We've got extreme flooding all around....14.8 inches of rain here....Drove 50 miles for generator gas....had to give up on the non ethanol....Trust I'm about sick of hearing that damn generator and there is no promise of electricity in the near future...I-95 is gonna be router through the small town to my South....Two seperate bridges cross the Cape Fear River there and one is down due to being underwater....So I-95....small town.....bottleneck at the bridge....What could go wrong????? Last I heard NC's death toll was at 6....From what's going on with the water and from what I've see it's surely gonna rise...There are a lot of places inaccessible where I'm sure life was lost.....We're OK.....maybe better if a shower was possible.....but overall in much better shape than many of my neighbors....
You seem to have luck like mine so I doubt this is possible but, shortly after we moved up here to this podunk town, we had an ice storm and lost power for two weeks. Thankfully there were a few hotels around that offered use of their shower for $15.
We went for just about 30 days after Hugo with no power but, at least we had city water and were able to take cold showers back then. Hang in there, my friend. Better days are surely coming.
Last I heard there were more than 400,000 without power in SC and more than 500,000 in NC. The good news is that 400,000 in SC is only half of what it was yesterday so they are moving quickly to get folks restored.
If all else fails, I am sure that you are familiar with the local creek. lol Sometimes you just gotta look for humor somewhere.
