I'm finally about to get used to the taste of the liquid Stevia I've been using in coffee and tea. @Wharf Rat I hope you know I switched to it from sugar just because you told me I had too

I'm guessing I need a decent android antivirus/malware app for my phone...any suggestions? I did finally find the setting to tell it to stop using my damn minutes for data and only connect to the internet manually thru wifi

I root my phone. Add avast antivirus from the play store.

If you root, you can then also add AdAway, pretty sure the link is on XDA forum. That wipes out a lot of browser ads. It's easy enough to disable, then reenable, if you need to let something through temporarily, and also allows you to whitelist domains.

If you're more adventurous, and rooted, add Xposed framework, then Xprivacy. Xprivacy gives you excellent control of what apps on your phone can do.

Haha! I'll just send it to you to hack, Mark Thanks, I'll grab Avast. On my desktop I use Firefox and AdBlocker. It sounds pretty much the same as AdAway, but I don't expect to be using internet too much on my phone.

If you're in the least bit interested, I bought an unlocked Blu R1 HD 16gb/2gb from Amazon, but paid the extra to not have the Amazon lock screen adds and apps. Safe Link started allowing you to BYOP to your account. They upped my free minutes to 500 per month/unlimited texts.

That looks like a quite decent phone, with rooting readily available from XDA. It also had micro SD for memory expansion, quite useful, and can actually even handle at least some larger than 64gb microsd cards.

I run a large microsd on my phone, then use something called foldermount. Things that are theoretically downloading to the internal memory are actually stored on the big SD card - handy [emoji5]

I have an iPhone and it's almost became my right hand because everything I need is on it. Both of my kids used to have iPhones but now it's only my daughter. I'm an Apple girl. Throw soft, preferably not rotten fruit please.

I knew what you meant Wharf!

My phone now is the iPhone 6. It belonged to my son and I took it over when he got the Samsung Galaxy Edge last year. I wanted something bigger than the 5S I had, so his old one fit the bill. My daughter has the 7. I just like the way I can integrate everything on it. Since I use an iPad, I can choose to save stuff and have it available on both my devices.

My kids had iPhones long before I did so they had to teach me how to use them. I'm still learning.

iPhone 6 Plus here! It's heavy but I like it!

Android for me -- I like the huge array of apps, and rooting so that I can do things like add my own lockdown software, delete or freeze bloatware (apps I don't want to run).

OTOH, work specifically uses Apple phones due to how they're locked down, easy to constrain the configuration. They're the modern replacement for a Blackberry.

I had Android phones when I first ventured into the smartphone world and I'll admit that when I first went to the iPhone I missed a lot of the apps that I had with my LG.

The one I just retired is an LG306g "feature" phone. No apps, no call number blocking. I've already put the call blocking of Avast to work.
