Tracy, still praying for your MIL

Salem, I probably should have said Sumter is projected to be the next hot spot according to local news. I misunderstood what I read, and the projection is based on how many cases could be unreported. Like you said, it is hard to get accurate info. I'm watching dhec's site too. Dhec says 4 deaths in Sumter County, but our coroner says 6.

Came thru the storms ok here, just some tree fodder to pick up. I slept right thru it.

Keeping your MiL in my thoughts and prayers 908 !!!

Thanks for the kind words about Aunt Mid.....

Got nervous about the approaching storms last evening about midnight....decided to put the Tacoma in the shop in case of hail......Saw flashing blue lights in front of my neighbors house...Nothing but a cop car visible and all my neighbors house lights on....Fearing he had a heart attack or something I called his neighbor and found out it was a wreck...Long/short a local pill head lost control at a high rate of speed and just brushed his house....Tore the yard up pretty good and completely took out a large Dogwood....Destroyed his truck as well....Story was he almost hit someone head on and over corrected....the guy he almost hit turned around and came back....My neighbor stopped him from trying to leave the scene but the front left wheel was sheared off so he couldn't move anyways....Howling wind woke me this am....It was raining and blowing something fierce....Alerts coming in every second on the phone...Worst damage I heard of was about 15 miles north....I had plenty of limbs down but otherwise good.....

The virus is closing in here as well...I've been having a swollen gland from all the drainage from the pollen and feeling like I'm running on empty...I'm tired from the doom and gloom.....

What a sweetie [emoji106]

We went out to camp today and re-winterized the water system, since it looks like we'll get a hard freeze tomorrow night. Hopefully that'll be the last time this season.

I modded the drinking water filter setup in the kitchen, have the triple carbon filter set up on a small wooden stand, with decent length tubing. Popping it out for cold weather is now trivially easy, pull the whole thing out from the cabinet and disconnect the two tubes. I should have done that originally (d'ohh).

Mil is in a rehabilitation center for a week today. Will likely stay another week or two before going home.
Her voice is different than it was prior, she’s weak and tires easily, but that is to be expected.
They discovered she is diabetic through all of this and is taking insulin twice per day. She says she will likely be on oxygen now as well.
Everyone is relieved she made it through though. Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

My aunt told me today that we will not likely be returning to work at the nursing home after this is over. She has gotten a better paying job with benefits at fed ex!!! (Career change!)
I will miss my oldies, but I’m happy for the time I shared with them. <3
Good for her. I hear they pay quite well.

Great news that your MIL is recovering, Tracy! Even with the diabetes dx and oxygen, she's on the mend

Also happy for your aunt, but those oldies do kinda grow on you!

All is well here. Doing a lot of staying home, but that's nothing new for me. Bella and I are still doing our morning 3mile. Most stores that are able to abide by the distancing rule were allowed back open last week...I'll still be sticking to essential shopping only.

We've had the corona blow up in a local nursing home....I got a distant Cuzzo in there....Couple weeks back they took her leg due to diabetes...Last week I hear about the blow up....Next day I hear she has a fever...One more day and a positive on the test....next day on a ventilator in ICU....I don't see her making it...She's somewhere around 57/58....It's real and it's deadly.....

I mixed a quart of VG/91%ISO at 75%/25%....There was a little extra room in the quart so I topped to somewhere in the 80% ISO range....I used a little cup that held 1/4 quart evidently so the ratio is exact pretty much....Problem is that 25% VG is greasy as Hell and later gets sticky....Bottom line....That ain't gonna work....I do like the fact it seems keep the alcohol in play a little longer...I've been using 91% to rinse when hand washing isn't available and may just go with 91% solely....had to get groceries today and masked up....sanitized the living Hell outta the cart with window cleaner first and then sanitizer...dang grocery lady told me it was window cleaner...guessing she was washing windows while sanitizing carts...hell I sprayed mine down 100% and don't thing she really liked that...I played hell on the sanitizer when finished....Eyes/face/nostrils....Drank a bottle of water to wash and covids down....then when home gargled with vinegar/salt/water at a strength guarenteed to kill...I heard it rested in the throat prior to attempting killing you.....I'd like at least a couple more years and after all the sheet I've pulled a trip to the grocery ain't gonna be what gets me.....I hope anyways

So sorry to hear about Cuzco, LD. I read about that nursing home this morning. We have one very close to us that did the same thing. My sister and I both say all of the time that we are glad my mom already went if she had to go. I swear you crack me up every time. Thanks. I needed that.

Tracy, so glad to hear that your aunt is doing well!

no doubt about it. This sheet is getting old.

I'm sorry to hear about your Cuzzo, Dee. This covid thing is raging in nursing homes and VA homes like crazy.

Hoping this will bring a warm fuzzy feeling we all need right now. My Cardinal couple's eggs have hatched!! I sure hope that one all bent over is sleeping!

Awe, thanks for sharing that, Bov. I also hope the one bent over is sleeping. He doesn’t look too good.

Did you know that the male cardinals are so devoted to feeding and caring for their young that if something happens to their offspring they will actually start feeding the babies of other birds. That is just how strong their instinct is to care for their young is.

Animals are absolutely amazing to watch and study.

I did know the males are devoted, but didn't know they would feed other baby birds! I've been watching this couple since I bought my house, but this is the first nest (that I know of) they have built right in the shrubs of my back yard. The nest is about 4ft off the ground, and they are not bothered at all by Bella when she runs circles around the bushes :)
