    Sorry for your loss Salem.....

Got the Dolphin....I had the trailer washed and waiting to return to it's home....Decided to fill the Dolphin for the trip...Filled OK with the yorker....OK not great....Screwed it on the Jaybo and got "atomizer short"...I pulled the pin out a shade and still no connection....I pulled that coil out and slapped in the NiChrome....All was well and yes indeed ceramic coils are the real deal....When I returned I took the original coil apart and found the hot leg in contact with the side of the coil....I fixed that as best I could as there really isn't much room for the hot leg...All was well and I went up to Mom's to write out her bills while she hovered and gave instruction....Puff and atomizer short again.....Slid back to the crib and threw the NiChrome back in for the time being and MFIN SOB atomizer short....After getting a dang long look at the insides of the coil and using my Hella experience in making sheet fly this is what I determined....The coil base where the actual ceramic sits has two prongs to center it over the airflow....Those prongs do nothing to keep the coil from rotating....that last sentence is very important....Clearance for the hot leg is at a premium....The coil is double jam packed with cotton and comes with a little deal e ohh to get the cotton in the barrel and then over the ceramic....that goes well....then you gotta screw the barrel to the base....the ceramic is kinda rough in texture and does a damn good job of gripping the cotton....enough of a good job the hot leg will rotate and contact the side of the base...I wasted one cotton finding out how that all worked...The NiChrome that I never had apart I suspect rotated the hot leg to contact the side from installing into the base....The original coil was in contact from the git go and still is....When changing cotton or if you get the atomizer short just pull the pin and the blue silicon...The hot leg is the one inside the blue slilcon ring...Screwing the barrel to the coil base will rotate the coil and leg...screwing the assembled coil into the tank base again will rotate the coil....I tightened as I normally would....Flavor was great....juice consumption was astronomical as are most...I may fix it or I may smash it with my BFH....Chances are 50 50......

Yeah, now that I dropped $80 on 2 of them, I am seeing lots of negative reviews on these dam things. I am so sorry for posting about them here :( You can see how awesome ceramic is for flavor though. Way better than any other coil type out there. I wish that you guys had a cCell compatible tank because I would send all of you one of these coils to try.

I should have just bought a few Melo 2s and stuck with the cCell coils. they have been out for months now and work very well. At the time, I was seeing people liking the Dolphins and as much as I love my Vaporesso cCells, I hate this Atlantis tank. I figured that I would just go with the dolphin rather than buy another tank for these coils.

Shame on me because I know much better than to buy something when it is first released. I really feel bad that some of you bought them and they turned out to be such a POS though. So sorry, guys :(

Awww, don't blame yourself Salem! Any time something new comes out there's a gamble that V1 will have problems. This problem sounds like an easy fix for the manufacturer...just build a stable coil!

If enough people complain, maybe the Dolphin folks will send out new, better built coils :)

Salem you've lead the entire forum too deals galore....I'd seen the Dolphin previously and decided on my own to pull the trigger....Not your fault at all.....

Hey if your Dolphin will fire then I think it will last a dang long time and the vapor is dang good....way better than my Crowns....

Another thing I noticed.....the second fill the Dolphin cap tried to push the silicon gasket out when closing....There was more than plenty of juice lubrication after the yorker fill and I was able to push the gasket back down and get it closed......

A wrap of cotton less in the barre may rectify the assembly issue where the coil spins....then again it may leak with less cotton and that ceramic is mighty grippy...

I'm gonna make an attempt at modification.....It's gonna be hit and miss because everything that must be tightened is gonna wanna rotate that coil......I feel it can be done but it's gonna be tedious....Too tedious and BFH Time!!!!

I got that Kabuki....Well made/very high quality....It runs Nauty coils and bottom fill....Tight draw and a beech too fill.....My thinking is it won't be long until a quality tank appears that will run a c cell or similar.....

Thanks for the list, Salem! I have nary a one on it, but I'm willing to wait and see how the market pans out for these. One thing I do not like is the top fill tanks with the swing top. I've heard plenty of people talk about how the loosen over time. Give me a good ole screw on top cap and I'm happy!

Dee, reading reviews elsewhere, I'm seeing lots of complaints of the same issue you are having. Someone said contacting Gigue (whatever) may get you a replacement after the Chinese New Year is over on the 15th.

Moon, got your package mailed...you should have it around next Tuesday.

If anyone wants to try the cCell coils, RMV has these tanks that are compatible with the cCells for $7.50 each using the 25% off code listed on the front page. Eleaf iJust 2 Subohm Tank Set - $10.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

I did have my mind set on a Melo2 which is top fill but, I do like the extra 1.5 ml capacity of the ones above.

They hold 5.5 ml not top filling but, I may pick up a few of them and just keep using the cCells. These coils I am 100% certain are better than any of the non ceramic coils available. I am at the end of day 12 with my first coil. Using a juice that would normally gunk up fairly quick. The cCell is still getting better by the day.

Also, a friend that has been using the cCells since November told me that he dry burns and uses the same coil for months. Can't change the cotton but, it is a thin strip of cotton that does not come into contact with the coil.

Best price on these coils that I have found is $12.99 per pack ( was $9.99 when I bought them) at VapeNW. Some (most) vendors are charging $20-$26 per pack for them.

If you read the reviews at the VNW site, they all say that the kanthal coils are better than the nickel. This seems to hold true with most people that I know of using them. Although I do know of 2 people that like the nickel better. of course, YMMV

The kanthal that I am using is just like a regular coil head. No ramp up time at all. After using thesse for just a few days, I was not able to go back to my subtank. I can taste the cotton now and it just tastes bad in general.

Salem I agree with the rest here. My dolphin came today and I'm going to give it a go!!!

Regardless of whether I love it or not, I will have not a single ill feeling towards you! Promise!!!!

If I get a minute to myself tonight I will set it up. If not, it looks like sometime this weekend. Stay tuned!

Yes. Do try it, Tracy. Lots of negative reviews out there (now) but I have seen as many good reviews on them.

I am going to stick with the cCells like I should have done to begin with ;)

    Evening, Fran.

Early morning for me tomorrow thanks for the neuro that screwed my moms appt up on Monday. I kept leaving messages an nobody would call me back (freaking typical around here) finally got a real person on the phone. The neuro will see my mom at 8:30 am tomorrow. Got to get her and her walker packed up in the car before heading that way.

My moms OCD has been in high gear all week. She is convinced that the reason they never called ack is because there is something horribly wrong on her MRI. I told er to chill because I think it is the fact that they can't charge Medicare for phone calls. We will soon find out though.
