If you have a spare glass pitcher you can make your own cold brew concentrate.
Coarse ground coffee, 6 fluid ounces of it with a quart of water. Stir a little, then cover the pitcher with Saran wrap or foil and let it sit on a counter 12 hours.
Strain it
through cheesecloth, a second optional strain is putting it
through a coffee filter.
(I use a French press, but the above works fine )
The concentrate lasts for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
Mix it 1:1 with plain water, for either cold or hot coffee. For hot, just microwave the coffee cup for a minute or two.
If you want to try making your own cold brew, I'd be happily to send you some fresh roasted coarse ground beans. (This also works okay with generic store beans, a breakfast blend version is good to use, just make sure it's ground coarse.)
Roasting is actually cost effective. In my case I have a neat little setup in the new mud room/entrance from the addition to our house I put on some years back.
I cool the roasted beans in a stainless steel colander, in a little wood frame with a small fan on top, right next to the roaster setup.
The puppies love the smells.
