Morning folks. Got the trick or treaters taken care of last night, I just sat on the front steps with the candy bowl until it was empty. There were some real cuties :)

Salem, now you have me intrigued on the Walmart find. I can go there today and for $10, I'll give it a whirl.

Me too!!

Ouch Dee! You reminded me I need to trim my nails tho. And if Lowes had told me "no picking through the lumber" I'd have put every stick back and given them a big fek you!! Glad you were on the last stick and just ignored them.

When I did the deck at home and camp, for the stairs I went with 2x4 top and bottom between the 4x4 posts, and then used a piece of rectangular treated baluster (the nominal 2x2 that's really 1-1/4 X 1-1/4) for the actual handrail part. The handrail attaches to the top 2x4 on its short edge, with a couple of 1" or 1-1/4" standoffs to lift the baluster above the 2x (You can use little nylon spacers or a couple spare small pieces of the baluster). The baluster is small enough, and rounded edges, for a person to actually grab as they go up or down, if they are a little unsteady on their feet. A 3-1/2" or 4" screw goes through baluster, spacer, and into the 2x.

Did a test cold brew of the PNG kawvee, it's a keeper :)

Good morning everyone!

Ouch on the nail pain ElDee!!!

Ha, ha! I think that I may have just given you information overload in PM ;) I know that what I gave you will help your pain tremendously. Hoping that you can get those today in WM. Thinking they may be online only.

If you want something today that you can buy there, look for the Pro Foot brand like I showed you. If they have something called Tri something(?) that will cover the heel, arch and ball of foot. They work very well too but not quite as good as what I showed you. All else fails, get the Dr Scholls Tri something (?) They are a bit pricey though. :( Trust me when I tell you that I feel your pain.

ETA- Not bad price at WM. I had to get mine close by at CVS and they were much higher. These Dr. Scholl's Tri-Comfort Orthotics Insoles, 1 pr - Walmart.com

Good morning all.

LD, you have to use the "green" treated lumber when the wood will make contact with the ground lol

I am copying my PMs to Tracy starting here.

Never, ever go barefoot. Not even at home. I have slide on shoes equipped with orthotics that go on my feet as soon as I get out of bed. The key is that you have to always have good support for the arch. Plus, you have to keep the achiles tendon stretched out. The dr gave me exercise's that work really well. I will tell you about those after showing you these orthotics that have been a lifesaver for me.

There are plenty out there that work well but, they don't last that long and are expensive. I promise you even though these are cheap, they work!
PROFOOT Triad Women's Orthotic, Size 6-10, 1 pr - Walmart.com
ProFoot Miracle Molding Insoles Women's Sizes 6-10 1 Pair (Colors May Vary) - Walmart.com

I actually have the 2 oz miracle on the bottom and other on top in my slide in shoes. I have more to tell you but wanted to show you these quckly.

these exercises will help you immediately. Some you can do at work. At the bottom of the page click on blue words and they show how each is done.
Plantar Fasciitis: Exercises to Relieve Pain

I also wear a night splint. It helps tremendously.
I got mine at amazon.

Oh! You MUST get a compression sock!!! Almost forgot to tell you this. If you went to dr, he would wrap your foot and the compression sock will do the same job. Also immediate relief. The docs other option would be an injection which is painful but works right away. What size shoe do you wear? I bought a really good pair and it is too big. I wear size 8 I will show you what I have and use in a minute. going to get link.

Last one.

The Asics Kayano is the best shoe you can get. Sadly, they don't make them in a wide width and my feet are wide. I ended up with the Brooks posted here and they work very well.
Best Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis 2016: Sneakers and More

I hope that some of this helps you. Hang in there!

I just bought all 3 of those profoot brand orthotics! The triad, ultra gel and plantar fasciitis. Forgot about the compression socks though, darn it!
Next trip out!

I will let you know how it all works out for me Salem, and thanks again for all of your helpful info!!! ***squeeze***

The only trouble I'll have with going barefoot, is if I drink too much iced tea before bed!!! It's happened before and let me tell ya I don't know which is more uncomfortable...the bladder or foot pain. I ouch ouch ouch ouch all the way across the room. Otherwise, I prefer my feet inside of a slipper.

Might be a silly question but, it's never stopped me before, lol.....aren't you afraid of blood clots with those compression socks?
I like loose socks, so I'm a bit "bothered" by the thoughts of squeezy socks. Are they really that helpful? I can get used to it if they truly help I guess. Had to ask...

Thank you for the links and info, Salem! The never go barefoot part? I won't be able (willing) to do that. My shoes are like the bra...off as soon as I get home!! I have very good fitting and comfy walking shoes, I just like my body parts to be free :D

You will regret it. I too loved to go barefoot. Thing is that not having support for the facia ligament which runs from your heel to your toes through the arch is a big part of the problem. I learned that the hard way.

At least get the toeless compression socks. That will give support to that ligament.
Must go get my mom. TTYL :)

No, silly. DH is on coumadin because of his high risk of clots. He is supposed to always wear compression knee length hose. They help to circulate the blood ;)
