Ugh, that's nasty, Bov. I have a sump pump and a submersible pump. Usually the sump pump is all that I need, but I got the submersible pump, after we had 9" of water in there, a few years ago. That never happened before as we got no more than 4 inches at most. But the last 10 years have been interesting, to say the least.

Hang in there Fran and Bov, we will survive. We are New Englanders !!!!!

Well I have a couple of rooms tar stain free..Got the desk in the house...Wanna spiff it it a bit before starting use...I found the micro-fiber towels kicked the sponges too the curb when cleaning walls...Ya'll woulda' freaked if you saw the amount of tar washing out of those towels..Funny how when you're smoking that stuff is invisible...

Just came in and saw a couple of flakes mixed with the drizzle...Upper atmosphere stuff I guess...It's cold but not cold enough for snow....

Katie just gave me the ok to order it, so I did before she has a chance to change her mind  Jerry, our main problem is that we can't let the water get more than a couple of inches deep or it will hit the furnace. It is only on 1inch blocks so it only has about 6" before the burner is under water. That makes mucking imperative every hour or 2. Can't jack it up for more blocks because of the gas line, pipes, stack, etc.

LOL! Sweet dreams Fran :)

Jerry those prices are why she refused to buy one last year. Read the description on the one I linked...it actually is fully submersible, will suction down to 1/8th inch, has a prefilter. And important to me, the hose attaches at the bottom so it doesn't make it top heavy with an unwieldy, long hose run. If for some reason it doesn't suit the purpose, Wal Mart will take it back.

I hear what you're saying, but I have to pass the Katie test that doesn't use common sense rules ;)

It all comes down to lift height on whether or not the pool cover pump will work...Likely it will work to some degree...I'd find the first spot to get wet and set it there...Try and keep the rise in the hose as low as possible....

I saw my Dad siphon water from our basement for years...35 years....He passed in 95....I found the first spot to puddle and cut the concrete too that spot and installed a 4 inch pipe...I then ran the pipe on a grade all the way into the creek...Worked famously until those frogs built a house in the inlet last Spring...Water was about a foot deep when I unclogged the drain...I also installed a concrete basin just outside the basement door as water liked to collect there as well...Custom formed and hand poured....Signed "Cowboys from Hell" 1996...I do the concrete betcha' bottom dollar it's tagged CFH

The head Cowboy...my avatar was shot dead on stage 12/8/04 in Columbus, Ohio...I was straightening the frame on a car and listening to the local swap shop on the radio...Paul Harvey's news played during the swap shop...He only knew it was a member of Damageplan and a former member of Pantera...I'll never forget that...

We also lost John Lennon 34 years ago on 12/8...

Trust I was beat to Hades after all the acrobatics involved with getting my beach crib insulated...The elbow stabbing and head bashing didn't help...All that ding dang wall scrubbing added too the pain...For an encore I will wash those monster tires and polish up the rims tomorrow...Also got a check valve for my compressor today...It's a 25 dollar valve and i'm praying it saves me from a compressor purchase...Trust this...When those tires are rolling on my Dodge it's freakin' break time....
