Dang old weather has been mild but the wind has been moving for a good while now....Tropical system moved by a couple of days ago and one formed off the coast yesterday....Then there's the system Dorian?? that's gonna hit Florida over the weekend...Supposed to track right on through here after hitting Florida...Just hoping we can get through the season without a direct hit from a major storm....

In a holding pattern with the clean out/landscaping/home repair job....Old rich girl is coming Friday to approve everything....No beach trip due to not knowing until yesterday she was coming Friday so I've been tightening up things around the farm....I hate waiting and if she skips out Friday I'm out.....

Yup the stickies are back! Allergies are kicking up a fuss as well.

I don’t know how it happened but my baby girl started middle school this week!! Ack!!!!
Big changes ....8 teachers per day instead of 2, lockers, combinations, finding classrooms, gym EVERY. STINKING. DAY.!!!!
She has been a trooper with it all so far. We are very proud of her!

Niece has started her senior year....12 years ago I got a call because she was bucking the thought of getting on the bus...I gave the option of a beat rear or bus ride....Thankfully my Cuzzo was the bus driver and I knew my Niece was in good hands....Now here we are....

Cuzzo's rich wife was supposed to show tomorrow....She called at 1pm saying she was 30 minutes out....I didn't get a call at all....There is payment waiting for what I've done so far and I did score some nice stuff from the house....Truck for landscaping deal has her trying to throw painting the bumper on her Mercedes in on top....Given the fact she was looking for a riding mower she gave Cuzzo a couple of months ago I'm not much worried about painting any bumper...Did I mention pill head and alcoholic amongst other things....The landscaping and removal of all those rock were dang plenty for the truck....There's a full 24 ton dump truck load of big rock sitting square on a concrete driveway....They're gonna have to be hand loaded to avoid further damage to the driveway/trailer/tractor/yard....It's humid as Hades and landscaping/rock hauling is gonna be a little expensive....I was ...... she showed a day early and I wasn't there to pitch the deal at all......I'm getting paid tomorrow so alls well...Real estate agent wants us through before the end of September so dang if somebody better not start doing what they say instead of playing games and showing a day early...Typical from her though....

My baby girl started middle school this week!! Ack!!!!

How Awesome is that Tracy !!!!

The kids got some great news Tuesday. Kia and "the boy", it's probably time to call him Max, Max's team came in 8th out of over 200 films submitted for the 48 Hour composition. No one had had created a Musical until Max wrote and sang much of their Film....
We are very excited how well they did :rickroll:

Dee, I have always admired your "put up or shut up" outlook on work and life! And you don't just expect it from others, you live it yourself...that's integrity, my friend

That's awesome, Wharf!! Congrats to Kia and Max :headbang:

One year ago, August 31st, I closed on my house, and every single one of you played a huge part in this progression of my story!! I'm so grateful to have all of you in my life

Prayers for Wayne !!!

908 I saw the Minnie Winnie pic....Baby girl is ahh growing up....You can tell she's Joc's Sis for sure

When old girl bumped my offer on the landscaping for truck deal I figured I best check into the truck a little further....Said to be less than 20K on the odometer...Will crank with a battery....I took a battery/5 gallons gas/jump box/can of Sea Foam....I hit it with the Sea Foam followed with the 5 gallons....Truck has not been tagged since 2014....Would not start with boost though it did spin over freely....Dead fuel pump and likely gonna need a complete fuel system cleaning....Those 20K miles are 5X at 103,500 miles....Trust I'll not be painting her bumper....Still willing to keep my original offer but cash for the landscaping is an option as well....She tried to bump my offer and shot herself in the foot....

Prayers for Wayne and you all (((Fran))). I’m happy he’s looking like he will be ok.

Congrats on one year of home ownership Bov!!! How exciting! I love our group here and am so thankful to be a part of it. <3

ElDee, crazy isn’t it?!?! Minnie and Winnie are 17 years apart and different daddies....genes really are something else! Those two are thick as theives to boot. :) My family is all about nicknames. They even call poor Bella “Fish”. (?) That one was all Maddie’s fault. And yes, Bella answers to Fish. Smh lol

Our pool is down and packed away until next year. The rest of the outdoor stuff (firepit and canopy) can wait awhile yet.
Tomorrow is my besties picnic so we will be going there. She is there almost two years already and this will be the first I’ve seen it. It’s all good, as we are the type of friends that can go long periods of time without seeing each other but pick right back up where we left off and have a helluva good time doing so. :) Looking forward to it.

I work Monday and Friday this coming week, to close the shop; then onto my next adventure! Woot woot!

I hope you all have a nice holiday weekend and stay safe!

That hurricane is looking nasty! I hope the sucker turns out to sea. Be safe y’all!

Fran, my prayers for Wayne and all of you!

Right there with you, Dee...not happy at all with the new track of Dorian. And hold old girl's feet to the fire! She should have known who she was trying to wheel and deal with :sneaky:

Tracy, have fun at the picnic:banana:

Still pondering whether or not to invest in the storm windows. It's not a difficult DIY project, I just don't know enough about storm window efficiency to figure if I'll make up the cost on my heat and cooling bills. Lowes has the correct sizes in the single hung, low e storms for $88 each, plus the cost of caulk. Any advice and knowledge would be appreciated. I tried the interior plastic window kits last year, and no amount of double sided tape would stay stuck.

Yeah I forgot about Max and Kia as well....Congrats !!!

Happy first year in house anniversary Bov !! First off I'd get up close and personal with one of those storm windows....Measure it and then measure the window trim on the house and see where it fits and if that's good...There is some gray caulking on a roll made to tape to the backside of the storm window mounting flange...That's what mobile home manufactures use and it had held fast since 92 on that window I just replaced...I'd use stainless hardware....drill the screw holes....dab of silicone in the hole before the screw...On and on....they should up the anti against the heat and cold......probably well worth it...

We're gonna have to deal with Hurricane Dorian one way or the other....Hoping for the best but soon preparing for the worst....I'm needing gas/batteries/wicks for the hurricane lamps/1000 other things....I've been collecting a few old hurricane lamps from estate sales then I find them...Hadn't intended on putting them to use for their intended use but oh well.......here we go again
