Believe it or not, my mom has never in her life had a headache. Honest! She has really never even suffered from pain in any form. ad part about that is that now when she does have pain such as post surgical, it is very hard for her to deal with.

Oh, 5C! I am sorry to hear of your problems as well. Forgive me for going on about my mom. This has been one helluva week and my brain is just not functioning as it should. I do hope that you find some relief soon. Nothing worse than a headache or a toothache IMHO

Tracy, I meant to tell you last night. Presoaking the cCells do make a difference in break in time from what I am able to tell. DH did not try his until the next day after filling. He who likes nothing said, whoa, that IS good on the first two draws. haha...

Mine took a few hours for the flavor to come through since I started using it right away. Day 13 and still as good as day 2. My friend is on month 3 with his cCell. YMMV

Salem, I feel for you about your mom. No reason to keep beating yourself up tho, you can lead a mule to water....

Katie doesn't smoke and never did, but she is burying her head in the sand over her carotid scan results, Won't go back to the Dr to find out what the results were! My mom was just as stubborn. I stopped trying to "make" either of them do what they needed to do. In the end, it's their decision, even when we are the ones who have to deal with their choices :(

Oh, I totally agree. I am not beating myself up though. I have done everything that I am able to do. Just very frustrating is all.

Well Mom's kitchen drain dumps in the corner of the yard...Though the story is no grease ever gets poured down it for the zillionth time it's stopped up...TIGHT!!!!!! Wind chill 15*...water involved....Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point on nicotine being a vaso constrictor......Risk of stroke increases significantly....El Doktor Dee

I've this miracle plant that's a vaso dialator......May have to slip out back before I tackle that fricking drain

If it were to warm up just 5 degrees I'd be thankful for that....Anything lower than 70* Fekkinsucks

NHRA now on Fox Sports 1 {FS1} They are somehow under the impression that the people who tune in have never before seen a drag race....Pretty sure that sport is supported by the hardcore.....

Scored a little oil filled radiator for 19 bucks at the Tractor Supply....end of season sale...Liked it so much I went back and got another

Ya'll ned me I'll be unclogging drains on the frozen tundra and then trying to fix Unc's propane heater.....Least that project has some promise of heat

I feel ya Dee...wind chill here of -25! And do you think my warning Katie to stay in the house did any good?! birds and squirrels need their food, so out she went. I kept eyes on her the whole time...just in case. Super windy with 40mph gusts.

Sorry you have to deal with water in this weather.

There is just so much misconception out there about nicotine. I had remembered reading an article about nicotine myths here at ECF. So, I was doing some reading in the library from a conversation that I was having elsewhere.

You may find the research on nicotine to be useful. Everyone has their own opinion on nicotine but, the facts are that it is not as damaging to health as some people think. Now, if you are struggling with HBP, it may be a concern. :2c:

    Nicotine research

"In contrast, nicotine is part of the diet, everyone tests positive for it, attempts to eliminate it from the diet would probably result in sickness, and we have absolute proof that long-term ad lib consumption has little implication for health. As Dr Laugesen said, "Nicotine is one of the safest of drugs""
    ETA-
"There is no increase of risk for any cancer or heart disease. There appears to be a small increase in risk for stroke but not of great significance."

    Nicotine Propaganda

"Should it 'be avoided'? This would be difficult, completely pointless, and possibly harmful: nicotine is a normal and natural part of the diet, everyone tests positive for it, it is harmless in the diet, and it is closely associated with the B vitamin group. One form of nicotine is vitamin B3 (nicotinic acid). Nicotine and nicotinic acid share several effects in the human organism (such as improving cognitive function in some circumstances), although a deficiency of nicotinic acid can lead to pellagra (a severe deformity of the skin) and psychiatric symptoms."

Of course this is JMHO from research that I have done. Everyone else has to decide what they think is right for them. I have no intentions of giving up nicotine myself anytime soon though.

Hey now, Katie is much like myself. lol I would be right out there in it to feed my birds and squirrels too. ;) DH would feel lucky that I didn't bring them all in the house to weather the storm

May be getting some snow and ice here tomorrow night as well. The snow is fine. The ice will be a whole other story. Fingers crossed for skipping the ice. I don't particularly care to go without power myself.
