice the drop off in hit quality.

So I was talking with the better half last night, and she said she was so happy that I am Vaping now. I don't stink, I don't rush just to have a smoke before going into a store or leaving one, I can run around with my daughter and not get winded.

Then she said "for Christmas you can get one of those fancy tech ones, I know your nerd side is dying for one. Try to keep around $100" I was shocked and thought to myself "SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!" So I began the research and looking around. So far I have come up with the eVic, iTaste SVD, and Vamo V3. I gave up looking at the Blade Mod (because I heard they can be dangerous). They look cool, but I just don't know. It seems there is alot that can break or go wrong. I will admit the Tech Nerd in me is excited, but the practicle side is saying to just get a big mah twist or spinner....

My questions are; are they worth it? Which will work with my iClear 16's (I have to have top coil)? What makes them better than the 1100mah ego k's I have now? Any of you fine folks have any of these?

Get an evic I have 3, 2 1.1 and one 1.2 I wouldn't let them go for the world their amazing so customizable I'd definitely compare them to the iPhone of mods. PM me and I'll show you a place to get a solid evic for 70 $

Thanks for all thoughts and suggestions! I went and checked out the Zmax as well. I think I am going to go with the Vamo V3 from FT. It comes with the batts and charger and I have Clearos already. Plus with the $40.00 I can get some more Juice and a few more clearos and atomizers.

The Provari is a no go, the price point puts it way out there....

I really like the look of the Vamo and it will fit my iClear 16's too. I plan on keeping my eGo K's for when we go out and about, I have a lanyard for them already. I really appreciate all your input and thoughts.
