Good morning all.

Moon I am sorry about your Aunt.
I sometimes pop in to read while at work then do a quick post much later in the day without back reading. That was what I did yesterday.

I couldn't even tell you the last time that I had any good baklava.

It's hard to find good Baklava here too Goldie. The restaurants here are Mediterranean which are middle eastern, and it's just not quite the same. My sister made a great batch at Christmas.

All of my grandparents (and many others) came from Greece at the turn of the century. My Yiayia was considered the best baker. There was aid from our church that worked in the White House. He brought some Baklava to Carter one time. After that every time he came home, Carter and after that that, Reagan would always ask...'Are you bringing back Annie's Baklava?'

Salem, it's hard to watch our loved ones do exactly the opposite of what's best for them. Katie is the same way about meds and Drs. I went through the same argument with her about her statin a couple of years ago but she is still taking it.

Bov, that is great that Katie is at least taking them. Sometimes I feel like my mom is like a kid and going to rebel against things just because she is told to do it.

I got a call from cardiac rehab the day after my mom was released. The girl told me that the Dr advised my mom do the rehab in order to stay out of the hospital. I told her that I would ask but already knew she wasn't going to do it. Yep, I was right. Not a cold chance.

I could kick myself from here to China. Was right next to my allergist yesterday while I was at the dentist. Totally forgot to stop and get my injection. Now I get to drive all the way back over there today and get the darn thing. Normally I take them at home but, they made changes to what's in them a few weeks back so I have to get the first 5 in their office. Grrrrrrrrr.....................

It wasn't as easy as it sounds to get her to keep taking the statin. Once I became in charge of filling her weekly am/pm meds box I told her it was a vitamin. For some reason she has no argument about taking vitamins

Today was beauty shop day, so I picked up Chinese take out from next door to the beauty shop. We love their egg rolls and pork fried rice.

Bov that's too funny about calling the statin a vitamin! Hey, whatever works, right? Made me think of Mary poppins "a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down"! Great, now that'll be stuck in my head for awhile. Haha

Well, thank you very much, Tracy. now it will be stuck in my head too.

I wish the vitamin thing would work with my mom. She is too OCD for that. She would need to know the name and see the insert. HA! They do have her on Zetia and Plavix though. Nowhere near as helpful as a statin would be but still hoping that she does not talk herself into not taking it.

She was on Plavix before and quit taking it.

I've got a longtime friend who has cancer....The diagnosis isn't good...He had to take a leave of absence from the tire store/mechanical shop he has managed the last 7 years....I've not spoken with him in several weeks....I needed my Samurai tires mounted on my new wheels... went to the tire store and intended on speaking with the longtime assistant manager....When I arrived I didn't see the assistant manager so I asked a guy I've always known as a gofer and he informed me he was away due to his Mother being on her death bed....He also informed me they couldn't get to my tires for a couple of days....I asked the new manager??? if he'd heard from my friend and he replied that he wasn't really concerned about my friend....Well now....I figured it best to haul azz so I headed back too the truck....I get intercepted by the head mechanic.....another longtime friend....Together he and I mount and balance my tires....We then chum around for a bit....The new manager makes his presence known but says nothing to us....I ask my friend the mechanic how much I owe...He laughs and says do you usually pay??? Off I go and all is well other than that comment about not being concerned about my friend's condition.....That was stuck in the back of my mind....I don't roll with many and my friend with the cancer is a stand up guy loved by all I know....

9:05 this morning.....The phone rings....It's the new manager....Sarcastically asking if I intend on paying for having the tires mounted....$$86.40.....He says the shop guys don't know where I went....I keep silent on that one and tell him I'll be by in a bit.....I've sold many sets of tires for this shop thru the years....Fixed the cars they scratched when repairing them....always 25 cents on the dollar....The more I thought about it the madder I got....Just me and the new guy are in the show room and as I hand him 100 bucks I say I'm kind of upset about a couple of things he's said....He's more than ready to argue and we went back and forth a couple of times....A guy from the back hears the conversation and comes in for a better look....he never said a thing and I would assume he's friends with my buddy as well....a lady came in off the street about this time as well....Well new man shorted me 10 bucks and I called him on it....Then as he was handing it to me he started to pull it back....he said just one more thing and never got the rest out....I snagged the 10 and lit his azz on fire....Before that he'd cemented his stance on my friend and the lady and shop guy knew what I was mad about....How anyone can stand there and say the things he said.....I let him know exactly what I thought of him.....he pulled out his phone and threatened to call the cops if I cursed again....so I did....plenty....He best be glad I didn't do what I wanted to do and no way in Hell could he have stopped me....In the end I know I did wrong by getting my tires mounted for free....Hell it's always been free....Just two longtime friends with 60 combined years in the business helping one another out......Still though.....saying you're not concerned about my friend in his time of need might get your damn azz knocked the fekk out.....He made an enemy for life yesterday when he said that....
