Yep, change in the weather for sure! We needed the rain, but Bella is dancing with her legs crossed because she won't go outside in the rain

P.S.- will be 8 yrs vaping this August and I finally learned the pain of kissing a hot coil yesterday!!! ‍♀️Praying that never happens again. Ugh!!!

Rollin' up on 9 years myself, and I know that pain! And the pain of burning fingers to see if a coil is cooled enough to wick

Tracy, Mable will be beautiful

And just for sheets and giggles...I'm rollin' up on 5 years divorced this month

Raining pretty heavily this am....Snow in the area just not here...60* forecast tomorrow and warmer for the extended forecast....I needed a good hard rain to check my weatherproofing at the beach....Now I just need to be there and look at that dang floor...Lucky for me I laid the vinyl back over the suspect area and that should keep the floor wet if it's actually getting wet...

I've never kissed a hot coil but have dang sure touched them before....My anniversary date was 2/15...9 or 10 years I'm not sure....Didn't mark the quit date due to the fact I was just trying to survive that week....

Spring is definitely getting closer, a lot of birds returning [emoji106] (of course, Thursday might is predicted to be back in the mid 20s [emoji3])

After a couple of weeks of being a slacker (normal work hours), things are due to be hectic through the end of May. Of course, this is the time I should be opening camp, working on painting, etc., so it'll be fun juggling stuff.

Well guys, I made it through the first day of throwing it way back. I had some fun, was like a deer caught in the headlights at times, and my feet, legs and back were yelling for me to sit the heck down by the end of the day!
Will see how next week goes. I beautified 10 people in 6 hours, my aunt did 12. Not too shabby for someone who hasn’t done this type of work in about 25 years.
I much prefer doing nails though!

Thanks Fran! Me too. I texted her last night to see how she was doing and she said she was laying down icing her back.
Ouch. Back problems really suck. Hope she's better soon so you can get back to your nails.....LOL.

Great job, Tracy and Aunt! Just think how happy getting beautified makes those ladies

    Morning folks :)

Thank you and that was the best part of it for sure. :) that, and helping my aunt. She took really good care of my uncle until he passed, then married a loser who had her working 3 jobs while he sat around the house or was out at bars. They are divorcing and she’s had to give up one of those 3 jobs already. No way will I let her lose two if I can help it.
Like I said, it’s also helping bo and I not feel the sting of my daughters cs ending to the extent that it would. She graduates with her masters next month!!!! Woo hoo!
Nails will take some time to build again, so it’s a win-win for us all. :)

I bought some steel cut oats today and plan to try them out maybe this weekend! I was always more of a Cream of Wheat hot cereal kind of girl but dang it I’m tired of eggs!

It was a bit sad and unsettling for me at times, bc I’ve not much experience with nursing homes. Some of the residents seemed just fine, but most are medicated and 99% are in wheel chairs. That was a bit of a challenge bc they cannot lay back in the shampoo bowl and others were talking about John Lennon and Joey Bishop as if they had just had dinner together! And no, my aunt did NOT prepare me ahead of time for any of it.

Ain’t gonna lie, there were times when I thought oh my goodness, what have I gotten myself into?!?! 25 years since I’ve done this type of work and here I am in the middle of a cross between Steel Magnolias and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest!!!! (I’m probably going to hell for that one) Deer caught in headlights I tell ya. I was shook!

I hear you about the nursing homes, Tracy.
My sister went from the hospital to a nursing home before going to Hospice. It was not a pleasant place to be as it was depressing as hell.

Then my mom went to a nursing home for rehab after her stroke ( she had a stroke same day my sister was cremated). That one was a bit better than the one my sister was in but still not a place I would want to be if I didn’t have to be there. My mom was in there for 2 months. My sister stayed during the day and I stayed at night.

But I will say that I would feel good about helping some of the residents if I were able. I try to be extra helpful to the elderly and those in need. I know that I would hope to have others treat me the same way if I were in that position.

That’s exactly how I felt afterwards. I know they look so forward to getting their hair done. I just hope they didn’t feel cheated compared to my aunt who has been doing hair for as long as I HAVENT! Haha

Good morning Fran! My coworker at the vape shop is coming for nails today. Hoping my dog (sapphire) behaves.

Tracy, getting used to the standing on your feet and doing hair again will be the easy part. You likely won't ever fully get used to some of the sadder cases of the elderly. We do what we can, when we can, where we can, for those we can  Much respect, GF!

    Pouring rain here too,Bov.

It gets better. Looks like the rain may stick around until mid next week. Of course it will. Did I mention that we just started expanding our garage? Haha

    Signed, Mrs Murphy

PS maybe you need a doggy umbrella? One that she could wear on her head like a hat but covers her entire body. Doggy raincoat maybe? :)

Oh no Salem, your luck sounds like mine. My roof needs to be ripped, plywood laid down and asphalt shingles. (Old slate has got to go)As soon as it’s ripped, we will get monsoon rains. I. Just. Know. It.
    Ugh

It’s been raining here all day too. Was sleeting first thing this morning and the highs were in the 40s. Ick!
